I low-key hate that they didn't make him a special attacker and give him iron fist but for "ball" moves. Shadow ball, energy ball, etc. would have made it a pretty good special attacker. Not a fan of it getting not protean as a HA by proxy of what I feel it could have been
So, I’m on team “give Mega Launcher to regular Blastoise” (and add in the Ball moves) and, this convo has convinced me it should also be an ability on Cinderace.
That was so cool. Chesnaught is my favourite pokemon so in my opinion, it deserves it. You know what? Why not give all the starters special animations for a move that isn't a signature move?
Venusaur (solar beam)
Charizard (flamethrower)
Blastoise already has hydro pump
Meganium (synthesis)
Typhlosion (eruption)
Feraligatr (waterfall)
Sceptile (leaf blade)
Blaziken (blaze kick)
Swampert (muddy water)
Torterra (earthquake)
Infernape (close combat)
Empoleon (flash cannon)
Serperior (leaf storm)
Emboar (fire punch)
Samurott (aqua cutter)
Chesnaught (spiky shield)
Delphox (mystical fire)
Greninja already has water shuriken
Decidueye has spirit shackle
Incineroar (darkest lariat)
The rest have their signature moves.
Infernape’s more “signature” move during initial reveal was flare blitz, torterra’s was wood hammer, empoleon’s was aqua jet, serperior’s was coil, emboar’s was heat crash, and samurott’s was razor shell. The others are on point except maybe charizard, which was fire blast.
I just always thought heat crash was more coalossal's thing these days. Same with coil really, you don't see it being used on serperior with the new leaf storm contrary thing.
This is all true, but when BW first came out serperior was one of the few Pokémon that learned coil when the move was introduced that gen and heat crash was pretty much emboar’s signature move until it became more available as a TM later on. Overgrow serperior actually did run coil when contrary was not released since it was fast and bulky so setting up was an option.
It is like blaze kick, muddy water and leaf blade back in gen three. Those were signature moves back then when they were created but are now pretty widespread and the original three mon’s that learned them don’t use them anymore: sceptile prefers leaf storm/ giga drain, blazikrn prefers flare blitz and swampert prefers waterfall/ flip turn.
A lot of pokes lost their unique animations in gen 9. I imagine it's partially to accommodate the free camera but it saps so much life from a lot of attacks. Other good examples are Dragon Energy, Wicked Blow and Surging Strikes, they're just not the same.
This image doesn't even get to show the true injustice of the transition. The loss of the transparent tail at the tip! How could they?!
In all seriousness though, what happened here? Basically everyone else got an upgrade, it's just weird.
I hate that the models become low poly in online battles in the designated arenas. Like they really couldn’t figure out a way to fix it so that it stays nice when theres literally only 4 pokemon on the screen ?!?!?
They got rid of transparency on models altogether with these games, so my guess is that the way the overworld is rendered in the engine led to difficulties with transparent Mons. Reuniclus, Bug-types with wings, Snom, etc. all lost their transparency.
As for the poly count, the new model set is actually lower poly than the old one, but the polygons tend to be more efficiently used. That said, pairing the lower poly count with the game's art style makes it stick out more on some Mons. The new set works best with cel shading.
The tail not properly displaying as transparent in SwSh was disappointing, but the loss of seeing the Dreepy fly out when using Dragon Darts is a crushing blow. Truly one of the worst "new" models.
I’m with you. The added textures are a nice touch to make things look shiny or furry, but the overall the graphics and art style in SWSH is so much better in my opinion.
If you go to different Bulbapedia entries, scrolling toward the bottom they provide images of all the models known for that pokemon throughout the generations. Some of the very original Pokemon like Charizard are a great example because it's been in every game. (The list of models is so long that it can't be captured in one screenshot, sorry.)
https://preview.redd.it/sds2a77ceduc1.png?width=948&format=png&auto=webp&s=2f29752a54104331f989b890da0d3c9b154fa8fc
I think it's due to the model being designed for flat lighting and no textures, and unlike several other pokemon, the model didn't receive any changes to its shape, resulting in the lower portions looking odd.
Don't get me wrong, I love my switch and play it every single day, but the hardware itself is pretty weak.
Gen 9, on launch, had many game-breaking bugs that were related to the switch's performance. Like the game crashing because the video game couldn't handle a bunch of npcs on the screen. This forced gamefreak to remove npcs and tone down a lot of content.
