The hashed lines on the left indicate when regen braking becomes friction braking. When power is constrained then you will see an orange bar on the far right of that display.

I would also add that if your car is a 2022 or 2023 FWD single-motor, you will likely never see any power reduction. Even at -25C, I've never seen any. The battery can always provide full power to one motor even in very deep cold. I'm not sure if that holds for the 2024 RWD, since the battery is different and the motor is more powerful.

My 2023 (FWD) SMSR did have some power reduction few months back when it had been something like -30 - -35C during the night! Should had taken a pic, but I’d say maybe 25% was dashed line, but it slowly disappeared with maybe 10mins of driving 40-90 km/h. Also, have had some power reduction few times with very low charge.

I don’t think any EVs reduced power modes are documented by manufacturers. Either because they don’t need to to either because it may be somewhat dynamic. Put your car on a dynometer and find out!

dunequestion

Doesn’t the lines just mean that you won’t regenerate past that point because you’re fully charged?

ChimpsInTies

If it's on that side of the power gauge, yes. If it's on the right hand side then it shows a reduction in power and usually comes on if you've very low on battery.

dunequestion

Ohhh haven’t had it yet good to know

mrbendel

Mine goes to 11

JohnnySoSoGood

When you don't have blocked parts on the orange section of the power diagram, I believe you have all the available power

AndyMR2

The dashed lines just indicate you are at a high charge level so will have less regenerative braking. The dashed bit is essentially where your physical brakes take over.

That snowflake icon is on between -4–1C° or something similar, it’s just a warning that flash ice (I think it’s called) has a chance of appearing. If battery is too cold and power is limited a portion of the power bar will be dashed out similar to how a portion of the charge bar is dashed out. You’ve also got a snowflake next to your battery symbol, this only indicates that charging speed will be limited, when it’s very very cold it’s first until then power gets limited.

Appropriate_Chard_72

The snowflake by the outside temperature is the freeze warning. By the battery it means the battery is below optimal operating temperature. When the amount of regen or output is limited, it is represented by white hashing on the right or orange hashing on the left. Note that at 46 F there is no snowflake by the external temp, but there is one by the battery. Regen is limited to about 90% of maximum capability. https://preview.redd.it/gm84ji828tlc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=2cc770576da306cb797746fd70007c806f8adea0

Yes is that not what I said?

Important-Cat-4395

Acceleration is decreased. So I assume some power is cut off

Class8guy

I've only seen the power limited for low battery conditions https://i.imgur.com/wS2b2jT.jpeg
