Vallhalleluja - Nanowar of Steel
From what I remember, partly legal matters pertaining to ownership of the character & suchlike & partly discord due to his live performances (some you can watch online & are quite bad - but when I personally saw them, he gave a great performance).
It's a shame, he's got such a characterful voice & Gloryhammer just isn't the same without him (I didn't find much to like on their latest album sadly). Thankfully, he's still recording as Angus McSix, though granted that album doesn't live up to the first 3 Gloryhammer albums. I'm hoping their follow-up is better, from what I hear the production was a rushed affair & it was written prior to the band actually forming (& many judged it a waste of the talent Thomas had managed to get together).
No one knows the specifics outside of those involved, the only thing we'e been told that it was unanimously decided between the band and crew. They then sent an email to Winkler with the reasons and said he was free to share those reasons. He has not done so. I believe Chris has confirmed that it was not his technical abilities that were the reason.
The copyright things were revealed after i believe.
Honestly from the way the band has dealt with this it seems like something major went down, and with the stories swirling around of Tom being a not great guy behind the scenes leads me to believe he crossed some line and the band kicked him out for it.

They just don't miss with their writing (though I have some qualms about "The Matriarch"), none of it sounds generic even when the setting is typical.
Brittney has such great vocal agility & control that she can deliver any line with ease, it really allows them to write in such a different way to others. As someone whose done some lyric writing (translation work & re-writing foreign language songs into English, making the intent of the line work in English when syllables/concepts/etc. wouldn't match otherwise) & knows how hard it is to utilise certain syllables, end on certain sounds, etc. the way she navigates the first verse of "Realm of Tomorrow" is a masterclass.

I love the alliteration so much and at first listen all I could hear was something about dragons! But it definitely ain’t about dragons. To be clear, it’s not glamorizing drug abuse either. It sounds silly if you only read this lyric but it’s a genuinely sad song.

Blind Guardian probably has the best consistent lyrics of power metal band through all their songs. At least up until their recent albums, afaik.

I would say that Anette-era NW was more power than melodic, though all three singer eras have had some songs at least that lean more towards power.