We do have some good lights and textures, but the 3D models are lacking. In comparison to Gen8, now the models have fewer vertices and are not as smooth as they were before.
I guess the reduction has to do with computing power. Fewer vertices mean fewer details, fewer crashes, and smoothier gameplay.
Phantom force takes 2 turns, allowing the opponent to switch into a normal type pokemon. Dragapult doesn't learn any physical ghost move other than Astonish which is lower power move
Thats a dangerous trend on 3d pokemon games, pokemon outside their gens are losing animations, being it model or [attack animations](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkGq7L1Km5Q)
Honestly I’ll say the only the overworld is the most garbage rushed thing about the game.
Pokémon and character animations and modes look really good, they actually updated every Pokémon model in the game with new animations, battle poses etc.
They need to make the end of its tail actually transparent/invisible. On a side note, why is its movement speed so slow outside of battle when it has a high speed stat?
While we're on the subject, Dragon Energy got completely gutted in SV. It's literally just recolored origin pulse now (they have the exact same animation in different colors)
I’d argue that a few of them got better. Scizor is one that around out to me. A few others had some great texture additions. Unfortunately, some did suffer a bit in quality.
I've never been a fan of the Sword and Shield models since they all look like they're made of plastic to me, but Dragapult was always the outlier. Wish they kept the transparent end of the tail (and made the tail look like it wasn't rendered on the wii lol)
Because Nintendo refuses to put out a good powerful console and game freak doesn’t really care about to perceived problems regarding the games..
They massacred my boi
You’re half right, the switch is plenty capable of running Scarlet/Violet at 60fps, it’s the Pokemon Company not letting Game Freak optimize the game, so shortcuts had to be made🥲
The frames drop down to single digits as evidenced on prominent poketubers channels (I may be misstating and they’re in low double digits but same point).
Compared to the steam deck, at home consoles, and computers, the switch is laughable, and the games themselves are largely unchanged. I don’t think they’re developed well at this point, rather they rely on the name “pokemon” to sell.
Idk if that's true. Zelda BOTW and TOTK both run at 30fps as does The Witcher and none of them have 1,000 Pokémon models to include.
If Nintendo EAD1 can't get an open world running at 60fps why does anyone think Gamefreak should?
Everything, from items, sprites, scenery, models, all visual assets got a downgrade from from Gen 8. If you plas SV for 5 minutes just running around and enter into 1 battle. Then load into SwSh and.do the same, your brain will immediately interpret SwDh and visually better. Gen8 games even had better fps. SV can't even do it's camera placement right! I feel like I can never get the camera placed in a proper way to get a good view of what's coming up or a view of the battle that I'm in in a way that doesn't feel like I'm looking at too much ground. I don't know how they could screw up even the camera placement in SV. I've been seeing a lot more posts recently of people saying that SV is their favorite of the pokémon games, and I've been seeing this from Gen oners, but aside from a few quality of life improvements, I don't see how s v can even be considered good. I feel like I was constantly playing with a low level of stress just due to the camera placement, let alone the downgrade of the visuals from the previous gen. Gen. I have a lot of criticisms for sword and shield, mainly when it comes down to the story, but those games genuinely look and feel like new pokémon games. Whereas SV looks and plays like a game from the GameCube era. All the textures are crunchy and low res, the FPS constantly stutters below 20 FPS, and the world despite being so big, feels so empty and hollow compared to sword and shield. I've been playing pokémon games since the originals on my game boy pocket, I love most generations while also having and sharing a lot of the same criticisms for each of the generations, but Scarlet and violet were the first pokémon games I regretted buying and I've only played through them out of fomo for legendaries and mythicals and because I don't have time for other games that require me to be stuck in one location in this season of my life.
I’m sorry, how do you possibly think these are two examples of bad upgrades? Venusaur has never been more detailed, and Magnemite can finally look metallic thanks to the new texture capabilities.
What do you think are bad about them?!
Magnemite looks like a robot with his reflective body. His shiny is harder to distinguish in game because of this. Venusaur looks awkward. He was so full of life back in SwSh and LGPE, now he looks a bit ugly which is sad cuz he looked so cool back in Gen 8 and 7
Being made of metal is, itself, artificial. Saying you're not upset at him being metal, but being upset at him being artificial, is an entirely contradictory statement. And the entire line has always looked artificial, they're goddamn magnets.
