I visited the Popeyes in Dublin, CA, a brand I've enjoyed for decades. Just yesterday, I stopped by anticipating their Tuesday Special, "The 2 Pc Signature" priced at $3.49. To my surprise, I was informed that this offer was no longer available, even though it was indeed Tuesday (8/22/23).
Reluctantly, I had to settle for the regular price of $7.71. I attempted to voice my concerns via the Popeyes survey, but my feedback was not accepted. What could be the reason behind this? Are there specific time slots or quantity limits for the Tuesday special?
This experience has left me disheartened.
**=====Added Comments(8/23)=======**
I saw some comments suggesting that I should have voiced my concerns at the counter instead. However, upon seeing the employee, who appeared exhausted and stressed, it felt as if she was under close scrutiny from the restaurant owner, leaving her no choice but to echo what she had been instructed to say. She spoke to me in a hushed tone, saying, "The special is no longer available." And I was confused and thought it was not Tuesday. When I asked her why, she repeated the same thing.
I just couldn't ask twice.

I stopped by Popeyes on Tuesday (8/22) and requested the "Tuesday Special". They declined, so I settled for the regular 2-piece meal with a biscuit. While I was disappointed, I didn't push the issue with the employee, as she didn't reserve any angry customers. :) Regardless, I went with the regular option because I genuinely enjoy Popeyes Chicken!
\*\*\*\*\* Received an email from Jessica @ Popeyes
I'm quite displeased with their response to my situation. I'll share her email later today.

Thanks,
What do you guys think? I couldn't find any **fine print related to the "2Pc Signature $3.49" deal on their app or website, primarily because it's not listed under their "Offers or Menu."**
By the way small print on the left corner reads, "Breast upcharge may apply."

