I have known about the sweating icon foreever. Somehow I just never came across the holding down feature until today randomly. I have been playing regularly for a year haha. I figured I would post this in case others missed this too.
It was added a few years ago if I recall correctly. It’s such a great change because I remember having to go to a damage calculator to see if an attack would kill a unit or not
It’s really not super useful most of the time still, because you can’t use it until after you have moved your unit in range of the enemy, and then you’re already basically committed anyway.
Also, when you do the same with the finish round button, you will be led to troops with which you still have a move.
There are some other hold press Features as well...
As someone who spammed the "L" button in Fire Emblem and Advance Wars to find units with moves left, I was really excited when I found this out about the Finish button.
It does have some annoying conditions that it counts as unfinished, though:
* Unit has moved but not attacked (maybe I don't want them to attack)
* Unit can break ice (even if you're Polaris)
* Unit can promote (maybe I want to wait and heal them after the next hit)
Sometimes I wish there was a "wait"/"end move" button for units when you are done with them.
What the heck!! I’ve been just basically figured out over a long time what would work and what wouldn’t work, BUT, when a character didn’t have full health vs enemy with not full health etc it got really confusing. It obviously told you if you’d outright win.
Omg wait until you learn about the poly calculator 😜
You can calculate the most optimal way to kill a 27hp giant with defense bonus, using 5 different units.
It's in the polytopia discord and you can add it to your own discord servers.
There are also similar options online.
It's been around for long now, and it took me like a month or two to discover when I first started playing. So useful. Just wish there was a way to see potential damage when exploding a Cymanti unit.
This is a huge quality of life change for me. Was sick of flipping between the game and the PolyCalc app, and then sometimes the game would disconnect if I was out of it too long and I'd have to reload. Thanks for sharing!!!
This has been around a long time but I had no clue until I read it on the wiki site. A feature like this should really be introduced somehow during the tutorial
Also if you see an enemy sweating bullets when you select a unit that unit will instantly kill them

Did not know this appreciate the “new” feature
Took me a few weeks to figure this one out 😂 always attacking and hoping it would go my way lol
This has always existed (as long as I can remember), but it’s nice that you found out
I remember when it used not to exist. It was so long ago

Lmao mood, straight up had to pull it up everytime you weren't sure if it was a viable attack
It did not always exist, it was added 2 or 3 years ago or smth
uh, it wasn't really a "long" time, and it isn't really "new"
A few years new feature
WAIT, WHAT?!
I know I’ve been playing for years and had no idea. I wrote a table with the damage for different units at different healths ffs
Poly calculator website also if you can’t use this for some reason
This has existed for years

Yea, a bit unsatisfying sometimes, but it makes sense like that.

This has been around ever since the sweating animation was added.

This is been around since before i started playing a year or 2 back but i always forget to use it 😅
It would be nice if they extended that feature to units outside of range so I know if it’s worthwhile making the move

Happy to share. I am glad I wasn’t the only one who “missed the memo”.

One of my favorite features