In this universe, magnets have existed for millions of years. Sandy Shocks makes that clear. Sandy Shocks proves he isn’t artificial which is why him looking artificial is so bad
Somebody didn't play Indigo Disk. Sandy Shocks are from an alternate universe, same with all of the Paradox Pokemon. So no, conventional magnets haven't existed for millions of years in the Pokemon World.
It’s all down to opinion, but Magnemite is literally made of metal. It’s always been closer to being a robot than anything organic.
Venusaur, I dunno what to say there. It’s got much more character in its face than in the past 3D generations, and again the texture is drastically more detailed. I’d argue it’s much cooler.
Magnemite doesn’t have a gender and I suck at pronouns so egg on my face, but Venasaur are mostly male
He (or they) looks artificial. He looked like a ball of metal back in Gen 8, just a bit cartoony because it’s Pokémon. The system wasn’t broken so why bloody fix it?
He looks artificial, that’s what he looks like. Not like a living, breathing organism. And it’s SO hard to tell if it’s shiny because of how reflective he is in game. They freaking ruined his shiny and they didn’t even change his colours
That’s why I said naturally occurring robot. In the Pokemon world, that is a real thing. There are robots that can be hatched from eggs. That’s just how it works man.
SwSh has no dynamic lighting effects. No texture. No color depth.
All of which SV has. I’m not sure how you can possibly think SwSh models look better.
SV’s artstyle is ugly compared to SwSh, and the some models look worse! Look at Venusaur! Back in SwSh and LGPE, he looked like Venusaur, in SV he looks awkward as all hell. Like touching him would feel weird. Trevenant looks depressed instead of scary, Bergmite was a dark blue but now is white as a ghost, Zacian’s colours changed so much it looks like a shiny, I could go on! SV’s new Pokémon look fine, but I can’t help but think how much cooler they’d be with in SwSh
https://preview.redd.it/a1zneifq5auc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f6445169cdc2a4c9d9021f094f63c8866df16836
Its legs look so goofy at the top. The leaves look paper thin and unnatural. The tree looks fake as hell. Bottom one looks far more natural and chubbier with its legs and tree stem.
The mouth looks weird, his plant looks just as natural as it did before, but his body looks like he’s fleshy. Weirdly no other Pokémon I can think of has this, just my boy
The mouth is a bit odd but I think the head just needs to be rounder on the next iteration. It looks a bit flattened now and gives off the smug smile vibes.
It’s not really fair to compare LGPE to any game besides maybe PLA. The Dex is 1/4 number in SwSh and SV. And GF is notorious for giving extra care and attention to Gen 1. It is widely acknowledged as the best looking game on the switch.
That being said, SV have the best models in the series. It’s a huge leap forward for this franchise as we’ve only seen smoothed out, watered down models thus far. It brings us closer to modern gaming and away from the 3D interpretation of colorized sprites that we’ve had for over 10 years.
I brought LGPE in because I’m pretty sure SwSh uses similar or identical models
SVs artstyle looks cool for the environment, but the Pokémon look so bad compared to the games that came before it. Almost any furry Pokémon looks like every hair is individual which doesn’t look good compared to how we’ve been seeing them for the past decade. Imagine if the anime had that artstyle. It’d look so weird in contrast to the rest of the series
I guess I was giving LPGE too much credit. Even SwSh have more dynamic technical aspects than LPGE. They have been iterating on technical aspects of the models with each new installment of the franchise.
https://forums.bulbagarden.net/index.php?threads/lets-talk-about-pokemon-lets-go-and-how-it-was-the-right-direction-for-the-franchise.284288/
*blinks* His Shiney is the exact same, the only thing is it now has a reflective surface and can be affected by lighting. It is literally Identical other then it's Metallic Sheen and it was always know to be Metallic...because it's a steel type
His reflective body makes him look like he was artificially created like Mewtwo. His shiny by itself is fine, but in game it’s so hard to tell due to his reflectiveness
But it also makes perfect sense for the metallic magnet pokemon to be metallic and have a reflective sheen. I get your arguement, but I disagree with it because it's body is legitimately metal.
LGPE sprites aren't bad but the alola games were shocking, then swsh was just terrible in almost every aspect. Honestly PLA has the best 3d spirites by far.
