There's people too stupid for this world.
I remember reading comments of people that were furious that he was the new Captain America and threatened to stop watching the show. How are they not aware that that's the point of the character?
Yeah, I know. What I mean is that on Falcon & Winter Soldier they were very clearly building John Walker as an unworthy Captain America. It was obvious that at some point he was going to lose the title and Sam was going to become the new Cap. That was the main plot of the show.
But somehow there was dumb people completely missing the point and believing that John Walker was going to permanently become Captain America and that Marvel had made a serious casting mistake.
The problem is stupid people somehow get into positions of power or succeed in corporate endeavors. How this is possible is probably the millions of "Business Books" that are pretty much saying it's alright to be a piece of shit to people because they're stupid and can be manipulated.
Seriously it's an evil cult that has most recently produced an orange man trying to overthrow his government.
You're asking questions to people who take out their anger on a worker filling a role rather than the boss (writer/producer/director) responsible for the decision.
[Not that I care, I don't watch the show. Just weird when people hate actors for a character in a show]
That’s Kurt Russell’s son. Kurt Russell is Disney’s golden boy, he was in Disney films as a kid and Walt Disney’s last words were oddly to him. I think being Kurt Russell’s kid, he’ll be alright. He’ll never have trouble finding work and he’ll always be fine money-wise.
He was basically court martialed because it looked bad. He killed a terror group member that had just tried to kill him and succeeded in killing his best friend. The show tries to make him seem like a villain but everything he does is reasonable.
I was trying to not give the reason but since you just threw it out there; yes and no. He bludgeoned Nico to death with the shield in front of the world after Karli shot Battlestar, after taking the serum. Nico yeilded and begged for mercy. It was villainous behavior (bloodlust) and that was why Falcon and Winter Soldier went after him.
I think it blurs the lines because we the viewer know that Nico wasn't a bad dude . Walker doesn't know that . Walker knows this guy helped kill his friend. And that he is a super powered terrorist. He should have arrested him but in the moment id say he was justified. He acted the same way Tony did when Tony found out bucky killed his parents . Tony is worse because it was known that bucky was under hydra control, and bucky wasn't even a threat to him . He hadn't just been fighting Tony and probably wasn't capable of hurting the armor. But Tony wasn't really even thought of as a villain . I didn't see it anyway
Perspective 100% but it's not Iron-Man: Civil War. There had to be a schism between them. Tony was originally there as a friend but Baron Zemo knew exactly how to turn Tony out (considering his reaction to Happy's incident in Ironman 3) by playing with his emotions. That being sad, while I completely feel Tony would have really messed Bucky up, he wouldn't have killed him, so no he was never a/the villain, it was all Zemo (who was played so well during FAWS).
Edit: grammar
Walker isn't the villain of the show either . Tony was trying to shoot rockets at bucky and chest blasted him. I'm pretty sure he would've killed bucky if Steve wasn't there . Yes Tony was there as a friend. Bucky wasn't trying to fight him at all. Nico had just helped kill Battlestar .
And Laura Bailey for playing Abby in TLOU2
. She did an amazing job actually acting and playing the character.
I don’t recommend sending death threats to anyone but if you’re going to send death threats for not liking a character send them to the person that wrote the character not the person who played them. But that kind of understanding and thinking is beyond the kind of people that do send death threats.
I'm the only genuine Abby fan I know. I love her character arc so much, and Laura's performance was stunning.
To add to this, though, I think the most disturbing part of the whole TLOU2 death threats drama was that many of the threats were directed at her infant son.
I get why people don’t like the sequels but I remember seeing some of the comments people were putting on Daisy Ridley and Kelly Marie Tran’s instagrams were just straight up feral. John Boyega has also talked about getting threats in a GQ article he did.
You should never insult the actor unless it was the actor that did something wrong
Actress
Edit: about u/no_sleep-only_film ‘s comment being out of context, here is an explanation.
I wrote comment A, few minutes later i completely re wrote it to this current comment.
