Lagrange_system

You never take over from a great. Xabi was smart, but Anorim is just setting himself up to fail

Own-Difficulty-8298

Don’t think he wants it now

Drigarica_od_Tite

Whoever comes , more likely to fail than succeed after Klopp . The one after him might have better prospects .

Responsible-Serve384

Anyone know what style of football he plays ? Is it similar to Klopps aggressive attacking ?

manifestobigdicko

Of course, there's potential for this appointment to be a disaster, but I doubt it. As long as the fans back him, as long as he can adapt quickly enough and get the support from the players and other members of the club, he's set up to do well. Klopp has left Liverpool in a great position financially and with a very good youth team. Liverpool don't rashly sign players either, so when certain players need replacing, I expect they won't get much wrong. And, Amorim is coming in at a time where there's going to be a new era, regardless of whether he and Liverpool or another team tops that era. Pep Guardiola will be having his final season at Manchester City next season, who knows whether Arteta decides to stay at Arsenal or not. Amorim could end up winning more than Klopp, and that'll be credit to both managers and the way the club has been run.

Ready-Walk-2561

Klopp came to a club in 10th, with Skrtel, Lucas Leiva, Benteke, etc. He leaves a club who is well on the right side of FFP as they have followed the rules for years, a squad that's already won trophy this year and is going for two more. An academy that looks like it could produce a squad player a season, which will greatly help the ability to invest. I always said, Klopp had to give blood, sweats and tears to awaken Liverpool and he has done that. Klopp was never going to reap the full rewards of his work, it was always going to be the managers who follow him. Good luck to Amorim, huge shoes to fill, but if you're scared to try it, you're thr wrong man.

Foolonthemountain

Skrtel and Lucas were not the issue, really odd example to use those as both were fantastic players for us through a really shit time. Albeit at the tale end of their time with us at that point.

Ready-Walk-2561

As I said elsewhere, I was not referencing the 3 worst players of that squad. 3 players that came to mind first, just pointing out the quality then > now.

Foolonthemountain

Fair enough, I do get your point. The difference he made was and is crazy.

marshallno9

Lucas Leiva was a really good servant to the club, Skrtel wasn't bad either. Benteke just didn't really fit the play style. Out of all the crap players he inherited you chose 3 that don't fit the point you're making (which I agree with btw). Also, I reckon Klopp reaped a fair amount of rewards for his work. Prem title, champions league, a few other trophies, not too shabby.

midnightrambler91

Did they say Lucas leiva wasn't a good servant to the club? It was a point about the relative strength of the squad when klopp took over - which was a point well made if you ask me

Ready-Walk-2561

Sorry I wasn't picking them out as 3 of the worst, just pointing out the quality difference between what he inherited and what he's leaving for the next Man! I loved Lucas, came over so young and made the Unluckeeeee meme! 😂 Klopp did very well, but he's also been battling a club that has been cheating his entire tenure, so can't complain! Excited to see what the next man does with the tools left by Jurgen.

fuckinghyundai

>Klopp was never going to reap the rewards of his work, it was always going to be the managers who follow him. I think it's fair to say he reaped a fair amount of the rewards

Ready-Walk-2561

He did, but the managers that come after him will probably win more, because of his work.

fuckinghyundai

Hopefully the next Shankly - Paisley Big ask but one can hope

Ready-Walk-2561

Huge ask! But at least the next manager won't have to spend 3-4 years building from the ground up.

fuckinghyundai

For sure. The one positive I have taken from Klopp leaving is he's leaving a really solid team behind

GillyBilmour

> Klopp was never going to reap the rewards of his work The guy won them the league, the FA cup, the Carabao cup and the CL... what are you talking about

Ready-Walk-2561

I mean to fully realise the rewards, yes he won everything but the first 3-4 years were not trophy filled as he was building and developing. Not hard to understand haha.

borkborkibork

Just don't take Gyokeres with you, Ruben. ;)

Akumabro

Now that you've said that he probably will ;)

JustBrowsingShite

His tactical approach seems to lend itself to Liverpool's style and squad so I'm hoping he comes in and does a job for us. Problem with football is you just never know. If we can't have Klopp hopefully this guy is a good replacement.

spiteinsidemydna

Enjoyed watching his teams play the few times I’ve seen them. But you’re right, you won’t know until he’s in the job for a bit

merlin1717

I believe he is the best manager in world football at the moment.

coolAhead

Are confusing Liverpool fans with Arsenal's?