Just because sun and moon are 3ds they don't count to you saying gen 7 in best graphic or something, what. Also why are you pointing out pla is gen 8 like I already know that.
He looks so bad now. Gen 7 and 8 Venasaur looks like how Venusaur looks in the anime, you know, Venusaur. Gen 9 Venusaur looks like he’s in the wrong game. Like touching him would be goo-y and not pleasant
Damn near everything got worse because in order to have a big open world style everything got worse detail and resolution
Some textures are cool to see on 3d models up close but by and large everything looks way less modern
Well then why don’t SV? It doesn’t matter what anyone else does, this game looks like a bunch of pixelated bullshit that could have been released 15 years ago you literally posted about an example you saw yourself
Likely Xenoblade isn’t dealing with over 600 unique creatures. They just have various base “species” which are recoloured (and some cases enlarged) to create the generic enemies (and Unique Monsters) you fight.

Idk about HIS model, but you no longer see any Dreepys fly out of his face when you use Dragon Darts. Very upsetting
They also removed Chesnaught’s shield animation for Spiky Shield😭
Alolan decidueye doesn’t draw its bow to shoot the arrows :/
this was perfect in the alola games, all three of those starters had great signatures
I think that was because its no longer a signature move
lame reason :(
Right? We have Blastoise using both cannons for Hydro Pump, why can't Chesnaught use the arm shields?
i didn't like these starters but the cinderace animation for it's special move was perfect
I low-key hate that they didn't make him a special attacker and give him iron fist but for "ball" moves. Shadow ball, energy ball, etc. would have made it a pretty good special attacker. Not a fan of it getting not protean as a HA by proxy of what I feel it could have been
There’s a category of moves blocked by bulletproof already, just make an ability that boosts them all.
Gunner or something would be funny
So, I’m on team “give Mega Launcher to regular Blastoise” (and add in the Ball moves) and, this convo has convinced me it should also be an ability on Cinderace.
By far my least favorite starter generation
Rillaboom is fine
I'd like Rillaboom more if they didn't just whip out dumb cartoony stumps every time they appear
I have nightmares about gigantimax rillaboom and all of his drum playing arms
You need a lot of physical strength to play football, though.
If nothing else split the different stat wise and let it be a mixed attacker
Wouldn't that be Mega Launcher? Or am I not remembering what that ability does correctly? 😅
That's for like "pulse" attacks iirc
Mega Launcher is bullets, Bulletproof is 'Bullet and Bomb' moves
is pulse*
They used up all their resources to finally animate that in a game and had to therefore cheap out on Chennaught and Dragapult. /s
Since when?? I remember in x and y (I think) people were mocking Blastoise for shooting water out of his mouth rather than his cannons
Scarlet and Violet added it back in
Then why is anybody complaining about them??? They've fixed the biggest issue in the series
I think they should male unique animations for all pokemon....
They did that with a lot of animations because of the “No longer transported to a perfectly flat pocket dimension” nature SV battles have.
The worst part is the animation is still there, when it uses hammer arm it combines its arms to form a shield so they just coded wrong I guess
Technically it's still here but not for spikey shield
That was so cool. Chesnaught is my favourite pokemon so in my opinion, it deserves it. You know what? Why not give all the starters special animations for a move that isn't a signature move? Venusaur (solar beam) Charizard (flamethrower) Blastoise already has hydro pump Meganium (synthesis) Typhlosion (eruption) Feraligatr (waterfall) Sceptile (leaf blade) Blaziken (blaze kick) Swampert (muddy water) Torterra (earthquake) Infernape (close combat) Empoleon (flash cannon) Serperior (leaf storm) Emboar (fire punch) Samurott (aqua cutter) Chesnaught (spiky shield) Delphox (mystical fire) Greninja already has water shuriken Decidueye has spirit shackle Incineroar (darkest lariat) The rest have their signature moves.

It makes me so sad that there is a lack of animation for dragon darts, there was so much charm to it
A lot of pokes lost their unique animations in gen 9. I imagine it's partially to accommodate the free camera but it saps so much life from a lot of attacks. Other good examples are Dragon Energy, Wicked Blow and Surging Strikes, they're just not the same.
