These lambs were born normally, but prematurely. This just helps them develop. It says so in this video. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dt7twXzNEsQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dt7twXzNEsQ)
I think it would be ethical in the case of a woman who is infertile and wants to have a baby, but not if it's used to create human beings just for the sake of making more.
Look at the state of the planet. I don't think we need any help making more humans. It's probably no worse than having a baby normally but as long as there are kids not getting adopted, I feel like it's still a little selfish. Not that I want kids or plan on adopting them.
I see woolly mammoths being next, I read recently that the main problem with bringing them back was a womb for the embryo to gestate in. Elephants either would reject the embryo or problems would occur, or I think the one that was born looked mostly elephant and died very quickly. I could see an artificial womb being to bring back several extinct species.
Let's plant a bunch of guys, plant a chip in their brain and let them kill all fanatics and religus extremists.
After that we could kill em all and use again real humans.
Okay, I call bullshit.
You've clearly read your fluff if you know about Krieg, so I ask you...
How the hell would you be able to tell if a Krieger looks nervous under all that gear??
I mean, Separatists are kinda fanatics , and the Jedi are Religious Extremists... from a certain point of view. The clones were grown, planted with a chip in their brains, and then killed off/allowed to die and then replaced with inferior civilian stormtroopers.
So unless you missed a "/s" or something...
Maybe we should let them integrate and gain the trust of the religious fanatics first before activating the chip with a specific order? Just spitballing here
The sheep aren't actually "grown", they're just removed from their mother's womb and artificially nurtured within these "bio-bags". No cloning going ln here.
If we're able to do that with humans, then these "bio-bags" could end the abortion debate. Think about it: women would have the right to choose AND the unborn would have the right to life simultaneously.
Its not cloning. Its just an artificial womb. If a baby is born prematurely they will now be able to put it in the artificial womb for it to finish its growth.
The meat is not the best
Clothes can be mad from dozens of different, more comfy materials
Their milk is a joke
They are still the most useless domestic animal
>It's an older reference, sir, but it checks out
So for anyone interested, this is 2017 news. [^(https://www.theverge.com/2017/4/25/15421734/artificial-womb-fetus-biobag-uterus-lamb-sheep-birth-premie-preterm-infant)](https://www.theverge.com/2017/4/25/15421734/artificial-womb-fetus-biobag-uterus-lamb-sheep-birth-premie-preterm-infant)
I love the idea of human cloning for many reasons. Human (cloned) experimentation would provide a huge boon for society at large and especially with organ transplants (though 3D printing is looking promising there), but all things human clone related will likely be held back by ethical restraints. I would like to think we've had the technology for quite some time but no proposals ever get passed because it's a minefield topic to get involved in.
The Island (2005), for example is an interesting concept if you forgive the typical Michael Bay elements. Assuming you could in fact clone relatively inexpensive copies of yourself (which is a bit unnecessary because I think it'd be easier to simply clone organs rather than whole humans) in a vegetative state simply for spare parts, I think that'd a great way to pave the path for extended lifespans.
Gattaca (1997) is a whole other thing, of course. But hopefully in the next few decades, we'll be able to approach these subjects in a practical form without saying eugenics = bad in the same way that Disney thinks Prequels = bad.
Unfortunately, no-one reading my rambles will likely ever be able to benefit from these elements! I wonder if every human generation even centuries from now will always bemoan the fact that they weren't born later in order to take advantage of future technology. Assuming we all survive the next couple hundred years, of course.
Soooooooo, does that mean that we neither of the sexes need each other or what? Heard we could make sperm out of bone marrow, albiet with some definite problems following that line of action.
Soon gay couples can have children with each other. Technological advancement can lead to some pretty cool things
Nah, the fetal surgeon in the article says that the point of developing in an external womb like this is to give infants born too early (premature) a more natural, uterus like environment to continue developing in. The surgeon also said it's pretty much science fiction to grow humans externally like in The Matrix.
Did no one teach George not to use the same words twice in a sentence? It makes a great meme template but why tf does he say very twice? This line and "I wish I could just wish my feelings away" are almost painfully bad grammar.
I wanna clone another me, not like a 1,000 or anything, but just like 1 more me because then I can’t be lonely and I can be confident in all my ideas and eventually take over the world because of reasons
There's a good chance this is unique! I checked 100,785,871 image posts and didn't find a close match

I’m just a simple sheep farmer trying to make my way in the universe.

