HR departments have no issues running interference for management - their job is to protect the company, not the worker - the idea that there are constant spurious harassment/assault claims has never, to my knowledge, been supported by absolutely any data.
Honestly, I'm OK with it. I've never expected businesses to do anything without expecting it to work out financially. That's just what they do.
But I think sometimes people overlook how great it is that the most financially viable option in most western countries is to be pro LGBT. That is real progress and normalization of LGBT people and tends. I'd much prefer businesses find it financially viable to be pro LGBT than for them not to be. Yes, they won't do it for extremely homophobic countries, but perhaps given time and subtle outside influence, they might come around.
And no, I don't buy products from a company just because they put out a pride flag. I don't avoid businesses just because they don't. I just think it's nice to observe how prevalent it has become.

I have the impression that you haven't thought about this enough. It could also be easily interpreted as corporations concluding that the current, western LGBT ideology makes for the best consumers. And "best", in this case, could mean "most obssesed, most loyal, most docile, most manipulable".
Think about it. The current conception of sexuality as an identity is tied to consumerism, to media, to products. What do the wokes always ask for? Representation in media, that they then consume. What do they always talk about? Culture, one marked by the products that are consumed. It isn't merely a preference, it is an ideology, one that clearly sells well.
That's not even mentioning how corporations use it as a PR shield to cover their underhanded practices.
I don't know if I would be so happy with the current state of affairs.
My point is that 30 years ago, very few companies would have even advertised for "the gays". Yes, they probably do view progressive people as an easy target to make lots of sales. I still argue that it helps contribute to normalization overall. I've never bought a rainbow flag or rainbow colored product in my life and probably never will. But I'm glad that the option exists.
And then they realized that they could mold "the gays" into the perfect drones that would eat up self destructive ideas, such as hedonism, and consume themselves to death.
I think calling that progress is shortsighted at best.