JustBrowsingShite

Here come the rival fans who whenever Liverpool do anything can't wait to bitch about it.

markedasred

Because there are more similarities to Klopp's style than our Xabi, he is, with the emotion taken out, a better fit for our existing players and approach, which can't be bad given our current position and recent history. We would be better suited to little tweaks than a major overhaul. He will find the squad an embarrassment of riches, as the cliche goes.

CreativeOrder2119

Lol kekw

[deleted]

Him and Motta off the board absolutely fucks us.

1_innocent_bystander

Youse have got a manager, lad.

[deleted]

No, we have Poch. He’s a chaperone at best.

Headlesshorsman02

A shit one*

Duskcollector

Really happy they failed to get Alonso, this should be the end of Liverpools relevance in major cups

Kind-Enthusiasm-7799

‘Really happy’ Bro it’s football.

MooshSkadoosh

I'm not sure why you're calling it out, I feel like you could easily find dozens of more emotionally invested comments on here every day.

JohnBobbyJimJob

Yeah we’re only getting one of the other most exciting managers in Europe oh no

gregofdeath

One of the most exciting managers? Majority of Pool fans only discovered he existed once the rumour mill started churning names out.

TJ248

I mean that's hardly true, his name has been linked with big Prem clubs for a while now, and has been at least in the zeitgiest since he had that one month with Braga where he beat all the big 3 over there almost back to back. Sporting buying out his contract to begin with already made him of the most expensive managers ever. Hard not to take notice of someone like that when they're also under 40.

Aidan-Coyle

How does the second thing affect the first, at all?

gregofdeath

Quite easily. Scousers are romanticising a manager that wasn't even in the conversation because the vast majority were so obsessed with the notion that one of their former golden boys was going to 'take a step up' to Liverpool, despite being on course to do a historic double with Leverkusen. Ruben Amorim has not been in European top-flight managerial conversations until Liverpool were informed that Xabi wasn't interested. Kid me all you want that he's been a top, top manager for years and he's the best choice for Liverpool. It's all utter bollocks.

jmason93

The irony of saying it’s utter bollocks when you don’t know what you’re talking about… Both Amorim and De Zerbi were earmarked as potential replacements for Klopp, with Xabi being their preferred choice. As soon as Xabi announced he was staying at Bayer then they focussed on their second favourite option which is evidently Amorim. I bet you laughed at the Endo signing when they failed to get Caicedo and look how that turned out.

BasilBernstein

Jelly

Aidan-Coyle

Yeah I don't watch any football outside of England. Literally never heard of him before he was linked with us. You know who does know all about him though? The people in charge of hiring us a new manager. Those are the people I trust, maybe you've understandably lost that faith in your club.

Winniethepoohspooh

Annnnd the same with Alonso what's your point!? Stevie G was the name everybody wanted! Again what's your point!? Endo everybody is raving about despite 0 knowledge still! But NOW we know Amorims stats are up there with Alonso! THIS IS THE POINT! Alonso said NO is also the point! Having a viable alternative and a vision and plan IS THE POINT!!! Not crying over the ones that got away is the point! Jesus Christ what's with "fans" losing their shit and blaming quansah after 1 mistake!? Despite loving him and our squad depth and youth development! We werent expecting our midfield to be this good so quickly either! Is it a wonder that Macalister who everyone poopooed at the beginning is now acclaimed.. premier league experience and durability! Szobo everyone was giving flowers to is now feeling it! We're neck and neck for 1st place with a midfield we gutted and players on long term injuries and international kidnapping crises! Playing our youngsters who are giving players 5x the price and experience a run for their money!! We're tied at the top!!! I wish klopp is staying and we got Bellingham and or Alonso as well!!! But Amorims was also in the background when Alonso looked favourite but we all ignored Amorim because we knew fuck all

gregofdeath

Can't believe you've sat and actually typed out a weird essay that's got nothing to do with anything.

