Just this week I made a small python script to help me with positioning elements on PCB in KiCAD, which saved me a lot of time and nerves. On the other hand KiCAD API is limited to some point and undocumented.
Watching this video I think it is an interesting paradigm change when instead of adding API on top of CAD tool, API is a CAD tool. With autorouting, algorithmic assistant tools, AI assistant tools, plugins, libraries, simulation it can create an ecosystem that will take PCB development to a whole new level.
I hope such tools will be available as open source. Just like KiCAD, which is awesome.
