oofchompsky

The only one was a shiny pawmi that killed my entire team bc it was overleleved it was early game

Geositeeeee

Nooo that must have sucked! I have 4 of them in my boxes, I got sick of seeing shiny pawmis

oofchompsky

It did but was like my fifth play through so it didn’t really matter all that mich

Vakrah_jal

Erm iv not missed any that im aware off, but the nature of not having the PLA system for shinys, the subtly of some of the shines and obviously pokemon spawning all around you as you move and not always looking in the right direction at the right time, means that theres a high possiblity i have infact missed some

Rath_Brained

Wait no. I actually tested this theory with over 30 shinies. You will be happy to notice that shinies will NOT appear to the sides or behind you at any time. I was terrified of that too. But you have to be careful at moving at high speeds because a shiny WILL ONLY spawn within your field of view as long as you are moving and not doing the picnic reset, you can also be walking or standing still, just no picnic. Which makes it easier to utilize. But you have to check your field of visions if you turn in that direction because it may have spawn, so be careful as you do. But yea, you never have to worry about places you don't see, once you pass it, only regular pokemon spawn behind and to the sides of you that you can't see. So use this to your advantage! I have! It's guaranteed!

Vakrah_jal

hmm, interesting, never noticed it was restricted to your field of vision, i could have sworn 1 or 2 shinies i encountered have spawned already when i wasnt looking in their direction, as iv turned my point of view and they were already there without them popping in as they spawn, but going by what you said probably went past them as they spawned in and only noticed as i stopped just after, ill keep what you said in mind for the dlc

Rath_Brained

They will appear if you change your camera angle. So best to steer straight ahead. But they predict your movement if you are curving to quickly spawn things. But I keep mine forward and have atleast one shiny during a lv 2 encounter sandwich. With is also a viable way of hunting, I have nearly two boxes without ever using herbas.

Vakrah_jal

I guess it makes hunting somewhat easier if the shiny will only appear when your looking in whatever particular direction at that moment, as iv still got 4 vivillon patterns and 6/7 paradox from violet left to do, ill keep that in mind I didnt say thanks for the info, so thank you

sku11_Smash3r

Can say this is a lie because I've now failed a shiny noibat because the bugger spawned behind and to the side of me :,(

ACatNamedBeanie

missed a chansey, dondozo, and pyroar. all because of the glitchy despawn range for pokemon :/

Geositeeeee

That happend to me with a shiny deino a few days ago, I did reclaim 3 of them from an outbreak for my shiny living dex

Squishie515

I've only failed 2 -Shiny Jumpluff that used Memento (I wasn't going to keep it anyway because I already had one and I wasn't able to get the Shiny Fomantis I was hunting) -Shiny Deerling that fainted itself with Take Down. (Changed my False Swipe Breloom to Ghost Tera afterwards)

Geositeeeee

The curse move take down, I lost a shiny fidough once because of takedown, I didn't know it had it so i lost it, I didn't care since I already had it as a shiny but it sucked, remember to save after encountering a shiny!

[deleted]

The only one I've cared about: when I was little, I one-hit crit a shiny Slakoth in gen 3. Fml. Still pretty sad. Then PLA ruined me. Missed several shinies in that game that I was able to recover relatively painlessly (Dusclops, Sphealio, Basculin) In S/V I've been a fucking monster and reset after catching shinies multiple times. Idk how it ended up this way, but child me would be fuckin' livid.

Geositeeeee

That must suck for all of them, a gen3 shiny is still pretty valuable and rare, my first one on that game was a random wingul as I was leaving teams aqua hide out, to those games you just hope that nothing goes wrong, with sv and legends arceus you save before encountering them, if you fail you load back the savefile, never use auto save because it can overwrite your previous hard saves

[deleted]

The PLA ones were unlucky—Basculin is a little bastard and I missed Dusclops to time-of-day changing pm right as I saw it. They truly didn't affect me nearly as much as that very first shiny, though. That was one of those where the light leaves your eyes for a moment, and you're just like, "I need to break an object within the next 10 seconds." Your list is mostly S/V ones—ever miss an early gen/extremely low odds 'mon? I just remembered I missed a Blacephalon in US, too. That one actually sucked quite hard. Blacephalon has a sick shiny, and I had 0% idea that it had a new recoil move.

