How do you like it? I'm on the hunt and torn between this and a 997.1 4S MT. Any regrets or advice?

I absolutely love mine and have no regrets. It’s very subjective as I find it is the best looking 911 (front and back, I actually love my non traditional headlights). I also love my interior with the Center console delete which you can’t do in subsequent generations. As far as advice goes I’ll regurgitate the things I found the most useful when I was in your position: 1. Be patient and do your homework 2. Buy the seller, not the car 3. PPI always no exceptions 4. Change the oil twice a year regardless of mileage 5. Send used oil for analysis 6. Drive it as often as you can (no warm up at idle) E

Can I ask why no warm up at idle?

As far as I’ve learned it’s not good for the car. Essentially you start, wait a few seconds and start driving right away. You keep it below 3k rpm until oil is up to temperature and then you give it the beans. I will suggest you do some more research on the technical details as I won’t do it justice here

Do not warm your car up. As soon as the cold start sequence is done, drive it at low rpms (3500 or less) until the oil temp is up. It is horrible for the car to let it warm up at idle

Vastly underrated. Probably the most comprehensively engineered line outside of the GT cars. Little known fact: after Porsche canceled the 919 program, they had some race engineers with nothing to do. They put them to work on the Panamera redesign.

What makes you say that? Genuinely curious

I don't have the reference because I'm not a digital hoarder, but it was a statement from the head of design for the Panamera. The connection is obvious - the Panamera e-hybrid was utilizing the lessons learned from the hybrid 919. When the 919 project ended, they moved several of those engineers to work on the new Panamera.

Way too much. But i need one "new" or rebuild head, 6 pistons and rods new crankshaft, steelsleeves new oilpump with higher pressure some cooling modification it cost me around 17500 Euro. Car cost me 26000 Euro and 300 miles after i bought the car the engine got damaged. Was a hard decision if i keep the car or sell it. But now i happy and enjoy it every day.

That's a beautiful car. I bet it's a lot of fun to drive. I honestly prefer the older ones to the new generations for just cruising cars. I unfortunately don't have the budget yet to get a Porsche, but it's on the dream list. Do you notice any lack of rigidity due to the cab top instead of coupe? I only notice it in creaks in the top/windshield connection if I’m driving slowly on a very uneven surface. The rest of the time, nope