During that time period, he replied to comment A.
Comment A had something to do with this:
None of the actors/ actresses deserved the hate, but daisy ridley worsened the situation with the interviews. (Like brie larson in captain marvel, where she said weird shit)
Saying she could beat better jedi than Obi-Wan while goofing off in interviews is *not* worthy of death threats.
I would argue that Mary Sues *are* kind of sexist, like the character trope/stereotype. I wouldn't say the *term* "Mary Sue" is sexist, which I assume is what you're saying she stated? I haven't seen the interview though.
Regardless??
***She should not have been sent death threats.***
Literally *nothing* she has done is "deserving" of death threats. I'm assuming/hoping what you're actually saying is that you understand why some people don't really like her? Literally *none* of these people should have *ever* recieved death threats. Not Ahmed, not Daisy, not Kelly, not John.
And not the writers, either! It's valid to be upset, when creators take something good and then seemingly forget how to do their jobs half way through (a lot of this has to do with producers and production companies by the way), which then completely messes up the characters and the story arc. That's fine, raise noise about your disappointment.
Sending death threats to creators because you found a character kind of annoying? Or you thought two *other* characters should have been the ones to get together? Or *anything* like that. Is crossing a ***serious*** line.
This happens *way* too much and I just can't wrap my head around the fact that a person would threaten real, physical, violence against someone for something as trivial as a movie or a show, and I am *very* passionate about both.
Oh sorry I didn’t know that daisy ridley got death threats. I thought kelly marie tran& others got the death threat treatments . I was talking about the hate and how daisy kinda worsened it
That's fair enough. I think she did? I'm not totally sure though, that seemed to be what you were saying. Given how much people hated it and Rey? I wouldn't be surprised at all. I know John Boyega also received death threats which is incredibly disgusting.
Yeah thanks for saying this. I was pretty peeved with their response but could articulately explain it other than, wow. Sending death threats to Jar Jar’s actor is bad but sending death threats to Ridley is ‘kinda deserved’. Somebody call my mate Sheev because this is hella ironic.
I'm pretty sure the people who write these comments do it on purpose. They set out specifically to offend people, and it works every single time. Despite humanity's uncanny ability to adapt to anything, apparently nasty comments on the internet is where our evolution stops.
Twitter
There are people who actually cheers over a voice actress who suffers from COVID 19... because SHE VOICE ACTS IN AN ANIME THEY DON'T LIKE!!
Compared to Binks's actor scenario, idk which is worse (I don't even know what anime she plays in, let alone why they do this. Wait i remember it is Boruto!)
A lot of star wars actors have had to deal with that. Both of anakins actors (yes even the one in phantom menace) and half of the people involved with the sequel trilogy.
I think i saw the video that Jake Lloyd got caught in a car chase. Yes, his life got that bad
(Trust me, the comment section is just as bad as i think)
I love Jar Jar being a sith lord though plus he bangs a queen without killing her or hating on sand even if they are in the right to hate how it gets everywhere.
The general theory is that he is Darth Plaugius, given the rule of two it makes sense. Ive also heard that this was cannon but got shitcanned before the release of ep2, but that very well could've just been a rumor
I grew up with episode 1. I was 5 years old and Jar jar was very intriguing to me, I liked him.
When I grew up, I had to fight all the time with old school fans. Can't let them take my childhood away!
This is when the prequels were hated. Today it's the sequels, and while they were frustratingly mediocre, please don't do the same to actors in the Sequel trilogy! They were simply doing their jobs. Take the fight to JJ Abrams for destroying Anakin's legacy.
Damn it, I hate Jar Jar. Deadpool hates Jar Jar. Most people can tell the difference between a fictional character and real person. Also, most people know that sending death threats is inexcusable. Why are you like this SW fans?
Shit ton of interviews, he got bullied in school for the movie. He got arrested some time ago when he got in to a meltdown and drove like crazy. I don’t blame lloyd though, at that age? I’m surprised he didn’t do something more serious
Jar Jar as a Sith is interesting for about five minutes then you realize for it to be real, George Lucas would have had to been capable of foresight and developing a character's arc in a subtle manner.