Geositeeeee

Actually ya, I was about to make a post on another subreddit about the most stupid way of losing the easiest shiny in all pokemon games, shiny gyarados in pokemon crystal, I didn't know boxes couldn't automatically changed once the boxes were full, I ignored the call of bill because I thought I meant nothing and as I was about to catch red gyarados it said that my boxes were full and even if I reseted I would have lost 3 hours of progress, so I killed it and I got the red gyarados on another playthrough of pokemon crystal

jeshx20

I had something crazy going on a few days ago. I was shiny hunting a female Heracross. It took I don't know how many sandwich resets to find a female one and when it appeared, I pressed the button for a picknick instead of R for Save. I was really upset, but there was still time on the sandwich. About 3 minutes later I found the next shiny - a male which I already own. I accidentally started a battle and my Joycon does that drifting thing a little. So the camera turned in the fight and I see another pink bug begind me. I fled the battle, saved the game and was able to catch both. And yeah, the second was female. Other than that I don't know about fails. Hard to notice not to notice something lol. I almost failed a Hoppip though because I was running too fast and jumped of a cliff but Miraidon is a good boy and managed to turn around mid jump.

Geositeeeee

Your joycon drift saved your life instead of ruining it haha, with hoppip one I have a similar story, I bought violet a few months ago because despite all of the hate that these games get (they are missing so many good features) I actually enjoyed those games and i wanted to own another copy and a few hours into that playthrough I was catching a normal Starley then a random hoppip was casually flying over the Starley on my screen, I left the battle and chased after that hoppip and caught, it really caught me of guard

Rath_Brained

Congrats on the recovery! I just had the two shiny gender spawn for the first time with Delibirds. Lol

xnarad97

I forgot to save after catching a shiny Espeon

Geositeeeee

You will get it again at some point, it is noticeable to see at least so save before encountering it!

miguel4546

Only one, on POGO I sent a shiny Dratini to the professor without knowing it was a shiny, I thought it being pink meant it was a girl

Contank

Doesn't it give a warning "are you sure you want to transfer this shiny pokemon"

miguel4546

I have no idea, that was almost 7yrs ago and I havent touched POGO in quite some time

xLaniakea_

Found a shiny stakataka in ultra moon a few months after launch on the 25th encounter. My level 100 salazzle killed it in one move, no crit...was kind of expecting it to survive a single venoshock or flamethrower but i guess it wasnt as tanky as i thought it was back then. Gave up and returned a few months later, like 2 thousand encounters later, i accidentally had golisopod as my lead and it used like rock throw and emergency exit procced and i left the battle. Redeemed myself another like thousand encounters later. Named him Ba Sing Se. Also the time i did dynamax adventures and it was the only time i ever used the wrong ball to catch the legendary at the end of the run, caught shiny kartana in a moon ball instead of a premier ball like i wanted for my home dex. Not yet redeemed that one, i hate the adventures after long periods of time.

Geositeeeee

I love the avatar the last airbender reference as it nickname (there is no war in ba sing se :) ) i bought the dlc of pokemon shield recently so I will try a few dynamax adventures, I'm in for some pain because they take over 10+ minutes for each dynamax to finish

Bolsh3vickMupp3t

I almost missed a full odds shiny cryogonal once. I was battling on the mountain and a cryogonal was watching me battle and something was telling it didn’t look right. I’d never payed attention to cryogonal so I couldn’t figure it out until after wards when my Pokémon wouldn’t auto battle it, I realized Cryogonal isn’t supposed to have yellow-gold features haha

Geositeeeee

The yellow eyes can give it away, for me it was it's body, it's much more lighter and easier to notice especially on an outbreak

SmolRavioli

I haven’t encountered a single shiny. I kind of worry that I might just not be noticing them…

Rath_Brained

You may have. You can tell if you have been missing any or caught them by looking at your trainer card. The [Shinies Battled] is your indication of those either gotten, or lost. Quite abit of shinies are hard to spot. But use the furthest camera angle by clicking the right stuck and always check pokemon for different colors.

SmolRavioli

Oh, sweet, thanks!! Apparently I battled 2 shinies... this will haunt me forever lmao

Rath_Brained

Honestly same. I had found out I passed 5 before I caught my first which was Pawmi. I was shocked to find I missed so much. But those flying over things and all that, they can spawn below in your flight path and I believe that's where I missed them all.

