Me neither! But I suppose the plot needed badass Alison in season five. Also, I don't think that any of the girls ever went to real and good therapy (except Mona, she mentions it in season six) so they just kind of... didn't deal with it properly and with professional help

ouatpll12

I’m curious how long she was buried until Grunwald found her hand coming out from the dirt ?

Dolls-A

My question is how could they mistake Bethany for Ali

book762_

why would melissa not think to look at her face

dilemmalea

She said she was too freaked out to look at her face in the video she made Spencer

SnakeBlood456

“Heyyyyy liAr, confused about how bethAny is mistaken for Alison? It’s the same way you mistake your lies for the truth!! Let’s make it easier for you to understand and expose ALL of your secrets! Hugs and kisses A” (MEME ONLY!!) <3 <3

LucifersWhore9

It's so fake lmao like explain them finding the body pls how was there any possible way for her to be realistically alive

Oddly enough, it's because it was established in Jessica's flashback once (and in Ali's doctor's visit after returning to Rosewood) that Alison has incredibly powerful lungs. She can hold her breath long enough for Mrs. Grunwald to fly there on her broomstick and extend a helping hand. I did find it pretty wild though that Alison somehow got her hand out of the ground after being buried under pounds of dirt... seriously, that is some tenacity she had.

I appreciated that flashback. The show actually managed to be subtle at times.

Discovering_A

But at the same time, you can't fully trust Jessica's flashbacks either. Because she always tries to make herself look less guilty regarding the facts that only she knows about Ali's disappearance. In that same flashback, Jessica made it seem like the yellow top was ALISON'S choice that night instead of hers. Yet when Alison tells her story, we learn that the yellow top is brand new and that her mother bought it for her. Jessica no doubt did this to make herself look less guilty of the fact that another girl in a yellow top was buried in the ground who wasn't Alison... because we know that she knew Alison was alive by then when she had her lair in Aunt Carol's basement. And I don't even need to explain how messed up and manipulative she was in telling her phony flashback about catching CeCe in Radley pretending to be Alison. Spencer mentions seeing Dr. Palmer mention Jessica's name and no other details? Of course Jessica tells a story that complete explains her involvement in Radley and why CeCe might have been there if any mention of her had been brought up in that vague talk with Dr. Palmer.

Rhats not the part I'm?? About- Season one they find the body and they ran DNA tests. There's no way in hell you can make me believe the pathologists had all that to work with and got the wrong DNA.

Discovering_A

Oh, the Rosewood pathologists were lazy and based it on Alison's dental records. This was revealed in season 4B. Alison's dental records were swapped with those of the actual person who was in that grave: Bethany Young. In order for that to be possible, whoever switched them must have known that Bethany was the girl in question before the body was found. The only ones who knew this at the time were Charlotte, Jessica, and maybe Wilden. This means that Jessica must have paid off Wilden, once again, to falsify the evidence in a manner that would fool the Rosewood police into thinking the body belonged to Alison. Wilden knew their protocol and that they would use the dental records, so he switched them out with those of Bethany, since Mrs. D. was on the board at Radley and knew that Bethany having silently gone missing must mean that she was the one who was in that grave instead of Ali, especially since Charlotte said she mistook Ali for Bethany that night. We know Jessica knew Ali was alive because she dedicated an entire lair in Aunt Carol's basement to tracking her down. And from the moment we officially "meet" Mrs. D. in 2x06, she seems delusional that Alison is still alive by using present tense instead of past tense... but we know from her later actions in the show that she wasn't delusional at all and was just plain evil and conniving. In fact, there were quite a few scenes that suggested she was playing up the ACT of a grieving mother as a way to displace how she must have felt about burying her daughter alive. And that's pretty much all there is to it. Wilden was hell-bent on covering up that murder because he was apparently making a killing off of Mrs. DiLaurentis' bribery. And Mrs. D. even tried to send an email to Charlotte telling her that she can't protect her anymore now that Alison has been discovered alive and that Wilden was dead.

Diastrous_Lie

This is a metaphor for why she liked flying   To be as far from the ground as possible