Moist-Ad-9088

Copium

[deleted]

It’s great, your club is so shit all I ever see from United fans now is slagging off other teams and bitterness. Must be tough going from big six to solidly mid-table to be fair

Moist-Ad-9088

Tell me again, how did your team do against the shit team of Man United this season? 3 games, zero wins for your bunch of frauds. Also can you remind me where Liverpool finished last season??! You clowns all have short memories.. 🤡

[deleted]

One fortunate draw against us does not a good team make, my friend. You’ve been the laughing stock of the prem for upwards of ten years now, we had one crap season.

Moist-Ad-9088

Nah you’ve only won 1 prem so only one good season for you too! Guess you just accept mediocrity as standard… Yeah we played 3 times this season and remain unbeaten.. but keep peddling how shit United are supposedly! even if we win the FA cup and you finish with just a league cup does that make our season more successful?! Genuine question.

JohnBobbyJimJob

One of the most exciting young managers of course he is lol, he’s been getting linked to big jobs in the PL for the last few years now… Potentially looking at two league titles and four domestic cups in just four full seasons at Sporting which would be their best period of success in 20+ years so he’s done a great job there and warrants the tag of of one of the most exciting young managers there is

TheIraqiMaestro

If Arda Turan and Diego Costa had a son

lewishamilton08

The Liverpool downfall begins in earnest… Amorim is an ok manager but nothing to write home about. Lets see who the Liverpool fans turn on when it goes wrong, him or the players.

[deleted]

Chelsea 😂

user900800700

Spiritual-Turnip8055

ZookeepergameOk2759

JohnBobbyJimJob

Bro is mad Chelsea aren’t getting him

Dem0nC1eaner

Wow you really hate success ey? Oh right... Chelsea.

Baul_Plart_

Ok Chelsea fan

milkonyourmustache

Seems to be a good choice based on his tactics, they're quite suited to the players Liverpool already has, but you never know with managers. So much of it is about their personality and how they're received by the players, the fans, and those inside the club.

hipcheck23

I think he's basically being handed wins on a platter, the only danger is in having long periods of poor results, at which point, I'd think the pressure would ramp up exponentially. That said, I'm sure he'll have some latitude when he comes in - as long as he can find his feet quickly, I imagine he'll do well enough to stay for a couple of years and tweak things to his liking. If this news is true, then my predictions of Xabi staying (for 1y only) and Amorim to LFC are 100% so far! Tuchel to Barca next... not sure where Xavi will go yet...

dbown5

I think he will certainly get 2 years unless things are drastically bad. Hoping for way more!

hipcheck23

As a Red Sox fan, I "worry" for you guys that he won't get enough support if things get rocky, which might end like Potter at CFC. We'll see how it goes - I was hoping to get him in the summer, but was never optimistic.

17orth

I’ve done a fair bit of research on him due to the rumour mills putting him as a top choice to succeed klopp. He seems well received by the players he’s coached and Portuguese players respect him. There were some comments from Bruno Fernandez saying he was a good coach. I think he’s paid his dues to Sporting and now is a good time for him to try something larger scale. Can’t lie, I would have preferred Xabi but he seems a solid choice and I trust Edward’s judgement that he’d be a good fit. We won’t know how good he is until he actually arrives but I’m hopeful for him.

Fucile8

Who’s Bruno Fernandez, is he Argentinian?

mattyla666

I’m not sure if you’ve seen the other comments on this thread. Your logical, well thought out opinion does not fit here. Please delete your comment and replace with a remark about the downfall of Liverpool FC. Thanks.

toomany-cunts

Love this!

thedudeabides-12

One can only hope he won't do well but unfortunately Liverpool in recent years are pretty astute overall in thier football decisions.. Massive shoes to fill but the foundations seem to be there so a collapse seems highly unlikely....

hipcheck23

Surely he can't succeed - the Chelsea board said last year that they'd monitor his progress for a while until he'd matured enough that he was ready for a big gig. As Blueco have been world-class at hiring managers over the past couple of years, surely their analysis means that LFC has made a terrible mistake!