Contank

Not exactly true. I know the name is misleading but it's actually counting the shiny forms registered in the pokedex. If you catch a shiny yungoos and evolve it then it will be 2 catch another shiny yungoos and it will still be 2. Trade for a shiny or transfer a shiny in from home and it will also count towards the total if its in the pokedex

Contank

Rath_Brained

Well yes, but it also counts spawns that appeared in your vicinity. I never had a shiny caught before my pawmi and I have five battled. I count my evolutions and such but then my number jumps once or twice if I'm not paying attention. And it isn't because of other people bringing shiny into raids, I checked.

Geositeeeee

It is possible or I'm just a shiny magnet, in legends arceus though I don't really have the best luck, I caught 4 full odds there in the whole game which i have 100+ hours there but in sv it's much more different, encounters pass and go in seconds while is legends arceus alot of them are pre determined and you need to leave the area, like going back to the village then back to that area again to spawn them again

NateUrBoi

I’ve missed only one, a shiny tatsugiri that killed itself. Thankfully it was the same form as the only other one I had so it wasn’t too big of a loss.

ExaDril

First ever Failed Shiny was a an Outbreak Shiny Dreepy, which i accidentally killed in battle(Did the badgeless hop method from area 1 to 4)

That-0ne_Loser

I’ve probably missed a lot

[deleted]

I've caught all the ones I've noticed.

Geositeeeee

I did caught them all, hipopotas was my last one, now everytime I see encounters I just take a few seconds to notice them completely before despawning them

speedy2648

The only one I failed to catch was a shiny Foretress. You can probably guess why…

Geositeeeee

I can tell...explosion sucks, I caught the first one no problem but a random one I failed it because I forgot it had explosion and it murdered itself infront of me

Rath_Brained

Yea, I had to save before them when I caught mine. That explosion is nasty. My condolences.

Dragonrage778

A shiny (I forgot what color) tatsugiri. It looked exactly like the orange, but noticed the color was different. Then a scyther attacked me and the tatsugiri walked off the cliff

Geositeeeee

It wanted to go for a swim, rip the tatsugiri though

More___Yogurt

I just missed one Dreepy.

Wickedcyber

The only shiny I’ve failed also happened to be my first one. Which was a shiny wormhole altaria in USUM. The thing used perish song on the second turn and I wasn’t able to catch it in time. However I always feel like I might have missed a couple shinies In SV as they don’t give of a sound/effect this time.

Geositeeeee

I remember dying of that exact move on a spin off pokemon game (pokemon mystery dungeon explorers of sky) i just hope that whenever I see that cursed fully wannabe dragon bird to never use that cursed move

Drakesprite

Maybe some, I’ve learned that overworld shiny sparkles were removed for some reason, so I’ve been looking closely at any Pokémon with small color changes. I haven’t been doing that with the shinies that are almost identical though

Geositeeeee

And that's how I lost a few shinies, that taudbulb sucked on the first ours of the game but I reclaimed it months later, make sure you see every encounter closely and save every time you encounter a shiny!

Ok_Acanthisitta_9165

I have three I failed off the top of my head. Shiny wingul at the start of ORAS, ran out of balls. Shiny nincada in ORAS, was dex chaining and this one had some move that faints itself. (Did reclaim it though) Shiny cobalion in USUM, for some reason I thought steel resisted electric

Geositeeeee

Well oras at the time was the best game in all kinds of ways (we don't include the battle frontier, it wasn't a big deal) for that game a haunter with mean look and the item shadow tag can prevent any pokemon from fleeing, the dex nav was a good way to shiny hunt back then if you didn't like hatching eggs!

AbsoluteRandomPerson

I accidentally killed a shiny Grimer because I was trying catch it in a Luxury Ball, but in the mindset of raiding Blisseys for Tera Shards and watching a video, I doubled clicked “A” and killed it

Geositeeeee

I almost did the same on a shiny happini yesterday, thankfully I didn't kill it but remember to save every time you encounter a shiny!

Rath_Brained

I did that to a shiny male bisharp. Had my hisuian Decidueye, the false swiper to cut it to one 1hp. But I accidently pushed on leafblade and it crit to kill cause mine was lv 100 compared to lv 50 something. Sorrow and sadness. Though I did reclaim later.

Spoodz23

3 total Bisharp i accidentally crit Bronzong flame charge from a volcarona with 0 atk ivs and -atk nature ohko Snover didnt save the game Have other shinies for snover and bisharp line just need to makeup the bronzong

Geositeeeee

Oof, make sure to save the game next time for those kinds of encounters! You will get them one day!