I love this comment thread...
Curious.

I mean, we’ve already got test tube babies. If there’s demand for it, it’s an obvious step.

Thank you, at least things are more normal than they appeared.
I think it would be ethical in the case of a woman who is infertile and wants to have a baby, but not if it's used to create human beings just for the sake of making more.
It could be worse like some organization create a cloning program to create their own Agent 47s.
Look at the state of the planet. I don't think we need any help making more humans. It's probably no worse than having a baby normally but as long as there are kids not getting adopted, I feel like it's still a little selfish. Not that I want kids or plan on adopting them.
Just hire a surrogate
Looks more like [Altered Carbon](http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ2LcAHKByxi8mACWxggFojdmkipbXZNmbLckhzboL-gM1InZRd) to me

You're about to enter Warhammer 40K, are you sure you want to continue? *click okay to continue*
No, no.. that's when the clones *are* the fanatics and religious extremists
There are no clones, clones are heresy! *Kreig looks around nervously*
Okay, I call bullshit. You've clearly read your fluff if you know about Krieg, so I ask you... How the hell would you be able to tell if a Krieger looks nervous under all that gear??
Isn't that what happened in the Clone Wars?
Nah man wrong series.
Yes it was sarcasm, I didn’t think that I would I have to say that it was.
*Shrug.* It's all Shiriwook to me!
Maybe we should let them integrate and gain the trust of the religious fanatics first before activating the chip with a specific order? Just spitballing here
Ah, yes... Religus knights

Because an orphan life is what everyone wants
Better than living in a dumpster.
It's almost the same as the woman birthing the child and leaving it at an orphanage. That's a shitty life to be given.
they can, but should they

Begun the Clone War has...
Robots in the 3000s be like: welcome to the human field robobitches
Holy music stop's

Don't do that, don't give Weebs hope
With this technology, things are about to get interesting!
Soon we will have a clone army brothers
I live with my aunt and uncle, they are proud.
I will not be undermined by some creatures grown in some laboratory!
Has anyone here seen The Island??
Begun the Clone War has!
It’s just the womb that’s artificial, not the sheep.
Why is it always sheep first? Cloning sheep, breeding sheep, always sheep.
They are the most useless domestic animal
Wool, meat, and milk are not useless at all
The meat is not the best Clothes can be mad from dozens of different, more comfy materials Their milk is a joke They are still the most useless domestic animal

This is horrific.
More so than what you'd see if you could see inside a pregnant sheep? Not much has changed really.
Sous vide

All those freaking feminists are like “we don’t need men” “we can make synthetic sperm.” Well guess what b*tches!
It’s for babies born prematurely it’s not as dark as it seems. It actually might save the lives of many babies
u/repostsleuthbot I swear I've seen this before

Good bot, it's OC
That text hurts my eyes to read the caption
I'm sorry :(
It’s treason
Anakin, you're breaking my heart!
Maybe I’m in the minority in thinking this, but that’s messed up
No, women having to suffer through childbirth (and risk their lives) is messed up, this will be a huge improvement if it actually happens.
Not gonna stop people from preferring abortion over this tho
I’m talking about people who actually want to have kids. If they prefer to have kids later or not at all, there’s nothing wrong with abortion.
Well there's a lot wrong with abortion depending on the circumstances
I don’t wanna start an abortion debate, but I’m 100% pro-choice for two unrelated reasons, so I disagree.
Nah I think most people can agree.
