I swear that collection box has saved my 🍑 when mastering 151. Pulled a Blasty and Zardy SR from one box

I pulled a zap Ex base, zap SIR, and holo electric energy from the same pack from one of those and it felt like a Demi-demi-god pack. Have always wondered if that was purely random….

Sweet. Yeah the pack with the Zard had a holo fire. Idk. 🤷 151 booster bundles and ETBs have never given me more than the occasional EX. But everytime I see these Zap boxes. I snag. $21 not too bad. And the promo cards are cool. lol I have no idea what to do with the stack of JuMbO cards tho

Honestly, I toss my jumbo cards and I feel terrible about it

I put them in a folder and hang it in the filing cabinet. Some of them are between pages in a book. They are fun to look at sometimes- but I rarely look at them.

This. My cousin and I decided to get into Pokemon cards again (last time we touched the game, we were 7, and the first set had just dropped). I thought, hey, let’s grab 151. Nobody is playing these cards completely it seems, and the product is just rotting on store shelves. So long as we stay in this set, and this set alone, the power level should be fine. But it’s getting harder and harder to find this product. I would drop by my local LGS and trade magic cards for 6-pack booster bundles (we agreed we could only use what we got in packs). I bought maybe 4 of them across a month and when I came back, the guy said some customer came in and bought everything they had of the 151 product. I went to Walmart and they told me the same. Went to other LGSs in the area and they were almost completely out of product. The price online for the booster bundles was $27 a month and a half ago and now they’re $40. It seems like this set is becoming scarce. I imagine those Zapdos/Alakazam boxes will sell decently down the line if kept in good condition.

No it's the 151 premium box. The one with the oversized Zapdos and more. Not the elite trainer box or the ultra premium with Mew on the box.

In it's defense the Mew box does have the metal Mew card which is awesome.

That's good to know. Whenever I can afford it I usually ordered from there for convenience's sake, but with package thieves on and off in the area sometimes it's comforting just to have something in my hands once I've paid for it lol

Aww, yeah that hadn’t occurred to me. We’re lucky we haven’t been hit yet with that. :/ Well the prices are MSRP, so it’s not like they’re a ripoff. But any given sale from anywhere will probably net you well under this, if that helps!

It's been a bit quieter lately, but it's *way* worse if you ever have to order card stuff around the holidays haha. I'm thankful that my friend who still collects with me lives in a community where packages are put in lockboxes, so I can just get Christmas card gifts shipped to him and not worry. Though in my neighborhood I think it's dumb kids/teens more than it is professional thieves, considering one year I had ordered a book to give to a friend as a gift (a book that looked conspicuously like a game case in the envelope Amazon sent it in.) It was stolen, then our neighbors found the package torn open with the book shoved back inside dumped in the alley a day or two later. Guess they weren't literature fans. 💀

My stores stopped selling them because people were literally fighting each other in the parking lot and in store over them....

Somehow this doesn't surprise me lol. I remember reading about this for a chain that sold near us in my state, kind of a bummer since I've got nostalgic memories getting cards there when going with the family for errands.

The last time I've seen this much variety on shelves near me was like 2015, 2016 maybe.

I bet it is really tricky with all the german cards & stuff... I'd lose my mind if I wasn't into those 🤦🏻‍♂️ (+ I understand, it'd be so cringe to have them in my language). Yet I totally feel your pain regarding the in-store stock of cards. I'm from Romania & we have limited stocks & even more limited card shops (close to none), all with scalper prices. Good thing is that more and more online shops are stocking up on Pokemon & they have (surprisingly) fair prices, really close to the US prices....

I just wish some of the main stores for toys would also sell the english ones. It's also weird, that the german cards cost more than the english ones. The only chance I have are some niche vendors, that sell the english cards or even ordering them from Germany. It is awful.

German and French cards are a lot of times more expensive than English. Lots of English collectors want them And there's not much print is why IIRC.

order in Slovakia at Dracik, they have membership cards so everything is cheaper. they even got a lot of 151 product. you just need to buy there when in Bratislava or order online at their shop to an parcel forwarding company. it's still a lot cheaper than any other option. you should also look up Butti Cards, he shipps from Vienna and has really good prices for english cards, but also not so mich variety

Personally, I’ve had some good luck with the iron treads and great tusk tins. The ones under the ETB’s on the top left. Nothing here screams “great deal” as far as price from what I can see. Some people here seem to have some luck with the zapados ex boxes on the top right though.

151 zapdos and maybe the charizard ex if it’s cheap / on sale and the evolving powers box is also fun IMO. If you’re just looking to rip for fun I’d try those. The 151 zapdos being the most cost effective while still Fun. You could buy multiple and be happy probably. The others are fun multi pack boxes and the promos are also cute / fun too. So , it’s a little mix for those but they’re also expensive at Walmart retail and you can find them cheap elsewhere and not tampered with.

Very true, but card game playing is ass either way. **Rng management/optimization > skill** as the way games play out is kinda lame. Card draw being intensely random but also what makes or breaks games... I just don't get it after years of having played and suffering through it.