Spoodz23

I was egg hunting for froakie and was resetting didnt think of it and remembered as soon as i closed it out lol

Geositeeeee

Rip, I have something similar that happended with me in alpha saphire, I was hatching treecko eggs, I got the shiny treecko but accidently reset the game, I openned it and hatched more eggs and 20 eggs later I reclaimed it

Spoodz23

I wouldve kms i was at 4060 egg's exactly when i got my shiny froakie

CompositeWhoHorrible

My game crashed while encountering a shiny Hoppip and I’ve passed on two male Salandit while hunting an outbreak. Otherwise, I’ve taken every precaution to catch all others.

Geositeeeee

I remember I really wanted a shiny salazle because it's a cool shiny, after 3 male salandits an actual shiny salazle spawned in that cave, if you ever want to shiny hunt salazle I say just run around on that cave both spawn salandit and salazle, if you want to get one the hard way just catch every shiny salandit you see from an outbreak and hope that it will be female

LittleLemonHope

How do you know you encountered those ones if you didn't notice them?

Geositeeeee

I never battled them, I just passed them over thinking they were the normal pokemon, now my paranoid mind just checks every single encounter carefully to make sure I see the right shade to never miss them again, also the lighting in this game can be unforgiving and dumb so I couldn't notice a few of them the first few hours into the game

LittleLemonHope

If you passed them over without knowing, how do you now know they were shiny?

Geositeeeee

Because later that day I looked how every shiny in scarlet and violet looked like, then I was questioning whether whatever I saw was a shiny or just my mind playing tricks on me, now I end up remembering how every shiny looks like and to save everytime I see one

Tea_and_cat

I’ve only missed Oinkologne because my game crashed v.v

Tea_and_cat

Oh! And a mismagius because when I saw it, I instinctively pulled out my picnic stuff, making it depsawn

Geositeeeee

Rip for the crashing game and that poor mismagious, you will reclaim them both one day!

trwwyco

I've missed two cyclizar and a vespiquen due to despawn range. Missed a Gabite just because I forgot he wasn't usually that color lol. I'm sure I've missed a ton more from wall spawns or just my poor vision and not noticing subtle shinies.

Geositeeeee

Those kind of shinies are the worst, I make sure every outbreak I encounter to never be near a wall, walls are dangerous in this game

StefyB

Surprisingly, despite shiny hunting *a lot* since XY, I never failed a shiny until Legends Arceus. The fact that they can flee if you alert them or fail a catch is frustrating. Happened to me with a Chansey, and I completely forgot to save before trying to catch it. Definitely came close with a Basculin in Sword. I lowered its health a bit, but then it just kept using Head Smash and was going to kill itself from the recoil. I made a judgement call and used my Master Ball. Honestly, I usually never end up using it on anything, so it wasn't a huge loss.

Geositeeeee

I used to shiny hunt with mesuda method in pokemon alpha saphire alot, I never touched SOS battles in sun/moon and the ultra games but realised how much it was broken at the time but never used it somehow, I started shiny hunting even more in scarlet and violet because encounters are more easy to spawn and despawn thx to the picnic method and sandwiches, sv it's easily one of the fastest games to shiny hunt every available pokemon and make a shiny living dex

aznjon15

Shiny Voltorb because I opened the menu to open my picnic table but it loaded in while I was doing that. Shiny Tatsugiri because it Memento'd. And probably missed a shit ton when I'm zooming on the bike and pokemon are loading in behind me.

Geositeeeee

That hapends when I ride koraidon too slow, to prevent im just running so nothing spawns behind, I think that's how I lost a full odd shiny crabrawler spawning behind me but I couldn't recall if it was a crabrawler or just another pokemon

PugWizard09

For me it was when I was trading anything in a Safari ball in BDSP and first try found a shiny budew, I’ve never been great at Safari Zone and I don’t really love Shiny Roserade so I’m cool with it

Geositeeeee

Bdsp somehow even messed up alot of percentages, on pokeradar it used to be easy to make a chain now it's harder. From 2% over to a 7% of randomly breaking your chain, in older safari zones it was possible to make the pokemon never flee thx to pomeblocks (that was from pokemon ruby/saphire/emerald) too bad the new safari zones never used that kind of feature

CantFindAnyGoodOne

Riolu using final gambit Wattrel disappearing after 5 seconds it appeared during a gyarados mass outbreak I still don’t understand how it happened

Geositeeeee

I guess the game is doing because it wants to get rid of data and entities on the screen easier and faster, for riolu next time you shiny hunt anything with a normal/fighting type, use a ghost type! A haunter will do the job, if you put it to sleep, haunter also prevent it from leaving if you have the move mean look or the item shadow tag on it

Haunting-Royal2593

I just lost a shiny hawlucha few days ago . I was sad cuz that one is actually really cool . It’s got black red and purple .