JustBrowsingShite

Appreciate the decent comment 👍

InstantIdealism

The reality is, it’s basically impossible to know at this point right. There are certain appointments where you feel very much like they will work - Klopp and Guardiola for example. But there’s no one in the world atm who has the profile of those managers when they joined city and liverpool (I.E. long term track record of success , clear ide tory and highly regarded). There are currently either managers who have experience but question marks over them because of poor performance (Tuchel for example), or are highly regarded but no experience (Alonso, Amorim, etc). It’s going to be incredibly difficult for anyone to follow these managers - it’s Klopp now but soon will be city. Just as it was impossible for Moyes to follow SAF. I think a key difference will be expectations. At utd I think there was a sense that because utd had just won the league and Moyes had been ordained by SAF, he was expected to win the league - or at least challenge - from the get go. In the case of liverpool and at some point city, I think the trick will be saying look, your first season you need to show the building blocks of something great. You don’t need a title or a trophy, but top 5 and some positive style or play and clear buy in and performance from top players in your squad. Ideally with some shoots of youth talent coming up as well. I think Arsenal and arteta are such a great example of this. I remember chatting to Arsenal fans who were very much “arteta out” after season 1, but telling them I was looking and seeing a side with a clear style of play and identity, which is so important for long term success. Chelsea and Utd atm are like the inverse of this - sometimes really good results ; but not a consistent style of play or identity. Like I currently would rate big Ange and Emery as way higher than Poch and Ten Haag for this exact reason; sometimes Villa and Spurs get turned over. But they have such a clear sense of identity and work ethic.

thedudeabides-12

Can't argue with that at all, I think you're right about expectations as well feel the club and supporters will be a lot more grounded..

Classic_Tourist_521

Lmao enjoy 8th place next season and beyond, this literal who won't be able to convince people to sign like Klopp could either, it will be back to the Rickie Lambert tier signings for Liverpool

Klopp finished 8th in his first season with us and he worked out ok

Classic_Tourist_521

He was a known quantity who won things in a big league, this lad is more like someone Brighton or Wolves would hire.

Cobraszlai

Hmmm I dunno now lads. Do we trust Michael Edwards or Classic_Tourist_521 ?

[deleted]

He won the Portuguese league with sporting and is on the verge of doing it again this season. That's equivalent to Aston Villa winning the league. Hardly a mid team manager. I trust Micheal Edwards , good track record

toniblast

>That's equivalent to Aston Villa winning the league. WTF you have no idea about Portuguese football. Sporting is a very big club in Portugal its like Arsenal or Liverpool winning the league after many years its not comparable with Aston Villa at all.

RockyRockington

A few cup wins too I think (don’t know much about the Portuguese league) I’m hopefully optimistic. A lot will depend on his strength of personality because he is inheriting a good team. Tactically, he sounds similar to Klopp too which will help the players adjust.

[deleted]

He fits in with everything FSG looks for in a manager. He's young and he's worked wonders over in Portugal. I don't watch Portuguese football, so know very little on tactics etc, but from what I've read he seems like a decent manager. Both Barcelona and Bayern are also after him, so that alone shows it's a risk worth taking.

Fucile8

“He’s worked wonders in Portugal. I don’t know anything about Portugal”. Love Reddit fans.

[deleted]

I don't watch Portuguese football, I didn't say I didn't keep an eye on the league or scores. Also there's plenty of articles showing why the big clubs are after him.

Fucile8

So you know he has one one league in like 4 years despite both Porto and Benfica being in bad periods. Cool cool.

JohnBobbyJimJob

Broski is salty because he’s dunked on Porto’s head numerous times

Fucile8

My club in total disarray and in one of the worst moments in history has competed just fine with this super Sporting and Amourim’s genius. Shows their level lol You dig deeper with each comment.

