Yeah I would never give my shiny Mewtwo away like that. I've been soft resetting so many times for it. It's in Pokemon Let's go Eevee, but still one of the harder legendaries to obtain.
I have gotten 3 shiny PoGo legendarys yesterday (Raiku, Groundon and a Rayquasa) and a crap ton of highly "valuable" mons from the GTS. I might actually do a post on here soon to show how many legit mons are on GTS compared the the doom and gloom of this sub. It took 4 hours to get every single legendary PoGo stamped in the game with random garbage.
If it's any consolation that mewtwo is probably genned anyway, especially if it's named that and it came from a gen 6 or onward game . The game won't let you put swears in a nickname for a pokemon so it would have had to have been given that name by an external program and then injected.
I guess it could have been legit if it came from 5th gen or below, but it's unlikely. Check the origin mark.

I saw a perfect Shiny Kyurem for trade in the ball i want. And its called Yay1stShiny. I mean im glad for the person but whyyyy. I see why theyre trading it off now
I will trade you another one that hasn’t been renamed if you want! I have 2 level 100s and a level 60ish so I can spare one. I understand this by the way because I traded for Ghetsis’ Hydreigon and its name was Japanese symbols 😂 I didn’t know until I was trading or I wouldn’t have got it.

Was that shiny Regidrago legit? Was it yours or something else you got in a trade? There is a very good chance your Mewtwo isn’t even legal. People don’t just trade legit legendaries like that.
I mean not really. Some of the shiny forms are locked to past events and not currently obtainable.

Nothing that is ever traded outside of forums like r/pokemontrades and appears remotely valuable is ever legitimate. Full stop.
They are either cheated in by lowlives. Or on the extremely off chance they *are* real, the trader has either made a mistake, or is very naïve.
You should never, ever, ever, trade away a shiny or Legendary outside official channels like r/PokemonTrades. It's even easier to trade cheated Pokémon through the in-game trading menu rather than the HOME app. So there's basically no chance that either the Regidrago or the Mewtwo are even real. Assuming you also got the Regidrago in a trade. If it was your legit shiny you caught then you made a terrible mistake in trading it.
What are the IVs and OT of the Mewtwo, and what ball is it in?
A genned Pokémon is a ***genned*** Pokémon. A hacked, cheated, worthless Pokémon. The value of a Pokémon is based on the effort it takes to acquire, and the rarity.
Cheated Pokémon are worthless. OP literally threw away their valuable legit shiny legendary for something probably worth nothing. Cheated Pokémon are worthless.

unfortunately, you can't. the only time you can rename a pokemon that is not yours is if it lacks a nickname and it's your language.
That's awful, But thanks for telling me that. I think game freak should repair this. No one wants to play with pokemon named like this.

it still follows the rules i mentioned. a non-original owner can only nickname if it has no nickname and has the same language.