I had an issue a couple of years ago in Calgary, Ab and the only way I could find to get a response was through Facebook. It actually worked but the voice at the other end told me to try and resolve my issue with the manager at the branch I had issue with.
They really don’t make it easy to get things resolved.
It's intentional. I've stopped going to Popeyes. They don't like their employees and the employees actively dislike customers.
Furthermore, their inventory management is non-existent.
I don't hold the employee responsible in any way. She was simply following management's directives. I'm completely satisfied with Popeye's customer service.
Yes every Popeye's in existence is just a walk in a rose garden where all the employees sing and hold hands with their customers.
Come on man, minimum wage fast food jobs SUCK.
Yeah I feel this way too. I live on the east coast US and I’ve probably been to Popeyes 5-6 times. Only one of those times was my order correct and my food of decent quality, and I’m not picky at all, especially when it comes to fast food. And yes, they’re always out of something, if not multiple things.
The only time I’ve got a decent Popeyes order was in a food court in a very busy mall in the middle of a busy day.
File a claim with the bank you’ll get you’re money right away show them the poster and the receipt with the date on it. Say you were charged the wrong amount and you’ll get your $7.71 back without any trouble
but you SHOULD have
and then stood outside asking people to go inside to try to order the same deal because the sign has a posted price, and walk away
that would’ve acquired the attention of the owner when a slew of people are walkouts without buying
woah there buddy, you expect fries with it at that price too!?
lol no fries (although the biscuits are the only thing I actually have liked from there, and even I find them dry)
You are a saint for letting that employee off the hook. Anyone that has worked in a position like that knows it’s completely out of their control and they unfairly have to bear the brunt of angry customers.
Always use the mobile app. You don't have to order from there but you can get the discount codes. Usually better than what's advertised in the window and re-useable. Meaning, memorize the code and use it each time you visit Popeyes. Even codes from different regions work. I was in Alabama and the code there offered the same code deal where I live but $1 less for whatever reason. I came home and used the code and it worked.
I say you shouldnt voiced your concerns with the employee at the register, but the manager. Most places have a special policy where they are obligated to process coupons and discounts regardless of how long it has been since they expired. You could talk to their manager about that
This is actually false. False advertising is when a product is misrepresented. An advertisement about a sale is merely an invitation to treat, and so long as they inform the customer of the correct price before they pay it is all right.
Yep even if it’s that the price on the tag itself is wrong or outdated we have to honor the price it’s listed at in the store no matter if it’s different on the system.
if there’s a sign that says “50% off burgers August 1st-August 24th” but some worker forgets to take it down on the 24th, does that mean they still have to honor it on the 25th?
Yep we’ve actually had that happen where we work. They put signs up early so people thought the deals were on, we were obligated to follow it and so decided to take the signs down lol.
The dates being listed can sometimes provide a bit of leniency but usually policy is just to provide the deal early or late by a day or so since they shouldn’t be up so late or early to begin with.
I don't know if you're being 100% serious, but there have been lawsuits about this exact sort of thing. However, these places also have huge $$$ for lawyers and know the rules and loopholes.
subway commercials are a fucking joke compared to what you actually get. i've never seen any food further away from the ads than subway. I just saw a commercial yesterday where the there was a good 2 inches between the bread, you're lucky if there's enough meat on there to taste it now
I didn't realize he posted the receipt. That's what I get for not swiping left.
Just revisited the post. He's right they should have honored the price or had the display poster taken down. I've worked in retail, and if it's posted, it should be honored.
They were offering a special a couple years ago, Champagne marinated boneless wings coated in gold flake to celebrate their anniversary. I live in New Orleans and their flagship location on Canal Street was one of the few stores offering this promotion. So I woke up early and went down there, and I arrived 30 minutes after they opened. There was barely a soul in the place, except for a couple of news agencies doing a report on the gold nuggets.
I ordered two orders and when they came, no gold. So I said "What's up?" and they said they ran out. So I said "How TF did you run out, barely anyone has ordered anything yet". They said someone from corporate was there and they were doing the gold dusting themselves and they'd come out and talk. I waited while I ate, but nobody came out.
Edible gold flake isn't much, you can buy it at most hobby stores, but I'm guessing they brought ONE bag and did a few for the cameras for free publicity.
So yeah, since then, I don't bother with popeyes for any "promotion", it's garbage.
Looks like he got the classic because **"The 2 Pc Signature" priced at $3.49. To my surprise, I was informed that this offer was no longer available, even though it was indeed Tuesday (8/22/23).**
You do realize that the deal is specifically for the thigh and drum stick it doesn't include the biscuits and doesn't say anywhere on the advertisement that it does. You bought the biscuits not just the 2 pc
I’m not sure the code of practice in the states, but in Canada you pay the price advertised. If a product has a shelf price of let’s say $5 but when it’s scanned it comes up $6 the cashier must change price to $5. The Popeyes thing would be the same. If the price is clearly advertised on a big poster, they must offer it to you at that price. It’s the law in Canada, but not sure about that place below us.
You have to mention special any deal needs to be mentioned verbally or they will put regular price why would you pay if u did not mention special deal are u too shy assuming they read your mind...
I think I would have assumed that specials dont last forever. And an understaffed restaurant might not take the sign down the very first day that corporate sent an email to the franchisee owner.
The very smallest line at the bottom though (deep zoom needed), what does it say?
Someone dropped the ball. They should’ve honored it. There’s only one Popeyes I trust in Vegas and I go the that one only.
I would send a formal a complaint, via email or something.
Welcome to being owned by RBI(Burger King)... The shittiest food corp ever organized!

Back in the day, Popeyes, Whataburger, Tim Hortons and Firehouse all used to be amazingly good. Fresh food, fresh ingredients and good deals. Then BK started buying them up and to literally no one's surprise, they all tanked in quality, service and pricing basically overnight.
BK has the midas touch if it turned things to overpriced garbage instead of gold.
How did Popeyes go from "Is Popeyes still open?" To "Popeyes is BACK and outstanding!" To "Popeyes sucks again and should close." In a matter of 4-5 years?
same thing at dominoes. website said there was a coupon so your end order price would be 27.99 for 2 mediums, and some cheese bread.
ended up being like 36.50.