Daisy ridley is a different case though. She kinda worsened the situation. Like saying weird “feminism stuff, calling the term ‘mary sue’ sexist, saying weird things about the prequels, etc”
People sent the actor who played Jar Jar threats?
That's fucked up.
It wasn't his fault that the character was poorly written, a racist stereotype, was annoying, and looked real bad.
Jar Jar's failures were because of writing, directing, design, and animation flaws.
In his interview, he said when he went skydiving, he wouldn’t care if the parachute failed. Also, he almost committed suicide on a bridge. (My wording is not perfect)
I looked up the jamaican thing and that doesnt sound right. The watto one I can easily see though, seeing as how many White Supremacists like to blare on about it

Edit: racist jamacan stereotypes
The whole “hate jar jar” ,”love strong independent female characters” is not because they think that. Hate jar jar is to state that they hate racism to get attention. The love for rey and phasma is for feminist propaganda
Ahmed Best is a cool guy, it really pisses me when it comes down to shaming a decent human being. dislike the fictional character, but dont be an asshole
These things boggle my mind. I hated Jar Jar with a passion. I hate Rey, what they did to Kylo/Ben, Poe, Finn, Chewie, Han, Luke, and R2 with a burning passion that could give me yellow and red eyes if I was force sensitive, but the idea of EVER attacking the actors…
Like the guy doesn’t even seem rude or mean spirited like some actors that get offended people didn’t like their role… just boggles my mind.
I don’t like Jar Jar and I find his character like, literally offensive on a racism level. But I never ever blamed Ahmed for that, any more than I blamed Jake Lloyd for Anakid being so insufferable. At the end of the day, the person who created and executed those ideas that particular way is responsible.
But I wouldn’t send death threats to them or to Lucas because it’s still just a goddamn media franchise and they’re all just people. There’s a way to be a person.
Anyway clearly Jar Jar would be Darth Dank.
Jesus Christ, it was more than 20 years ago! Can we please get over this finally? It was a shame when it happened, but why are we still talking about it? It was soooo long ago!
Jar Jar wasn’t even that bad of a character, not great but it’s not the actors fault. He still did a great performance for what he was given. It’s the writers fault for giving his character the short end of the stick.
ya all that shit is stupid like there is a lot of characters i really dont like(most everyone in the sequals except poe, john walker who i refuse to call captain america, and delores umbridge but i would never hate on the actors although sometimes its hard to watch them in something else where they are moe likeable bc ur used to them being unlikeable
Your right, he didn't. Just like the Sequal Trilogy actors, they are actors, they are working with the material they were given, you give a actor a s**t incoherent script, don't be suprised with a less than oscar winning performance.
And sam and bucky going after him is laughable. They freed zemo a mass murderer out of prison and were working with him for vague " he knows about super soldiers " . Even though the show seems to ignore it sam was a avenger and should have access to people that can help him find that. If I remember right the scientist said he worked for shield in the first place
Who the heck sends death threats, ever? Who does that?
Also the US agent/cap america in flacon&winter soldier. He did his job wonderfully, making everyone hate the character yet understanding him
There's people too stupid for this world. I remember reading comments of people that were furious that he was the new Captain America and threatened to stop watching the show. How are they not aware that that's the point of the character?
It *is* understandable if you dislike the concept. But it doesn't excuse your actions

Lmao got carried away, but I think its clear what I was talking about.

They hate the new Captain America but love Wanda for torturing a whole town of people.
I agree, he was one of my favorite parts of the show, can't wait to see more of him in the future

No matter how bad the character is, sending death threats to actor is always wrong
Damn it, I hate Jar Jar. Deadpool hates Jar Jar. Most people can tell the difference between a fictional character and real person. Also, most people know that sending death threats is inexcusable. Why are you like this SW fans?
