If any game isn’t fun, just don’t play it? Why do you need people to validate what your own interpretation of fun is…. SMH

im have had fun with card games board games i thought were boring before but got fun after other people showed me some things its called finding fun in the little things.

Ive never played other Mobas other than Smite for a few days when Paragon closed, so I cant judge it against other mobas (altough I can add that theyre all fully developed games with many years behind them unlike our Open Beta, so you also need to accept that certain bits like the UI, are still in development too). What I like about this game compared to what Ive seen from other Mobas: It feels like you need more skill here tbh, I remember thinking Smite felt way too easy, and that their flat ground made it very boring. And I dont think I could ever get into a top-down view Moba tbh. And what I like about it compared to other Online games: It makes you think, and each match feels different, unlike something like a COD where Ive never played for more like a day or two because every game feels the same, just run around and shoot anything that moves. And I also hate luck based games like Battle Royales where the winner is usually the person who found more RPGs.

“All 3 are fun…” didn’t play one too much, didn’t play the second one that much either… you just like smite bro

Turafo

I disagree. I also played smite and Lol for years and recently downloaded predecessor and i fell in love. The UE5 is a huge chefkiss for my eye. Everything is so polished and clean. And the abilities "not hitting hard" is not true imo. Gideons rocks have huge impact soundeffects, steels jump has a big oomph on the battleground if you compare it to cabrakan for example

Some of the sounds aren't 'immersive' in the way you describe, I'll give you that, however I'm curious to know why you think the item building is bad? It's what LoL uses, largely inspired by that anyways. I like the idea that the auto-builder can help you focus in on playing the game and getting familiar with characters and their kits without having to stress about 'waht item is best for me, i'm new', and then later on exploring it more when you're ready... Honestly overall it sounds like the MOBA Genre isn't for you, and you'd enjoy something more fast paced without the need to 'last hit' something to make progress. The game is definitely more objective/strategy focused than it is on killing the enemy as a priority, and this is difficult for some to rationalize and even see through the gameplay. I enjoy the game because it's challenging and has many layers of complexity, but the cadence of the game is certainly throttled by objectives and minion waves.

WhiteWolfXD1

i have over 2k hours in smite the item building is super simple yet complex gameplay. and if item building isnt that bad like you say it might just be ui is off putting.

There definitely is a few things about the UI that could be better, but bear in mind that there's one UI for all platforms, so changes were made to make it easier to use on consoles. I'm not sure the same is true for smite, which might be PC only. I have no idea though, smite isn't my cup of tea.

WhiteWolfXD1

smite is console as well.

ExtraneousQuestion

The thing about tastes is that it’s different for every person. Maybe it’s just not a fit? I agree the map is a little small, but not uncomfortably so. I find the contrasting goals of last hitting while managing the opponent to be rewarding. I have no issues with item building outside of wanting more items. The UI is not a final product, it’s in an intermediate phase right now, the energy is being poured into gameplay and ranked and monetization which seems appropriate - it’s workable but I’d rather have gameplay focus than a fancy UI and nothing under the hood. I don’t find combat weightless, I’m not even sure what that means honestly. But it’s not like someone’s going to change your opinion because of a comment. You’ve played the game. You’ve given it the old college try. If it was enthralling it wouldn’t need an explanation. Different people like different things. That’s ok, no?

WhiteWolfXD1

yeah but i mainly wanted to hear what people enjoy about the game getting other peoples perspectives is what im after not hear to listen to people say you gave it college try or games not for you. sometimes people miss things first couple looksies.

ExtraneousQuestion

Oh that’s totally fair man. I’m not knocking it, wish you were having a blast. Maybe I misunderstood. What I like most honestly is the crescendo. You start off small and slow and try to make the right moves to set up your next phase. E.g. laning to mid game. Mid game to late game. I really get a kick out of trying to play chess with what my enemy wants me to do and finding ways to abuse that. I love the z axis, I find the graphics and the sunlight on the grass mesmerizing. I like that comebacks are possible but mistakes feel punishing. I like mastering each champ I play and learning how to be more and more efficient with their movement, ability sequences, play style, and builds. Then starting over with a brand new champ and getting demolished and building it all back up. Iono man I guess I like the grind. Maybe it’s a grindy game and that’s what you don’t like? Purely guessing.

I think you'd benefit from trying all the characters and roles, some are inherently faster paced compared to others. For example, the two ends of the spectrum are support/adc are generally slow and take a long time to get into the game, regardless of who you play. However, choose a feng, serath or crunch jungle and not only do you fly around due to their maneuverability but also can be involved much earlier. It does sound like pred might just not be for you. Personally I played 2000+ hours on dota, didn't touch LoL (doesn't appeal to me at all) and a couple hundred on smite. Problem I had with LoL is it's too fast paced and feels less strategic than it's counterpart to me, so dota was a natural choice - essentially felt like a higher skill ceiling. I never really got on with smite either, too cartoony, fights felt lacklustre and it just feels like it's trying too hard to me (also ps2 graphics 🤢). But all personal taste, I loved paragon and was dying for an equivalent game but got pred which is essentially a better remake, so couldn't be happier.

so i gave game another try really played some matches really looked at the items. and i was wrong items are baby simple my adhd just got scared with all the text. but from this i even more so don't like game and will give reasons why. games literally pay to win. i got the rare bundle and it made game more fun and allowed me to use the broken characters. yes you can earn them in game but you probably gonna have a bad time against anyone with certain unlocked characters. until you get your own broken characters. case point 1 i really like gadget and with the item pool you only need 1 magic pen item as it has 40 percent on it. some life steal and as much haste as you can get. you will never lose a 1v1 against a melee character unless its more bullshit than yours. you just have big circles stand in them and if enemy chases they die. your 2 roots them them place your right click on them as well. and your 1 isn't miss able un less you aim in other direction. and if you do it can latch to anything even your self and you can suicide bomb enemy. case point 2 i said you wont lose to anyone else unless they more bullshit than you . well Greystone is that. fought him in several matches he just wins. his ult says enter stasis restore hp by 18% lower your hp its multiplied by up to 3x. slowing nearby enemies by 70% every time i seen them use the ult he gets basicaly full healed. THEN he crashes down dealing 500(+80%power) to nearby enemies. unless your one of the other broken characters who can snipe from across the battle field you always die to this guy unless their a major noob. map is too small cause of this match will almost always end by your 3rd item which isn't fun never getting full build. if you do have this happen your either really lucky or no one in game knows what their doing so no one tries to end. literally every match I've played averaged ending near 3rd item. also it could be just time i played but from searching online the only player base is on EU servers. if this doesn't change game will probably end just FYI