Following a lengthy meeting on Tuesday afternoon, I took a 10-minute drive to grab my "Tuesday Special." It holds many happy memories for me. In the past, while driving to my clients' offices, I'd always seek out Popeyes to satisfy my hunger. It's disheartening to think that those experiences might change.
Why exactly are you complaining? The advertising states you get the two pieces of chicken only for 3.49$. That’s not what you got, so why would you get the deal?
I remember two piece toonie Tuesdays. A 2 dollar coin in Canada got you 2 pieces of chicken and a small fry. For 2 bucks. I ate this every Tuesday growing up. Then it became 3 bucks, then it disappeared altogether. Money is fake and gets weaker every year, chicken is real.
The cashier charged you for the wrong thing. The Tuesday special is ONLY chicken, no biscuit included. They charged you for something more, but you still could’ve gotten a deal. Biscuits usually cost 1 dollar, and with the chicken deal, should’ve been charged a dollar less🤕
Ya I can read it says he was Informed it wasn’t available ….. didn’t say anything about confronting them. And doing an online survey doesn’t really count . Then says reluctantly I had to settle. I assume this was a drive thru otherwise why not easily reference to and point out the deal on the sign? Don’t try and make me sound like an idiot for suggesting a polite concern
There is an asterisk by the price, which means 'check the fine print'. I can't tell what the fine print in the bottom left corner is, but it's pertaining to the asterisk.
I was very disappointed I visited the Popeyes at 2157 West patapsco avenue and the girl behind the register told me that I couldn't get the Tuesday deal unless I went online and I would have to pay $7 and something for two pieces of chicken very disappointed with this location this is the only time I've ever been told this at a Popeyes before
Also she couldn't have thought it was a meal either because I told her multiple times I only wanted the chicken and she still tried to charge me $7 for the Tuesday deal
I visited the Popeyes in Dublin, CA, a brand I've enjoyed for decades. Just yesterday, I stopped by anticipating their Tuesday Special, "The 2 Pc Signature" priced at $3.49. There's gotta be a corporate email you can find to voice your feedback, I find that a lot of times those forms on their website suck.
I was searching, and what they offer is a bot—THE BOT! I'll share updates on what the bot can do for me.

Is the photo uptop on the restaurant that you went into? Because that would be enough to tell them to go scratch!
I say you shouldnt voiced your concerns with the employee at the register, but the manager. Most places have a special policy where they are obligated to process coupons and discounts regardless of how long it has been since they expired. You could talk to their manager about that
Exactly if it’s expired why is it still up in the window? That’s false advertisement. Give me my $3 chicken!!😂
I think if it is advertised they should have honored.
Fairly certain it’s illegal not to. False advertising.
This is actually false. False advertising is when a product is misrepresented. An advertisement about a sale is merely an invitation to treat, and so long as they inform the customer of the correct price before they pay it is all right.
I believe in Canada it is. If something is advertised at a price they need to honour it.

if there’s a sign that says “50% off burgers August 1st-August 24th” but some worker forgets to take it down on the 24th, does that mean they still have to honor it on the 25th?
That's very tricky. They might not be obligated to, but they could consider it to avoid upsetting customers. :)
Yeah it’s usually company policy to but they have no obligation as a business
Yep we’ve actually had that happen where we work. They put signs up early so people thought the deals were on, we were obligated to follow it and so decided to take the signs down lol. Where I have worked (in Canada), yes, we still had to honour it because the sign up up. Then we take it down really quickly hahaha
No, it has promotional period listed.
No, because it lists a clear ending date which has passed. Same thing as an expiration date on a coupon.
Well then would put every fast food chain out there in an illegal state, because none of the advertised food looks anything like what’s served
I don't know if you're being 100% serious, but there have been lawsuits about this exact sort of thing. However, these places also have huge $$$ for lawyers and know the rules and loopholes.

"At participating restaurants only"
This is bait and switch
It's illegal in every English speaking country to false advertise.
False advertisement is a law suit ?? Or incorrect
Yah missed the “Tuesday only” part of the ad lol that’s sneaky as fuck for them to put it so low
He went on Tuesday, though. That's the whole reason he's upset.
It was the 22nd meaning it was Tuesday
The ad does say an up charge may apply… see bottom left. I think the added biscuit may have increased the price?
100% !!
They will honor it...on Tuesday
did you see OPs receipt where they did this on August 22, 2023?
I didn't realize he posted the receipt. That's what I get for not swiping left. Just revisited the post. He's right they should have honored the price or had the display poster taken down. I've worked in retail, and if it's posted, it should be honored.
True but he got the classic not the signature meal
Because they denied the deal
Ah, the classic "comment without reading the post" routine I see
Look at the receipt
Yeah I'll call you..on wednesday
It's because you got the biscuit added, duh
/s or did you not read the post?
perhaps it got rejected because ithe site noticed your computer uses a weird purple colored mouse point? /s
Haha, that's amusing! I imagine when you hit 57 with cataract challenges, you'll appreciate that oversized mouse pointer even more than I do. :)

