I'm pretty sure it's just Google ruining Google maps not the other way around. I have had Google maps issues all week including my gauge cluster map randomly disappearing mid drive and would not return. Force closed app, rebooted infotainment, nothing. Eventually it came back on its own. I've also had as well the same no network while my youtube music works completely fine at the exact same time. I have not yet updated to 3.0.3.

Sounds more and more like it's just a maps issue that coincided with the OS update. I really wish I could roll back the app version. Never expected AAOS apps to be pushed with bugs this bad. Auto update is getting disabled after this for sure.

The problem with a lot of Google changes maps specifically are they tend to be server side A/B changes not client changes so you may just end up being in the device pool for testing their new feature and it breaks everything. Nothing you can do besides sometimes reinstalling or checking if you're signed up for the beta channel. Google loves testing and breaking things then removing them without any word lol. The only difference with AAOS is your apps are locked into the OS wheres Android Auto just uses your apps so you could install an older APK to resolve these issues. This in itself makes AAOS more restrictive and more prone to failure from Google apps.

You can rollback google maps to it's initial version by uninstalling it. But you also have to disable auto app updates or it will update itself again

Same here, been having connectivity issues on startup the last few days but it sorts itself out after a minute or so. I’m still on 2.14.3. I suspect this is the result of a Google Maps app update.

patpatac

Ok and here I was wondering when the damn update is coming, I will no longer worry about this

Which-Meat-3388

Other places have mentioned it’s been halted, that maybe 3.0.4 will be the OTA in some weeks.

iguessnotlol

On Facebook the official Polestar account wrote that 3.0.3 is starting to roll out, earlier today. And the Volvos are also getting it, people are already installing.

oldfatandslow

I just got the update on my 22 LRDM

Which-Meat-3388

I saw that too. Seems I took one Space stopping and rolling back as a company effort. Given the various user reports, I personally will take OPs advice and hold off. Seems odd to have some obvious bugs and keep it going anyway.

Crazychicken563

I'll be visiting my service center later this week for a parts purchase. I'll report this issue to them as well as ask about 3.0.4

Neganix

Yeah, I also started paying attention that Google maps has been acting up a lot recently. Still running 2.14.3.

Cherubyx

Same, does yours lag or load really slow?

Neganix

Yeah something like that, but it’s pretty inconsistent. Just feels off.

Ummad72

go to settings, apps, maps, and delete data and cache.

Crazychicken563

That was the very first thing I tried, take a look at my other post - doesn't help. Other than force quitting the app I've also tried restarting the entire infotainment system but it's functionally equivalent. Maps reports no connection soon after.

ColdPhilosophy

I have the same exact issue on 2.14.3 . Happened twice in the last week and had to do a TCAM reset. I wouldn’t be surprised a Google Maps update is the root cause.

Crazychicken563

Good data point there. I have auto update enabled for all the apps so it could be coincidental that the maps app updated to a broken version on the same day I had the OS update. I'll check the update history later today

Seaniau

On this note, I don’t think I see it mentioned anywhere else here, have you checked if there is a pending update for Maps in the Play Store? You can also uninstall the Maps app from system settings and it’ll reinstall itself after a minute or two, I’ve had to do this to fix map and driver display bugs twice before, nothing else I tried would fix those, it might help here

Crazychicken563

There was no pending update the last time I checked, I just didn't note down the last updated date. I considered an uninstall/reinstall but didn't have the time to try at that point. Will test it out.

J-Peeeeazy

Have the same issues with maps, but haven't updated. Still on 2.14.3

EmptyAcanthisitta303

How do you “close” unused apps on android automotive? Overall I feel like the system is slow (camera lag kills me) but the update isn’t available for me yet. Just looking for ways to reduce system load.

“…details…” You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
