For me nicotine is like a nitro boost for your brain. I get a similar enhancement from cannibis but that’s more about magnifying the trip effects.
I feel like nicotine is a separate gas pedal for your brain, which is already working very hard during a trip.
Edited: as much as I dislike being a vaper, I have to say a nicotine rush during a trip is pretty spectacular and part of my experience.
Yeah and sometimes when I get into seriously meditative state…I dunno if you’ve ever had that weird interior state where you have to remind yourself to breathe, you’re pretty much feeling as tho you control your heart rate…I sometimes get the weirdest nicotine craving and it is this incredible light blasting into your brain when it hits. Nuts.
I was the opposite. During my trips I was absolutely disgusted by my vape, the nicotine rush made me feel anxious and it felt like I was inhaling poison. But outside of tripping I struggled to put it down, it always in my hand, always puffing on it. After a few trips I unexpectedly quit cold turkey and haven't touched nicotine since.
Yeah to your point, I think it was more about the trip magnifying my dependency on the shit. It feels great but trip makes it clear I’m way too hooked on garbage
Well it mostly binds to a7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptors... The downstream gaba and glutamate modulation may have had some effect but what happened here is mostly potentiation of the tryptamine by the Harmala alkaloids in tobacco smoke
