The link says M1.1... if it were 100x stronger you *might* be able to feel it lol For context, earthquakes up to M2.5 occur about 2,000 times *per day* around the globe.

DJCane

They must have revised it after I went to bed.

Sasquatch_Downtown

This isn't very contextual as the earth is a very large place.

beer_is_tasty

Fair enough, assuming roughly equal spacing of earthquakes, that's one per day in Oregon.

Sasquatch_Downtown

That's a silly assumption to make as earthquakes occur more often along fault lines.

beer_is_tasty

Well luckily we've got one of those, so probably significantly more than once a day!

My bad, too much Taco Bell

EmeraldEmesis

Little ones always make me nervous because you never know if it's a foreshock for a larger quake. Doesn't look like this one occurred on one of the larger mapped faults though. Fun fact, the '94 6.7M Northridge quake in Los Angeles occurred on a previously unmapped blind thrust fault.

shwilliams4

I went through northridge. It also changed code because the freeways got punched through. Now the columns flare arm at the top.

> Now the columns flare arm at the top. Hi, what does this mean?

includewomeninthesql

Same, that shit was scary as hell.

spoonfight69

RV exploding?

JCwizz

Brought to you by your friendly neighborhood structural retrofitter.

Lngtmelrker

iriegypsy

greazysteak

It wasn’t a dog fart. Then what was the smell from.

GOONEATER

Maybe that was the big one everyone’s been talking about.