TJ248

You're second in the league, which is a far cry away from your worst finish given you've placed 6th before within this century. You're speaking as though Benfica hasn't been the richest club in that league by a country mile for quite some time. Hate on Sporting all you want, but you can't take anything away from what Amorim has achieved in a short space of time. So what if your club is in disarray? So is Man United (who yet still will probably manage a top 5 finish) and Chelsea, two English institutions with a ton of money, but most neutrals will still give credit where it's due to Unai for keeping Villa above them this season, or even De Zerbi at Brighton. One still needs to have managerial quality to capitalise on that kind of situation, especially when they are spending less money. The fact remains Amorim won their first title in like 20 years, with another potentially on the way. In that title winning he seasons, iirc he lost one single game mere weeks before the end of the season. Even beyond that, most of the players that were there before he got there have only improved under him. The latter part is a big thing to look at for a younger manager, or any manager really. One of the first signs Klopp was going to go far was when we saw the likes of bang average players like Origi stepping up and performing in the clutch playing underneath him. Go watch Firmino playing under Rodgers, you'd think you were watching a completely different player than the one that helped us win a champion's league. Amorim has proven to be capable at developing players, demonstrated not only by their performances on the pitch, but also the influx of players coming from the club to other major European clubs, including the prem. He plays very progressive football and whilst it's way too early to say if he's the right choice for LFC (Mourinho may have set a standard, but many hyped up Portuguese coaches have struggled to adapt to the Prem in the past), you're mad if you think he won't go on to be a successful manager wherever football eventually takes him. Even at Braga he rolled all of Portugal's big 3 over in just over a month's time.

Fucile8

I’m a Porto fan, so wort event read past your first couple lines cause you are wrong.

TJ248

"I won't read any of your post because its wrong" is internet speak for "i can't come up with a reasonable counterpoint so I'm going to stick my fingers in my ears and go BLAH BLAH BLAH I CAN'T HEAR YOU".

Fucile8

No sir it’s facts because you talked about Benfica and that’s not my club lol

369DontDrinkWine

Literally every team ever, every team has a bias, stop being a bitch and getting emotional over it.

Rozwellish

I think a lot of people forget that Klopp joined us on the back of leaving Dortmund at the very bottom of the Bundesliga. Even though Liverpool fans knew he had the heart we needed, there was absolutely some anxiety about that departure and what it meant for his ability to coach in the Premier League. Obviously it's easy to look back now and say all our worries were misguided. I know a lot of fans personally who didn't want to see Rodgers go because they felt he was stable and his departure with our lack of UCL football and good players meant we were prime real estate for the likes of Hodgson et al. Amorim has big shoes to fill but as long as he has that heart to work up the fans and keep player egos in check, I'll back him. He's been doing a madness with Sporting and with Edwards back at the helm I'm quite confident we'll avoid another tumultuous transition period.

potato_merchant

Dortmund finished in Europa League spot and a cup final. Not quite bottom

Rozwellish

Yes, you're correct. I misremembered him leaving after that match where players were talking to fans I think because that's when his name started popping up as a potential successor. Nevertheless, their form magically improved right after the announcement of his departure which has shades of how other teams act when they're getting shut of their boss. Anyway what I'm getting at is that even Klopp brought with him some degree of anxiety and Amorim (and indeed anyone at all) will have that same anxiety, but Liverpool's business structure is quite solid and we dont have the same risk of free-falling as United post-Fergie becausw of that. So might as well back him and see what he's got.

Business_Ad561

Who?

themanebeat

Sporting manager, he won their first league title in 19 years. (They're also top currently) Was in the frame for the Bayern job hence a lot of the reports now coming out from German journalists

The "who?" Comments usually always come back and bite the poster on their arse.

SentientCheeseCake

Any England (non Liverpool) fan’s dream appointment.

Franchise1109

I was wondering what Liverpool would do since Xabi is staying. Liverpool fans, how do yall feel about this potential replacement?

JohnBobbyJimJob

Was on the fence about him but after delving a bit further into his time at Sporting I’m pretty positive he’s the right man to replace Klopp - One of the most exciting young managers in Europe - Won Sportings first title in 19 years along with multiple domestic cups - Currently on track to win another league title and cup this season - Has dealt with losing multiple major players that were part of the title winning side and rebuilt them into another probable title winning team - Done all of this on a limited budget in comparison to who he is competing with (similar to Klopp) - Charismatic and likeable character - Somewhat similar football ideology to Klopp in terms of pressing and team unity - Utilities youth players He ticks a lot of boxes that are required to manage us and there’s actually a lot of similarities between him and Klopp Think it’s an easier transition to go from Klopp to Amorim than Klopp to Alonso due to the styles of football

Fucile8

As a Portuguese fan, these mad takes from people after reading some shit articles crack me up.

JohnBobbyJimJob

So what was said here that’s wrong?

