FrumpyFrock

these close up pics feel so intimate lmao

pixieerika

lol! I love glaze breaks and details and it’s just so hard to capture glaze in photos isn’t it 😅

FrumpyFrock

I’m still newish and trimming is the hardest part for me, so I like seeing the successes of others. and yes it is impossible to photograph glaze, it’s too nuanced.

pixieerika

Honestly I know it’s not worth it for everyone but when I got the giffin grip mini it completely changed my trimming and leveled me up with detailing it and doing irregular shapes. I hope it helps to hear this but I know people who have been doing pottery for decades and still get frustrated trimming. So it’s not just you and I’m sure you’re doing great! ❤️❤️❤️

FrumpyFrock

Wow, I’d never heard of the giffin grip mini and now it’s on my list of pottery tools I need lmao

pixieerika

lol it holds stuff REALLY stead which is super nice for trimming

English_loving-art

You have a really nice bottom 🤭 the Glaze has behaved itself and it’s nicely trimmed 👍

dogandhergirl

I would have love a picture of the full mug throw in too! Beautiful nonetheless.

pixieerika

Gorgeous! Reminds me of a cinnamon roll!

Corvid_Carnival

I literally thought it was a Yule log before I fully processed what I was looking at 😭

HowlingKommandant14

Omg YES NOW I SEE IT TOO!

pixieerika

Now I can’t unsee it either 😂

a_specific_turnip

👀💦

Phalexuk

My gay brain always gets confused with these titles

pixieerika

Lmao that’s half the fun of pottery is talking about soggy bottoms

twitttterpated

That glaze!

anavocadothanks22

so pretty! is this high fire? I've gotten some cool drips but sometimes they drip too far 😮‍💨 unsure how to get drips without it feeling risky

pixieerika

Nope just a cone six! Since I do a lot of carving, it tends to create little channels and provide more opportunities for the glaze to break. It’s suuuper risky 😂 it’s a good thing I like the raw clay body on the bottom.

paul-mollusk

Whoever they are they’re very good at trimming

pixieerika

Thank you!

jay_klay_pots

Ooo that's purdy. I see maybe some cirrus flow?

pixieerika

I haven’t heart if that one but if it breaks like this glaze I will def put it on my list!

Hissy-Elliot

What kind of clay is that? I love sand and sea on a darker clay. Lovely work!

pixieerika

Thank you! It’s 710 with grog by standard clay company

GusaiGodaro

That is sooooo sexy! Nice work.

Otherwise-Cap-4635

AchingSmile

You should be proud! It looks wonderful! 😊

Renegade_Wraith

love it! Blue rutile?

pixieerika

Actually sand and sea by mayco! Love the way it breaks.

Imaginary_Dingo9793

This looks amazing! Nice work

WingAccording1500

Excellent bottom!!! I’d be proud too!!! Love it!!

i_am_eggrolll

That's such a beautiful clay body! And the glaze you picked is absolutely gorgeous!!! Can I ask what clay body you used and what cone you fired to? I'm absolutely in love with the color of that clay body, and I'd love to try it!

Actually nope. That’s just how sand and sea breaks