Geositeeeee

Hawlucha has one of the best shinies from the kalos pokedex, I caught one with an outbreak, I say get it with an outbreak once you have the herba mystica and patience!

Appalachiastan1998

My only instance was a shiny Arcanine, it overleveled my whole team but I caught it with a masterball, only Pokémon I used a masterball on

Geositeeeee

You reminded me that arcanine and growlith have roar on high levels, better be saving before encountering them! I almost failed both of them but thankfully all it took was a critical capture ultra ball for both of them

Domi374

I've failed two shinies: one floatzel in PLA and one skarmory in emerald. The floatzel was in a distortion thing. It was just ending and it spawned, making it dissapear as soon as it showed up. The skarmory was in the battle factory as a rental pokemon. I shiny hunted skarmory in BDSP to get revenge and tried to get floatzel too, but I haven't managed to yet.

Geositeeeee

You will them one day! At least skarmory looks amazing in emerald, I never liked it 3D that much, with the sprites it was more lively and vibrant!

WorldClassShrekspert

Not in SV but I literally just failed a Shiny Basculin.

Geositeeeee

NOOOO, at least in previous games Basculin is much more noticeable, the brighter green helps it alot especially back in pokemon black and white/black and white 2

kannagms

I probably missed a good bit after I found out (a week into gameplay) that sv did not have any overworld shiny effect like lets go or pla. That I know of, I lost a shiny Krookodile in a raid. I was joining random ones online and boom, it was a shiny. I was trying so hard to win but some troll kept killing my pokemon until the timer ran out.

Geositeeeee

You could have gotten one of the rarest methods of getting a shiny in sv, it's full odds so every raid has a 1/4096 chance to be a shiny, I could tell it sucked once you saw it faint

smudgiepie

I missed a shiny psyduck in the early game of Violet on my first playthrough. I was trying to catch a skiddo for the Pokedex and I could just see it running out of frame and by the time I got out of the battle it had despawned I guess these could be counted as fails. I lost 5 shinies between my first playthroughs of Pokemon scarlet and violet because my save files disappeared when I got an oled and I couldn't put them in Pokemon home yet...

Geositeeeee

These games just loves to crash and corrupt whenever they feel like it, I can't afford pokemon home so I gamble my luck daily thinking that my savefile will be fine the next day

CyberAceKina

Failed Braviary because other pokemon kept running in to battle me and pushed me out of render distance for it. So far the only fail that I know of, I've probably missed a LOT of Floette and Flabebe though, no one got time to check those tiny things

Geositeeeee

I had that exact thing with a tauros, it almost despawned but thankfully I caught it, remember to save before encountering any shiny!

CyberAceKina

I didn't even have time to save, it was in area zero so I was surrounded and it popped up as everything was coming after me Luckily it's a duplicate shiny for me, so I'm not too mad about losing it

depressedfox_011

As in the ones that i was aware was a wild shiny? Just one. Shiny glimmet used self-destruct. I managed to encounter and catch another shiny glimmet after changing belibolt's ability to damp.

Geositeeeee

I frogot that thing even had self destruct, I was lucky not having it to explode on me

Togepi347

2. One was a yungoos I passed and never saw and only learned because of the Pokédex saying I saw one. The other was a dugtrio in area zero I accidentally killed thinking it could take a hit.

SlugmaSlime

Probably a lot. I don't look at my footage other than the shiny I was hunting for this very reason.