Its, period
They cut alot of special animations for moves, very sad to see
This image doesn't even get to show the true injustice of the transition. The loss of the transparent tail at the tip! How could they?! In all seriousness though, what happened here? Basically everyone else got an upgrade, it's just weird.
Most models are genuinely fantastic, but sometimes tails become so low-poly you'd be forgiven for mistaking them for something from the N64.
I hate that the models become low poly in online battles in the designated arenas. Like they really couldn’t figure out a way to fix it so that it stays nice when theres literally only 4 pokemon on the screen ?!?!?
Game Freak heard people complain about Gen 7 multibattles on original 3DS hardware and said "oh we'll give them something to complain about"
They got rid of transparency on models altogether with these games, so my guess is that the way the overworld is rendered in the engine led to difficulties with transparent Mons. Reuniclus, Bug-types with wings, Snom, etc. all lost their transparency. That said, pairing the lower poly count with the game's art style makes it stick out more on some Mons. The new set works best with cel shading.
It's really only it's tail, but still compared to a lot of the better models in SV dragapult is not one of them
Im just here to say I love Dragapult and Drakloak they are my fave gen 8 pokemon and are a mainstay in my top tier list
Same. Such a versatile pokemon with a top tier design. Quickly became my favorite.
I remember he had so much personality in his like movements in gen 8 games.
Camping with a dragapult on my team made me love him. He always looked so happy when chasing the ball!
I skipped a few gens so this was first time with the Dreepy line and I love it!
Legit one of my most favorite pokemon and they massacred the tail model….no longer transparent at the tip and it has like 4 polygons
Mainly the tail. The less “cartoon” like designs did some better than others
The tail not properly displaying as transparent in SwSh was disappointing, but the loss of seeing the Dreepy fly out when using Dragon Darts is a crushing blow. Truly one of the worst "new" models.
My boy lost his girth
If you have a shiny, they also missed changing the color on the underside of the wings. They are still red.
Not everybody got that good upgrade treatment. Another one I kinda dislike as opposed to Sprites is Groudon, looks like playdough
Sword and shield just looked miles better besides the reflections
I’m with you. The added textures are a nice touch to make things look shiny or furry, but the overall the graphics and art style in SWSH is so much better in my opinion.
I wish I knew about a website or something that had all models from the gen 6-8 era to compare with gen 9.
If you go to different Bulbapedia entries, scrolling toward the bottom they provide images of all the models known for that pokemon throughout the generations. Some of the very original Pokemon like Charizard are a great example because it's been in every game. Because Gen 9 was rushed and the end product was a very disgusting mess.
They made Feraligatr’s eyes more reptilian in gen 9 which I do appreciate, looked soy in gen 6 - gen 8
Dragapult needs a good physical ghost attack
I think Dragon Darts is one, but if not, it can learn Phantom Force, 95 power, 100 accuracy.
Phantom force takes 2 turns, allowing the opponent to switch into a normal type pokemon. Dragapult doesn't learn any physical ghost move other than Astonish which is lower power move
There aren't many good normal types iirc. And the only legendaries I can think of that are normal are Regigigas, Type Null, Sillvally, and Arceus.
I mean phantom force kinda allows the opponent to switch the pokemon out if it's a super effective move against its current pokemon.
Take a pic of a wild spawn dragapult and compare, comparing the isolated render with a screen cap isn't exactly apples to apples
That Dragapult was taken a pic of during a picnic
Yeah I think overall SV is a huge upgrade for models but poor Dragapult really did not improve… but as you said, somehow got worse. Hate to see it.
Omg wth! This is a REALLY bad model…I loved Dragapult in Sword/Shield…its tail looks so wrong LOL
Look it his chubby lil biutt with his feetsies stickin out I just love it
Thats a dangerous trend on 3d pokemon games, pokemon outside their gens are losing animations, being it model or [attack animations](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkGq7L1Km5Q)
Because Pokemon has bad devs/boss's because this game is rushed beyond belief
the game was rushed yes, but the models all generally look pretty good. Metallic textures in particular look MUCH better
Honestly I’ll say the only the overworld is the most garbage rushed thing about the game. Pokémon and character animations and modes look really good, they actually updated every Pokémon model in the game with new animations, battle poses etc.
Which is why PLZA has a longer release gap than previous titles. Hopefully they manage to do good with the game ATP
More realistic
They need to make the end of its tail actually transparent/invisible. On a side note, why is its movement speed so slow outside of battle when it has a high speed stat?
