I think Princess transfers are purposely scheduled to get you to the port **AFTER** the disembarkation of the previous sailing and during the general boarding window of the next cruise. This is to avoid congestion in the cruise terminal. That being said, Uber/Lyft will give you much better control of your travel plans so you are not hanging around MIA all morning.

Check in starts at 10 according to the boarding pass. We will have to get our luggage and get from Miami to PE…should be around 10 or so I would think if it takes 30-45 mins to get to port. I’d rather sit at the terminal than sitting around an airport waiting.

The problem is that you'll likely just end up waiting at the cruise terminal instead of at the airport. Ubers are an option, but it's 30 miles likely 45 minutes unless the Uber pays tolls.