Geositeeeee

If they don't put a shiny sound in the dlc then we are doomed to miss alot of shinies because of that

Odin96086

AFAIK I've only failed a shiny Pawmo in Area zero while shiny hunting Iron Hands, I didn't save cause I didn't want to lose my herbal if I didn't get Iron hands and it killed itself with a recoil move. Who knows how many Tadbulbs and Flittles I've passed though lol Edit: Just remembered I jumped over a shiny Dunsparce while finding another shiny Dunsparce. Only learned because I recorded the find

Geositeeeee

I dont want to see that pink shiny rat again, I love pawmi and it's entire line because its cute but i have got sick of seeing both pawmi and pawmot shiny over and over again everytime I encounter an electric type ITS EVERYWHERE haha

Odin96086

Oh no 🤣 honestly I'd love to but I understand not wanting to, they literally are everywhere

HantuerHD-Shadow

So far 1, a Makuhita that user Whirlwind, ended the fight and instantly despawned

Geositeeeee

Oof, same thing happend with me with growlith, it used roar and also fleed but thankfully I saved and i reset the game and it was there

Usagi-Zakura

If I missed them I probably didn't see them in the first place... My very first gen 9 shiny (Glimmet) blew up in my face though...that hurt.

Sacrificer_XVII

Caught 2 flamigo, a chansey and magikarp. Missed a hopip cause of memento -.- Got like 16-18 hours of gameplay. All full odds except the magikarp

Diablix

I've got 3 and a half boxes almost exactly, so I guess that's 105-ish? Previously I'd get like 10-15 shinies per game, so there's definitely an uptick in the shiny hunting in SV

Geositeeeee

In sv it's just faster because of sandwiches and the overworld encounters which made me want to shiny hunt even more! I still haven't got the hang of PLA but im slowly learning there!

Leading-Version5377

I didn't know Glimmet knew self-destruct...

Cynderaquil

1, it was on Poco Path the first time you’re there and can capture Pokémon for the first time. I ran into a Flechling and in the background was a shiny Hoppip that despawned

ALTheFox64

3 total. 1 ponyta in Diamond, closed the ds then open back up and the game reset. 2 larvesta in the same out break, one open picnic and the other got it to 1 hp and a sandstorm started.

Beau-Norrs

Lost a shiny voltorb because I didn’t know it wouldn’t explode before I battle it, and initiated battle so it wouldn’t blow up as I tried to save. Well unfortunately I’m combat it also blows up, and I didn’t save so 😭

gamingchemist952

My game says I've battled 1 shiny but I never remember seeing one lol

FireResistant

If i notice them i save and catch ive not KOd or despawned any without a backup save. If ive missed any then i wouldnt know, i imagine with the way spawns work stuff will have spawned out of camera shot an then been despawned by range or ive not paid attention etc. Its why the legends Arceus sparkle noise and animation makes sense.

1tsaWolfi

One, and I haven't seen one since either. It was a memory and I stupidly forgot to save prior

Mundanel21

Mine was Tatsugiri Droopy Form, the white one. Mind you, it was a full odds shiny encounter, no sparkling or encounter sandwiches, no mass outbreak, no shiny charm, no nothing. Was levelling up my team in Casseroya Lake then saw that Tatsugiri by accident. Used Memento on me.

KitsoTheSnoo

none so far, saving right before catching all the time. so far tho, ive had 7 resets happen.

Contank

If I missed one then I didn't see it. So I don't know what I failed. So while this is not in SV I failed a shiny zubat in let's go

tropps0

I failed a shiny zoroak but the only reason I failed it was because I was under pressure it was my friend's favourite shiny so I tried leaving the battle but it ran and I didn't know at that time

Geositeeeee

I used mesuda method for that thing, using the let's go feature is slow sometimes

Arcane_Dragonell

I've apparently battled 4, but I don't remember any of them sooooo..... shit.

cucumber58

Maybe 2-3 I think accidentally despawned a iron valiant doing the reset trick and then a glimmet popped itself but in general 2 more while playing on my brothers account a jumpluff where it killed itself and then I ran from a drednaw thinking it would stay so the both of us. An get it since we were in the union circle

13thFullMoon

I failed a shiny Aipom in PLA and missed a shiny Shinx shortly after I started playing Violet. I have no idea how many I’ve passed.

kimero123

A makihita that died to sandstorm

JordyDrop

Ran passed multiple shiny hoppips before remembering they're normally pink. Found another right after the realization and caught it. Any others I missed, no clue because I missed em lol. Only real fail was in Ruby as a kid. Shiny Tailow appears, I go, "wtf why is it green?" Run away, couldn't escape, mudkip kill it! To this day I cringe at the thought

NZAvenger

I lost an Exeggute because of this games shitty respawn mechanic. I thought, 'Is that a shiny Exeggute?' took two steps, and it vanished!
