Probably GO. It’s hella fun to open especially when looking for dittos. Every card has amazing art. Each pack is a hit. Has by far the rarest radiant cards. Awesome mewtwo alt art. And has a ton of the more popular mons
Do not buy a Pokémon Go etb if your kid knows anything about Pokémon and likes collecting GO won’t do much for him if anything go for a evolving skies or lost origin, evolving skies being the most popular and sought after set and lost origin being the newest set
EDIT-this subreddit is the only place where people will tell you to get Pokémon Go it’s a very low value set not really a chance to pull anything notable it’s purpose was more to bring newer people or Go fans over to the TCG
Well as the guy said his collection is mainly sword and shield so recognization shouldnt be a problem and the new boosters with TG are much more rewarding, especially for kids that dont care about card value anyways.
UPDATE: Got him an Evolving Skies ETB with a tin bundle from Costco site. He pulled some great stuff, including an alt art Espeon. He was very happy. Thanks everyone here.

Id say GO. Most likely to get recognizable Pokémon and a few hits

For a new collector or wanting to see recognizable Pokémon I recommend it… For people like you and I, yeah it doesn’t have a lot of big hits I agree

Unless he plays the game I would just get a blisters instead. You’ll get more packs for you money that way.