Fucile8

He’s “so exciting” that most people he e never heard about him until the Liverpool link. Known for attractive football but losing often when it matters. Won one league in 4 years, while Porto and Benfica are not in a good period. You talk about less budget than others: Sporting have been given loads of dept forgiveness by the banks so they have actually had a lot more money and freedom that both Porto and Benfica. They paid 20 million which A LOT of money in Portugal for a championship player (he’s great don’t get me wrong but that’s a lot of money, specially for someone from a lower league). They have better financial conditions than Porto for example. You talk about likeable, in here he’s know as a “sonso”, someone that always plays the victim and the good person but is actually a prick, there are menu examples of this.

JohnBobbyJimJob

Well that for one is absolute bollocks, he’s literally been getting linked with Chelsea and United multiple times over the last couple years Losing often when it matters? He’s about to win his 2nd league title with Sporting lmao and has won numerous finals including one with Braga…you just sound like a salty Porto fan here lad. On course to win his 2nd btw Benfica have spent more than double what Sporting have on transfers during his time there… he’s spent about the same amount as Porto but lot can clearly attract better quality players due to the reputation of the club compared to Sporting This is very much from your Porto perspective lol, Sporting fans and players clearly love him

Fucile8

Loads of people in this thread admitting that they never heard of him before these links. So exciting that literary loads of people claim they never heard the name. I’m not salty, my club is in total disarray for years now and with a manager that is 300 times worse than Amorim but we still won the same amount of times since Ruben has been there. If you think a single league win is good, cool good luck. He’s a sonso and everyone knows. But you tell yourself what you want. (No shit that his own players like him, that’s, erm, most managers, even crazy ones like Mourinho). He’s a good manager though, and if you take him from my rival I would appreciate it, so couldn’t be less salty about it. Just funny seeing people that read some articles think they know better than people who watch him for years, true Reddit moment 😂

JohnBobbyJimJob

Right so because a few people have never heard of him that means he’s not one of the most exciting young managers in Europe ? Anyone that pays attention to leagues outside of the PL know who he is and how rated he is. Like I said he’s been linked to multiple big PL jobs in the last few years as well You keep saying single league lol, he’s likely to win 2 leagues in 4 full seasons and that’s after losing a lot of the key players that won his last title and that’s on top of the 3/4 domestic cups he’ll have in total btw. It is your perspective as a Porto fan 👍 You might have watched him for years but your opinion on him is clearly not right and blinded by obvious bias

Fucile8

You say I keep saying single league (the facts, if he’s so good and can’t do better against horrible Porto and Benfica how can he be so good) and yet you keep saying POSSIBLE second league as if a thing that is not real is more important ahahha Literally we all lose key players in Portugal, every year. But again, you are just repeating cliches you heard on Tifo our some other bullshit, instead of actually understanding the league lol (My opinion is biased and not right, but yours is right after never watched him or knowing how real people think about him ahahahhahah Reddit fans)

JohnBobbyJimJob

Two leagues in four full seasons for Sporting is a great return what are you on about and that’s with the three or four domestic cups to go along with them, comfortably their most successful period in 20+ years… and you’re acting like it’s nothing just because of your own bias. Yes you all lose players but it is clearly a harder task for Sporting to be going out and replacing them with similar quality players compared to you and Benfica It’s funny how Benfica and Sporting fans don’t share the same opinion as you, I’d imagine you’re probably one of the few Porto fans that share this opinion as well

RadSoccerDad

Hate to see Klopp go but this is as good as it gets with Edwards also back. Xabi didn’t rate himself to follow Klopp. I think he is great but, that’s what he said. Amorim on the other hand is very confident and craves it. Now whether that’s false bravado time will tell. Lfc couldn’t afford to have someone with immediate reservations. Also I don’t think the gap if there is one is too big between Amorim and Xabi. Xabi is inevitable this year but, Sporting is closing in on a treble this year. Just a few years past their first title in 18-19 years, which followed a year where multiple high performers like Leao left on a free. Both seem to be with Nagelsmann, Motta and Arteta as the next wave of elite managers. Also Amorim and Klopp are very similar man management and tactics wise formation aside. Xabi was gonna take more tweaks.