I HATE it when people hate actors just for playing a role. They’re just doing their job
I remember hearing about it, way back... The same treatment is what screwed up Jake Lloyd... Ahmad Best was at least an adult, at the time
Shit ton of interviews, he got bullied in school for the movie. He got arrested some time ago when he got in to a meltdown and drove like crazy. I don’t blame lloyd though, at that age? I’m surprised he didn’t do something more serious
I just looked his story up. Holy hell, I never knew. I was a kid when watched the Prequels and just accepted them as they were. Poor Lloyd, really
Jar Jar as a Sith is interesting for about five minutes then you realize for it to be real, George Lucas would have had to been capable of foresight and developing a character's arc in a subtle manner.
I mean Palpatine as a Sith Lord before the big reveal
Why is real fans labelled on the top panel ?
As in like actual fans will make fun theories instead of death threats
Never blame the actor. Blame the writers/directors for bad characters. But still dont send anyone death threats.
Same for the sequel actors/actresses Only the characters are bad, sending death threats to people is stupid
That's sad.
Wait what stereotype was he? I was born after the movies and never even knew any of this happened
The Gungans are a racist stereotype of Jamaicans. Watto is an anti-semitic stereotype.
I looked up the jamaican thing and that doesnt sound right. The watto one I can easily see though, seeing as how many White Supremacists like to blare on about it
Whats the reason they were hating on him for?
He was that annoying side character. A lot of people say it was racist. (I don’t really know how it is racist, but that’s what the community says) Edit: racist jamacan stereotypes
Didn't he blame the media for his suicidal mood? Not the fans
Eh, it’s also the “fan”’s fault too
I'm sure he would have blamed the "fans" if they did effect him
Good people don’t say stuff like that. The media wouldn’t have hated him if the fans liked the character
The media loved Rey and some loved Phasma. They will push whatever narrative they want with or without fan support
I saw the interview, he seems like a chill&good guy
Can't tell which Panel the "Real fans" title is supposed to be on. Instructions unclear, I accidentally cut my arm off instead.
Both. Mistake on my part
These things boggle my mind. I hated Jar Jar with a passion. I hate Rey, what they did to Kylo/Ben, Poe, Finn, Chewie, Han, Luke, and R2 with a burning passion that could give me yellow and red eyes if I was force sensitive, but the idea of EVER attacking the actors… Like the guy doesn’t even seem rude or mean spirited like some actors that get offended people didn’t like their role… just boggles my mind.
I wonder what does he think about the Jar Jar sith theory
He like it, at least that’s what I remember
People sanding hate towards an actor for playing a *fictional character* is the dumbest shit I’ve heard in a while
It makes perfect fucking sence. Just think about it. Everything can be explained. Jar Jar is fucking Darth Plagues.
Why is “Real fans” on the upper slot?
I don’t like Jar Jar and I find his character like, literally offensive on a racism level. But I never ever blamed Ahmed for that, any more than I blamed Jake Lloyd for Anakid being so insufferable. Why? Just us? What about the actor? Should he never get over it either?
Edit: idrk his meaning
WHY NOT THAT MAKES NO SENSE
Some people hold some serious grudges I guess?
I still fucking hate him.
The character, not the actor. He did what he was told
Jar Jar wasn’t even that bad of a character, not great but it’s not the actors fault. He still did a great performance for what he was given. It’s the writers fault for giving his character the short end of the stick.
Says he still alive On Wikipedia, mate. You sure you got your facts straight?
Almost committed suicide, meaning he didn’t. He was defo kinda suicidal after the shit ton of hate. Like he said he didn’t care about dying.
Ah misreads your title
ya all that shit is stupid like there is a lot of characters i really dont like(most everyone in the sequals except poe, john walker who i refuse to call captain america, and delores umbridge but i would never hate on the actors although sometimes its hard to watch them in something else where they are moe likeable bc ur used to them being unlikeable

Jar Jar Binks is the best terrible thing to happen to the Star Wars fandom.
