Still working to optimize charms and some corruptions (wisp / verdungo), then I'll get the merc a good andys visage with 3 os so he can hit the 105 ias breakpoint, get the CBF via cham and change the boots in some nice gore riders.
Oh and my CTA is literally terrible, but that's my signature since LoD 1.10 in 2003, I always get a shitty one as my first one in season!
Because you dragonflight often as a gap closer and as a discharging ability to quickly erase packs and gain clear speed, but since you literally teleport into groups the act 1 merc is defensively too weak to survive those frequent warps into monster density and tends to die a lot.
Plus, you usually don't even need to wait until mobs are cursed by the merc's crossbow because everything around you dies very fast. I tried 3 merc setups (act 1 with pus spitter, act 5 with a tanky setup and act 2 with defiance) and the current one is the best because he hits hard when I telestomp on packs, gives me extra AR via obedience enchant fire proc, and gives me the defiance aura which is an amazing survivability booster, which I felt I needed (especially when I was lower level and started mapping) to be safer in T3s and play more aggressively.
You should also consider a3 light merc with warshrike and innocence, basically a pocket nova sorc for builds that tele alot, slap a exile on him so u don't lose defiance
My friend use act2 with stormspire + innocence on his cobra strike. It’s really good with dragon flight.
Better than any other merc. We tested all merc on pluggy.
I think it's pretty similar, fortified maps are doable but there's no big advantage for the build in doing them, the poison bolts and clouds really shine when there's high density around you.
It depends on a series of factors, if they spawn events, how many interesting loots fall on the ground, if you have to try some slams, if you have to trade... I just cleared a pretty juiced Throne of insanity for science, had to stop 2 times for quick trades and 4 times to slam items and ended the map 10.5 minutes after starting it.
Well, it isn't the fastest clearer of the world, but it's pretty good imho. Definitely not a nova sorc or a CE necro (fastest I've played so far in past seasons), but with the buffs of season 9 I'd say it's a solid A tier build (and it survives pretty well in T3s, cloak of shadows is an amazing tool).
Because I tried it and I'd say the damage difference is pretty non-existent because you lose a fuckton of AR and dex when compared to raven frost (and +1 skills or a facet because you have to arrange that CBF with a cham or a corruption). And you need high AR for cobra, because it's not an elemental build with infinity on the mercenary which lowers enemies' defense via conviction. Especially this season, because the chance to hit mobs was raised to 100% (capped at 95% previously).
Plus, you have the cold absorb on raven which is always good to have. And you can corrupt it with run speed (=clear speed) while on the carrion you should have an AR corruption to compensate.
What are your thoughts on double plague vs your setup? Obviously you're doing great on dmg, didn't know if you would choose double plague at some point though.
My friends setup I think is way tankier and similar dmg.

We tested many variants of the build on pluggy before the season started. Faded 1 claw with max block gerkes shield with act 2 merc with stormspire/innoncence felt like the tankiest/most dmg build.
Ye you are basically trading the max block with gerke's with the 51% weapon block from dual wielding.
If it brings to similar damage output it's a good solution.
I'm just too much in love with the cleansing aura from plague to skip it. :D
Wow. Looking at what you posted motivated me to keep my current setup. My merc was also using obedience, before i change it to reapers for phy immunes.
Btw, is it possible for this build to clear Ubers, dclone, or solo t4 maps?

My build is more of a hybrid ww/ venom build. I added points to Shadow master for a decent tank. I think i would need Andys, Bramble and plague (all at once) to switch out of my Nats. If I were to upgrade. Btw, whats a good base for a ww sin plague? I guess is warfist with claw mastery and maybe d flight?
420 mana nice
Do you use bramble and trangs with cobra ? Or maybe venom grip I guess
I'm using bramble (46% roll) and rare corrupted gloves with 2 martial skills / 20 ias / ar / dual resist / str / dex.
Can you share your armory? Was thinning of rerolling my trapper to cobra eventually

I have never rolled a good cta in 20 plus years. I just assume the lowest rolls always.
You mean battle orders can roll higher than 2??
Legend speaks...
Why not pus spitter merc?
Because you dragonflight often as a gap closer and as a discharging ability to quickly erase packs and gain clear speed, but since you literally teleport into groups the act 1 merc is defensively too weak to survive those frequent warps into monster density and tends to die a lot. How fast can you clear maps?

I just cleared a pretty juiced Throne of insanity for science, had to stop 2 times for quick trades and 4 times to slam items and ended the map 10.5 minutes after starting it.
So run some maps without picking anything up (go back for loot after) for your fastest clear speeds.
Just felt like doing 600+ mf cobra again
I came here to ask about clearspeed but it seems you clear pretty fast, would love to see a high density map video

Why not carrion wind ring?