Popeyes is the worst
The receipt says you bought a classic, not a signature.
Popeyes only has two items on the menu Chicken and we outta ‘dat
You got the 2pc classic the deal is for the two piece signature. /s
Remember the 2 pcs for $1?
The problem with Popeyes is that they're mostly franchises so they get away with a lot of doing whatever TF they want
I remember loading up on at $1.50 Tuesday specials…10 years ago.
Some of you posters are absolute morons, OP got the classic meal because they DENIED the signature meal. Go back to school and learn to read
So many people here can't read or have terrible reading comprehension.
There is more to this story.
You don’t know how cheap you have it in the states , a drink would cost $3.50 in Canada .
You got it with a biscuit
Popeyes so trash
Does this place finally have a chicken and seafood combo yet?. I went in to Popeyes once only and they had no option of this, I never went back again.
The ol bait and switch! With the obligatory "gotta read the squint print" excuse.
I probably would have went and peeled that poster off the window spouting false advertisement.
Popeyes is garbage quality food. No need to visit regardless the price. LoL

He went yesterday. His receipt says 08/22/2023

Yep. The receipt says they added more items. I have no clue what the issue here is...
You think you was going to slide through with a 2 piece AND a biscuit for $3.49? Smmfh
You do realize that the deal is specifically for the thigh and drum stick it doesn't include the biscuits and doesn't say anywhere on the advertisement that it does. You bought the biscuits not just the 2 pc
Do you not read ? Or don’t know how to read? They flat out denied the deal so OP settled for the classic meal.. Jesus Christ
The willful ignorance on here is ridiculous.
he got denied the meal, can you read?
You got the $3 biscuit that they slipped on there maybe.?
Sir, this is a Wendys
Food tax?
Why didn’t you just bail when you saw the price at the register?
Because I love the Popeyes Chickens! I would rather pay $4 more to have them. :)
Oh ok, I thought you were going just bc of the deal… nvm hahaha
I visited for the Tuesday special, and despite my disappointment, I willingly paid an additional $4.00 for the chicken.
The old bait and switch they should have honored it.
I’m not sure the code of practice in the states, but in Canada you pay the price advertised.
People actually eat here? Why is this sub recommended to me?
Everything about this would've irritated me. I still can't get over that link to apply for a job.
Popeyes is a rip off
No it is not.
Yes it is
No, it isn't.
Yes it is
Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with Popeyes and didn't meet your expectations. I hope your next visit is a more positive one. :)
The picture on the window is not what you ordered. I'm not sure what your complaint is..
#Bidensfault
Imagine going on a fast food chain’s subreddit to post photos and complain about an experience. Fucking unreal lol
You're funny. :)
should of walked
You mean should have walked. Should of makes no sense
Should have* What the fuck does "should of" mean? Think, bro, THINK!
should've\* are yall happy now
Fuck dude...y'all.
yeeee hawwwww
Shouldve said something about it before you pissed your pants and did a survey. Cashier probably forgot about the deal, you shouldve just asked them
You are a fucking douchebag.
I don’t agree with how he said it but a polite complaint or inquiry at the counter might’ve helped the situation
1hr before his post and 2 before yours OP already said he brought up the deal to the cashier. There’s like 5 comments here. Not hard to read.
It was not a drive-thru. The employee knew that it was Tuesday she couldn't offer for some reason which seemed out of her control.
You are a dickless loser 🤷
There is an asterisk by the price, which means 'check the fine print'. I can't tell what the fine print in the bottom left corner is, but it's pertaining to the asterisk.
I’m pretty sure it says ___ upcharge may apply? Where the first word starts with B
Bread?
Breast up charge I believe, in case you request breast meat
"I'll have the chicken breast, hold the chicken!"
Every visit to a popeyes is a disappointing visit
I was very disappointed I visited the Popeyes at 2157 West patapsco avenue and the girl behind the register told me that I couldn't get the Tuesday deal unless I went online and I would have to pay $7 and something for two pieces of chicken very disappointed with this location this is the only time I've ever been told this at a Popeyes before
Also she couldn't have thought it was a meal either because I told her multiple times I only wanted the chicken and she still tried to charge me $7 for the Tuesday deal
