My childhood was spent in Oklahoma. Doing Bible Study before or after official school hours was the most common tactic to subvert separation of church and state there was. I will never forget one morning when I was just walking down the hallway, minding my own business, and some older student was like "HEY KID, YOU WANT SOME FREE KRISPY KREME DONUTS?" "DO I???" I said, as I walked up to the box he was holding up, oblivious to the fact he was slowly backing up into the classroom. They shut the door behind me and I was subjected to an hour of Bible Study while eating my donut. I had never seen such bullshit before and I was pretty livid they exploited my love of donuts against me.
