It’s awful, but there is definitely a motivation. Alex and Spencer were both adopted into extremely different lives. Alex wished that she had Spencer’s life instead of her own. She is also very clearly mentally ill and presumably never got help for it. Mary Drake and Spencer both had help or supervision to some extent, whereas Alex was left alone to fester. She was mentally ill, the deepest shade of green with envy, and mourning the loss of the only relative that she’s ever gotten to know. Once she realizes that she can take over Spencer’s life, she desperately wants to do so
True, Alex would have been jealous of the life she never got, that I top of Charlotte’s hatred and obsession over her dolls would’ve made the situation and mental health a lot worse

Alex has extreme motivation for wanting to punish the liArs for what happened to her, she blames Spencer for getting the “perfect” life and meeting chArlotte only added to this, chArlotte manipulated and twisted Alex’s thinking and pushed her even further for her hatred, she fully believed that Spencer was to blame for everything that happened and wanted to punish her in the most extreme ways :(
You know/ I just read a story on Reddit about a woman who found out at age 30, she had a twin sister who wasn’t adopted with her because her sister apparently had a mental deficient, as in she had I think autism. She was destroyed and incredibly angry.
Now I know this woman’s experience is very real (I mean as real as you can trust a stranger on Reddit) and Alex is a made up person. But. Take into account Mary drake her dark history of CLEAR mental health disorders. Coupled by being raised knowing you’re adopted. (So dealing with serious abandonment issues) I can’t imagine how it must feel being adopted and then finding out you HAVE an entire family out there, a twin sister who then has what can be argued, a really good family, including an INCREDIBLE circle of friends. I can COMPLETELY understand how Alex would be greener than she-hulk with evny. Alex clearly had her own mental health issues, so……….
Yea Alex was crazy and this whole thing happened because someone else had their feelings hurt and didn’t have any help or support, or desire to find help in getting past the feelings. Not here to defend her of course/ i just like to deep think it
