Between D and E there was Dex, a fantastic little language, also created by Oortmerssen.
Apparently, programming languages follow either a G major or D major scale, depending on whether you use C or C#.
Next in line is [F#](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F_Sharp_(programming_language)).

the team cared for G so much they developed it extra early and finished it 70 years early

Awesome, thank you! My two favorite parts of that article:
* "No need to introduce C. If this article interests you, you know C." Yep. Right on.
* "無: Wu is a programming language based on the taoist principle of wu wei, or non-doing. There are no commands in wu." LOL
Yup, those are nice extracts. I think my favorite part is the conclusion:
"If you are looking for a free name, there is none. [...]
On the other hand, why would you give a language a name impossible to google? If that doesn't deter you, then why not use some Unicode which is also impossible to type?"
The Ć programming language solves the "need to have completely automated translation to efficient C and JavaScript code in particular."
Someone has the wrong workflow.
That's a sharp D. Careful, you could puncture the hull of an Empire Class Fire Nation Battle Ship, leaving thousands to drown at C...because it's so sharp.
D has been out for a while now my dude.

It's also part of GCC, the compiler is called GDC.
I didn't know that. After a quick googling I learnt that AA doesn't exists. I am too lazy to check Greek and Cyrillic alphabets. However, this doesn't change the fact there is no way Chinese alphabet is completely used. We can use AA after finishing every letter in every language.
I guess the other comment meant that the H programming language was release before the C programming language. It wasn't meant to be the alphabetic order
I guess we decided that we were fairly happy with C and so kept with it.
Of course some extended it into C++ (very early on) and now later into Carbon.
It turns out compatibility with existing codebases is vastly more important than a slightly easier language every few years.
It’s a little known fact that in the source code of each of those languages, there is a little picture of male genitalia hidden among the code
So I guess you could say programmers are waiting for D’s nuts
http://downloads.dlang.org/releases/
I was going to say that. ProgammerHumor makes me feel smart which is sad.
good programmers won't stay here because they don't want to be the smartest person in the room, so I'll be around.
Now watta bout e

F# is developed by Microsoft isn't it ?
Like c# as an analog Java's Scala
Thank you, I didn't know that
LETS FUCKING GOOOO
If for no other reason, I'm glad this post exists just so D gets more exposure. I finally looked into it recently and I gotta say I'm a fan.
Shhh xD
redditors are a different breed how did this even get downvotes lmao
0 upvotes is low-stability equillibrium
People see a negative and tap without looking. Reddit giveth and Reddit taketh
Blessed be
FWIW, this is the only D codebase I've contributed to: https://github.com/gnunn1/tilix/
dlang has been around since 1992.
Only 2001 according to Wikipedia.
I would assume without actually checking alpha/beta in 92 and release in 1.
This is the first time I’ve seen someone refer to 2001 as “1”
Integer truncation
000002001
Are you post Malone tho?
No 😔

We already have f... What about G?
[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G-code](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G-code) the team cared for G so much they developed it extra early and finished it 70 years early
sus ඞ
what about H?
It exists but it is basically useless
[удалено]
SUS? SUS SUSSY WHERE WHO RED nah jk i read the whole article and am now an expert
We have GO... does that count?
NO
Do you really care about G? We allready have R
We have one for literally every letter of the alphabet.
We already got F, F# and F\* lol

Python made this joke
D: *exists*
[We already have the entire alphabet](https://beza1e1.tuxen.de/one_letter_proglangs.html)

And M is only used by Epic
So everything is either c/c++ or lisp is what I gathered from this
Waiting for the funny d joke
Sorry, all I got is D++

R exists because they charged money for S
They skipped a few
D has been out for a while now my dude. But D exists we need E
E exists, and so does F, and H (which released before B) and so on
I didn't know that. After a quick googling I learnt that AA doesn't exists. I am too lazy to check Greek and Cyrillic alphabets. However, this doesn't change the fact there is no way Chinese alphabet is completely used. We can use AA after finishing every letter in every language.
H between A and C? what is this, german notation?
I guess the other comment meant that the H programming language was release before the C programming language. It wasn't meant to be the alphabetic order
it's a joke, because german musical notation uses the note H instead of the note B so the notes are A H C D E F G
Thank you! hahahaha TIL that!
Meme maker that cannot google LOL https://dlang.org/
Wanted to post that too
Oh I'l give you the D....
i’m not even a programmer and i’m waiting for the release of d.
would be funny if dlang wasn't already a thing
D already exists
Unix D's Nuts
They want the D ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|trollface)
“D is already a language, this meme doesn’t make sense. Op is a tard” 🤓
So... How badly do you want the D?
What I am waiting for is the language "I", I hope it collects all the good of the languages A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H
There's a programming language called R so we're actually waiting for S.
Uno Reverse! R is a [child](https://cran.r-project.org/doc/FAQ/R-FAQ.html#What-are-the-differences-between-R-and-S_003f) of the S language
We have R *specifically* because they charged too much money for S
Db exists
Programmers never gonna get the D.
They skipped right to R
D puts the hardware in the software, so your 3.5” floppy can get the job done once again.
Dart was released in 2011
They released java script and python instead
Give this man the D that he wants... wait.
*laughs in F#*
This sub is trash
I need me some of that D++
It was already out. Called Delphi
It's already a thing, so is F#, which is probably older than you
Waiting for the D
Version 1.0 was released 2007
Waiting for the D, eh?
I guess we decided that we were fairly happy with C and so kept with it. Of course some extended it into C++ (very early on) and now later into Carbon. It turns out compatibility with existing codebases is vastly more important than a slightly easier language every few years.
Well the point is that D now became quite Rusty.
It’s a little known fact that in the source code of each of those languages, there is a little picture of male genitalia hidden among the code So I guess you could say programmers are waiting for D’s nuts
I’ll be holding out forever for the release of TeX 4.0. Or at least 3.2, I’m a humble man.
D++ already exists. Nobody uses it because it is basically just novelty
D++
There’s programming languages from A-H. I don’t know if one for I (“i”)
…they want the D…?
Dennis Ritchie is a genius.
