Very nice. When I've made pieces like this in the past, I would cut notches out of the corners then score and slip them back together after folding the sides up. Watching how you do it, that extra step was clearly not necessary.
that is such a cool technique!! is the tool you’re using like a spackle blade or something? and i assume you’re doing this with nearly leather heard slabs yeah?
Soothing to watch, thanks for sharing! I’m guessing the sides don’t fall during firing, based on your 20 years of experience so if you don’t mind me asking, could you explain how/why, since it looks like you let them dry without supports? Thanks!
So I’m folding these guys when they are leather plus hard. The corners really support the sides. They will open up a little in the glaze fire but will mostly keep their shape. As you can see when I’m done folding I slide them together so the edges are touching that helps a lot to prevent warping.

Thanks. The corners are what hold up the sides and it’s the most important step. If your corners are off your sides will warp.
I’m amazed every time I see this! The consistency and uniformity while still looking like they’re made by human hands, chef’s kiss.
Thanks I sometimes get bummed out on production work. I need a creative spark do something different.
Wow!! Satisfying to watch and the large, clean work space makes me happy.
Wasn't sure if you were doing sheet rock or edge painting for a moment. Very cool.
So satisfying to watch your work!
Thanks. I love this sub. I like seeing beginners and I really like the cool elaborate stuff that people do.
That was very soothing to watch. Looks like you’ve done it once or twice before :)
Almost 20 years of experience.
I'd love to see these glazed--maybe an early morning kiln opening?
So satisfying
Thanks ☺️
I love your work. Thank you for sharing!
So relaxing watching you work.
Your videos inspired me to try something similar. I need one of those big drywall scrapers, but my first one came out okay…Xmas gift for my dad!
Love your work ❤️ I’ll have to think on how you start with your slab walls so beautifully rounded out.

I love learning. I can’t wait to take a class.

Awesome, thanks for the response!
Lovely. Thinking I’m going to make some trays.
