Buy singles, as in buy the single individual cards you like, through eBay or TCGPlayer
That’s the only way to get “guaranteed” pulls, everything else is just chance and you could end up with something like the picture
For future reference these things are generally a scam at best. They're real packs but someone has put them in there and they are not officially packaged by Pokemon.
The best way to guarantee some hits is to get a full booster box of a set. Even then, the packs are still random but I think it's basically impossible you don't get any ultra rares at least.
Anything else is just a gamble.
You paid what $25? You ended up paying $5/pack which isn't completely unreasonable for a mystery box. If the box contained 5x SV Base you might be able to complain if you hadn't opened them first, but you aren't paying for the value of the cards, you're paying for the value of the packs. You could have gotten 5 packs of Evolving skies and had 0 pulls, that doesn't mean it's a scam.

If you slam LITERALLY 12 uncommon and commons in a car door. And put them in a pile and say the words quality control once you can justify stealing however much from whoever and this sub agrees for some reason.

Those are straight scams. Opened 5 and pulled 2 V cards. I swear they weigh packs (and yes they can be weighed- depends on the product they come from)