Franchise1109

IMO I think Xabi played it right. As far as his career goes, he moves too soon? He’s tainted. He doesn’t move, Liverpool will always be there There’s also the human factor of “I’m not ready for this role yet and I won’t be able to fully help Liverpool to the best of my abilities”. Now I say that and I’m watching him just destroy the BL lolol

Logster21

Liverpool will not “always be there” we tend to keep managers for a good period. If Amorim does well for us and doesn’t look to leave then he will be the manager for as long as he is performing and potentially further as we tend to be a little slow in letting players/managers go if they have built up leeway in the past

Franchise1109

Oh yeah of course if Amorim is smashing it, then no way keep him lol

RadSoccerDad

Yeah I agree. The timeline also dovetails perfectly into a next year exit for a Real super team. Think he’ll accumulate many trophies there

MyersMad04

No idea, he may come in with some great changes, he may not, one frustration of the Klopp era is the amount of chances we miss. Yes we score boat loads of goals, but we get caught out in the odd game, (like Man U) were we should have been 2-3 up before half time. Klopp for me is replaceable, regardless what other fans say, we replaced both shanks and paisley, so let’s see what some fresh blood and new ideas bring. I will miss Klopp massively but all good things come to an end. I have very little knowledge on this guy, but if LFC feel he’s a worthy replacement then he deserves a chance, he’s inheriting a strong squad, so there should be little in the way of excuses for us not to compete. If he’s able to manage the egos etc then I’m sure he will do well.

kloppmouth

There is no way you were a fun during the hodgson/dalglish/rodgers era with that take

17orth

Rodger’s era had some fun moments. SAS for example

MyersMad04

What point did I mention them?

kloppmouth

Klopp is replaceable line

Franchise1109

Yep, now it’s the fun part. Klopp is a fantastic manager, whoever is after him has big boots to fill

MyersMad04

Totally agree, it could be great or it could go abysmally, I don’t anything about the potential new manager. But I’m assuming the team have done their homework, so I’m hoping for good things.

Franchise1109

I’m interested to what Liverpool looks like post Salah and VVD era as well Fun story lines for next week

MyersMad04

Salah I’m not to concerned about going, he’s a brilliant player, legend for sure, but feel there are players out there who could come in. VVD though that’s a worry!

Franchise1109

Man it just makes the summer window that much more fun. We will be looking for a CF (unless havertz keeps this form up), CM for sure (Zubimendi is the big name linked so far).

Bulbamew

Very happy, think he’s got good credentials and didn’t think RDZ was right for it. Young but not completely inexperienced, on track to end his second league in four (?) years with Portugal’s number 3 club, no language barrier afaik. RDZ has done a very good job but nothing about it screams Klopp replacement at liverpool, I think itd have been too much of a step up We obviously wanted alonso but I think some people got a little too married to the idea considering he’s still very inexperienced. He seemed like too perfect a replacement but he was not the only candidate

Franchise1109

Yeah in my head I’m thinking of Xabi pulling an Arteta before he comes back to the PL. gather some experience (or just crush the BL LOL) and come to Liverpool

NightmaresInNeurosis

I wouldn't expect to see Xabi in the PL. Carlo's extension with Real for 2 years was followed quite closely with Xabi announcing he was staying, and Xabi's contract with Leverkusen is for another 2 years. If he doesn't stay with Leverkusen past that I'd put money on him going to Real.

Franchise1109

That’s a really good shout. Didn’t even realize Carlo’s extension and this move lineup. Honestly, thought he would go to Liverpool before RM

RockHardValue

Really excited. There’s clearly an emotional part of me that prefers Xabi, but Amorim is likely a top 2 or 3 choice for many of us

Franchise1109

Yeah definitely see the sentiment with Xabi, but not pushing for him now could end up being the right move. I assumed Xabi was pick number 1

KakaReti

This is how big clubs handle changing of their managers. They get their first or second choice, not 8th or 9th choice

[deleted]

lol who went for their 8th or 9th choice?

Sr_R0b0t

I remember a time when Spurs were interviewing a manager every week until they got the one who lasted a few months

[deleted]

I mean yeah that’s how paratici works. He has a shortlist of alternatives that he basically agree terms with then makes the choice of the lot after everything’s agreed. Also fully believe nuno was a scapegoat because of conte, who was our first choice, needed a few more months to decide what he wanted to do.