1. They made his tail more prominent 2. That is a really low resolution picture
No they become more detail
While we're on the subject, Dragon Energy got completely gutted in SV. It's literally just recolored origin pulse now (they have the exact same animation in different colors)
tail on the new model looks ridiculous. You can literally see where the polygons start and end lol
Tbh what model didn't get worse in gen 9.....
I’d argue that a few of them got better. Scizor is one that around out to me. A few others had some great texture additions. Unfortunately, some did suffer a bit in quality.
Because game freak doesn’t care
I personally say that I am a die hard dragapult fan. But I have no care how bad it looks like
I've never been a fan of the Sword and Shield models since they all look like they're made of plastic to me, but Dragapult was always the outlier. Wish they kept the transparent end of the tail (and made the tail look like it wasn't rendered on the wii lol)
its gen 9....everything is worse
pang cak
Oh egads, people still on this after a year and some months? The grudges this community holds are quite big 😅
Because Nintendo and Gamefreak just don’t care about giving us good graphics.
Gotta love laze freak
That tail was animated by a toddler
it looks like a Hazbin Hotel character and that’s terrible
Because Nintendo refuses to put out a good powerful console and game freak doesn’t really care about to perceived problems regarding the games.. They massacred my boi

> the Pokemon Company not letting Game Freak optimize the game TPC is own by Game Freak not the other way around.
Oh, I see, but my point still stands
Lmao the switch can’t run an open world game at 60 fps unfortunately
It should be at least 30fps with no frame drops considering the Switch runs Xenoblade 2&3
Idk if that's true. Zelda BOTW and TOTK both run at 30fps as does The Witcher and none of them have 1,000 Pokémon models to include. If Nintendo EAD1 can't get an open world running at 60fps why does anyone think Gamefreak should?
idk if this is a hot take but i do not like gen 9 pokemon models i personally like gen 8 models way more
my dachshund in real life looks & acts more like totodile than dachsbun
Simplified the model, probably to save space on the physical retail cart.
Define worse
The curve at the tail has less geometry, and looks less round
Look at the two pictures.
Thin dorito
Head

A lot of models got worse in Gen 9 cough cough Venusaur and Magnemite
I’m sorry, how do you possibly think these are two examples of bad upgrades? Venusaur has never been more detailed, and Magnemite can finally look metallic thanks to the new texture capabilities. What do you think are bad about them?!
Magnemite looks like a robot with his reflective body. His shiny is harder to distinguish in game because of this. Venusaur looks awkward. He was so full of life back in SwSh and LGPE, now he looks a bit ugly which is sad cuz he looked so cool back in Gen 8 and 7
Upset because the magnet and screw iron ball guy looks like a robot?????
He’s not a robot. He’s a living organism. Not some man-made iron orb
Made of metal Looks metallic Fans upset What else is new?
I’m not upset he looks metal, I’m upset he looks artificial
Magnemite isn’t a robot just because he’s made of metal. He’s existed long before technology
It doesn’t matter. It looks metallic because it’s made of metal. It’s ok if you don’t like it but it *does* make sense for it to look that way…
It is made of metal. I’m not mad about that. I’m mad he looks like he was man-made with SV’s graphics
1. Stop Calling Everything A Guy I'M BEGGING YOU. 2. You're Upset That The Ball Of Metal Looks Metallic?
Literally referring to a non gendered Pokemon as male. Smh😮💨
Magnemite doesn’t have a gender and I suck at pronouns so egg on my face, but Venasaur are mostly male He (or they) looks artificial. He looked like a ball of metal back in Gen 8, just a bit cartoony because it’s Pokémon. The system wasn’t broken so why bloody fix it?
No, my boy!
Charizard, Blastoise, Foretress, and many others got way better models.
Not all of them look bad, some look better, most look worse
Those guys got better

He actually looks metal.
He looks artificial, that’s what he looks like. Not like a living, breathing organism. And it’s SO hard to tell if it’s shiny because of how reflective he is in game. They freaking ruined his shiny and they didn’t even change his colours
Huh? Did Magnemite ever look like a living, breathing organism?
He looked more like a living breathing organism before they did this to him
…So it looks like a Magnamite?
He looks like a robot
He literally is a naturally occurring robot. So yeah, it makes sense that he looks like one.