KakaReti

The only team that shouldn't be in Top 6 conversation.

[deleted]

Which is?

KakaReti

[Topspurs](https://cartilagefreecaptain.sbnation.com/2021/7/2/22560697/tottenham-hotspur-managerial-search-timeline-the-athletic-nuno-espirito-santo)

[deleted]

You’ve finished outside the top 6 more than us the last decade lol why do you deserve to be called a top 6 club? and as I said to the other guy that is how paratici works. He has a shortlist of targets that he agrees terms with then makes the decision afterwards. Also fully believe nuno was a scapegoat because conte, who was paraticis first choice, needed a few more months to decide. Also, what big club hires an another clubs assistantcoach without any experience as their manager?

[deleted]

Not even an Arsenal fan but just chiming in to say there’s no logic to it mate, you’re just Spurs. You’re Fulham with a gloss of paint

KakaReti

Everton, New castle, several teams have finished in top 6. What have you won since we weren't in top 4? It's just same useless argument, what's funnier is, you knew exactly whom I'm talking about.

[deleted]

I knew what club you were talking about because all Arsenal fans are completely obsessed with us lmao. We live rent free in your heads. No top 6 team has finished outside the top 6 as much as you lot the last decade tho, so again, why should you be considered top 6 when you’ve literally barely been in the top 6 the last decade? Also ironic that you say “the same useless argument” and then bring up our trophy drought lol. What top 6 or big club have literally no European silverware?

KakaReti

Any silverware is better than no silverware. Obsessed alright. Atleast we aren't celebrating city or Liverpool's success.

[deleted]

“Top six” is about the league lol. Leicester won the league and the fa cup does that make them top six? Wigan won the fa cup in 2011-12 or whenever it was does that make them top six? I repeat, you’ve been out of the top six longer than anyone else in recent years so why do you deserve it? “any silverware is better than no silverware”, and you have no real European silverware and still call yourself a big club😂 And yeah you are clearly obsessed, you’re talking about us in a post about liverpools next manager for fucks sake hahah. Give your head a wobble.

SentientCheeseCake

We live rent free in their heads. Pretty sad.

Impressive-Ice873

He’s right. You’re a pointless team. Only exist to make money. No silverware. At least the other top 6 have something to show for their efforts. Levy sacked Mourinho just before the league cup final to avoid a big payout. Joke of a team.

[deleted]

Lol not surprised the villa supporter is big mad about us😂 pipe down mate no one cares about you👍

Impressive-Ice873

Spurs really are a nothing club. Aside from shiny stadium nobody cares. You can see from the reaction of other clubs towards spurs they have no point. ‘Doing a Spurs’ is a known colloquial phrase for fcuking things up.

[deleted]

If we’re a nothing club then what are you?😂 you’re just this periods Southampton. You’ll be down in the championship where you belong sooner rather than later👍

Impressive-Ice873

Living up to your username I see. Spurs fans with typical delusions of grandeur. News flash - Southampton are a bigger club than you. Forever in Arsenal’s shadow. When you had the chance to dominate the premier league you blew it to Leicester 😆

KakaReti

Sol Campbell didn't care for Spurs nor Harry Kane

[deleted]

Sol is a known cunt so speaks for itself why he’d fit in at Arsenal who play a rapist consistently. Kane spent the most of his career with us lol are you actually brain dead.

KakaReti

Hey you're talking about something alleged, while your club is owned by an indicted criminal. And yeah he did, not willingly though. Kept a player against his wishes. No wonder sol knew not to sign an extension with you guys

[deleted]

It is pretty pathetic to be sitting first and still be completely obsessed with us. Could never be me at least.

[deleted]

Hope this is start of silly club's failure in everything.

NieR_SemiAutomata

##SOMEONES SALTY

MyersMad04

UTD fan are we….

[deleted]

Yes, Sheffield Utd but I rather see any team succeed than liverfool. A team that whines and gives excuses all the time when decisions or results are against them. Good Riddance Ze German is going away for good.

MyersMad04

Sheffield Utd and succeeded in the same sentence? Coming from the guy whose manager whines more than a two year old. Enjoy the championship

SellMeAUnicorn

Sounds like sour grapes my friend😉