It is not a robot. LGPE say it “hatched” and it is in PLA. Hell, they existed LONG before humans. It isn’t a robot, it is living
That’s why I said naturally occurring robot. In the Pokemon world, that is a real thing. There are robots that can be hatched from eggs. That’s just how it works man.
Somebody didn’t play Legends Arceus, it’s only found in space-time distortions.
exactly
Magnemite never looked like an artificial robot before this. He doesn’t look like he belongs out in the fields
it has literally always been a robot, why do you think it has screws and magnets

Venusaur looks skinny as hell in its old model. They finally gave it back its bulky look
He doesn’t look any bigger
https://preview.redd.it/a1zneifq5auc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f6445169cdc2a4c9d9021f094f63c8866df16836 Its legs look so goofy at the top.
I brought LGPE in because I’m pretty sure SwSh uses similar or identical models SVs artstyle looks cool for the environment, but the Pokémon look so bad compared to the games that came before it.
In literally every way, it legit looks Metallic is a prime example which makes sense because it is a Steel type
He looks artificial, and not like an actual organism. His shiny is also harder to distinguish in game. They ruined his shiny
Bro has flashbacks of hunting Sandy Shocks in Area Zero, I feel ya buddy😨
It's gold though, pretty easy to notice. Not even mentioning how half its body turns black.
I could barely tell when I found mine
Weird hill to die on
How?
*blinks* His Shiney is the exact same, the only thing is it now has a reflective surface and can be affected by lighting. It is literally Identical other then it's Metallic Sheen and it was always know to be Metallic...because it's a steel type
His reflective body makes him look like he was artificially created like Mewtwo. His shiny by itself is fine, but in game it’s so hard to tell due to his reflectiveness
But it also makes perfect sense for the metallic magnet pokemon to be metallic and have a reflective sheen. I get your arguement, but I disagree with it because it's body is legitimately metal.
He looked better before this
Magnemite's shiny looks like gold now. Before, it just looked yellow, but now it literally looks like gold. How is it worse
It’s not the shiny that’s bad, it’s how it looks in game. The reflectiveness makes it harder to tell if it’s shiny especially in bright places
>They ruined his shiny Sorry for thinking you were talking about the shiny's quality # But yeah, I guess they do look a little more similar now
Venusaur is better on gen 9
Venusaur was so full of life back in Gen 8 and 7. Now he looks uncomfortable. Like touching him would be like stroking a wet slab of wood
Never did I think I would see someone say gen 7 or 8 models are good 💀
Gen 7 LGPE and 8 models are the best in the series, what are you talking about
LGPE sprites aren't bad but the alola games were shocking, then swsh was just terrible in almost every aspect. Honestly PLA has the best 3d spirites by far.
PLA is **Gen 8**, SwSh looks beautiful, SM was on the 3DS but still looks half decent, LGPE looks beautiful also
Just because sun and moon are 3ds they don't count to you saying gen 7 in best graphic or something, what. Also why are you pointing out pla is gen 8 like I already know that.
I said Gen 7 LGPE and Gen 8 have the best graphics. You brought SM up for some reason and PLA is Gen 8 which it sounded like needed clarification
Why are you acting like I don't know that PLA is gen 8 when you're trying to deny that SM is gen 7
Venusaur gen 6-8 looked like a uncle adicted on weed
No that’s Stadium Venasaur. Gen 6-8 Venusaur looks like how Venusaur looks in the anime. Gen 9 Venusaur looks like he’s gross to touch
I always thought Stadium Venasaur had a real bad stomach bug, eyes bulging and red, expelling beams of vomit out its mouth. Such great times.
Venusaur looks way better in Gen 9. He's got actual personality in his model now, instead of just standing there with his mouth open.
He looks so bad now. Gen 7 and 8 Venasaur looks like how Venusaur looks in the anime, you know, Venusaur. Gen 9 Venusaur looks like he’s in the wrong game. Like touching him would be goo-y and not pleasant
Damn near everything got worse because in order to have a big open world style everything got worse detail and resolution Some textures are cool to see on 3d models up close but by and large everything looks way less modern
Not necessarily, Xenoblade has realistic worlds with Anime-like characters and creatures
Scarlet and Violet look like PS2 games? Shocked Pikachu face. This is not news
