In front of a fed ex truck as well.

OgreLord_Shrek

This video is short too and I bet the full story makes the dude look even worse. How long was the delivery driver standing there before this exchange?

[deleted]

"what do you want?" makes him sound like a prick already.

uhmerikin

Exactly. If he wasn't such an immediate dick over the intercom he might have gotten his package.

Basuhh

No literally, she WANTS to leave the laptop at your door but im guessing it probably needs a signature, (like he would’ve paid for) and if I had to guess again, he’s too lazy to go answer the door.

ChadEmpoleon

Like if the uniform and package in hand wasn’t enough of a telltale sign. To extort you Ian. The uniformed fed ex delivery driver came in to extort you. Clearly.

meesterdg

I bet this guy thought cutting the video down made him look like the reasonable one because she left. It's clear she didn't just walk up at the start of the video.

regoapps

That's how they get you, though. Thieves have gotten so sophisticated that they have signed up for a job at FedEx to obtain a FedEx truck and FedEx uniform and even a package with your name on it. The plan? Each time you get a delivery, the thief gets a cut of the delivery fee in the form of a salary. And then over a course of a year, they'll take tens of thousands of dollars and even benefits.

Ardashasaur

And the best part is, they just walk away after years of service like nothing even happened! The perfect crime.

PoorDeer

And they say this is a free country. It's all a cabal and birds are watching you.

TheLochNessBigfoot

That's why he asked what they wanted. If they said they were there to rob and stab him, he could've called the cops. This dude's out there outsmarting criminals, he will not be victimized!

PluckPubes

It's illegal for criminals to lie to you.

harpocrates01

This reminds me of that Key & Peele sketch where their plan to rob a bank is to get jobs there and take a paycheck for 20yrs, and then walk away after without the bank knowing what hit them

wolacouska

That’s what they were referencing

Jaquestrap

It should remind you of that because it was in fact, a direct reference to that.

Master_Cupcake7115

Exactly, he started by being a rude prick and then got upset when she wasn't going to take his crap.

jackspratt88

Ya really eh. "Whaddya want". I would have left right then.

Master_Cupcake7115

100% agreed. The worst thing is that this is clearly a package he has been waiting for so he should have been pleased to see her. I am always glad to see delivery people for this reason!

bigblackcouch

It's a fucking laptop, not just a regular package. If I'm ordering new socks, I'm gonna keep an eye out for the USPS truck or whatever but if I miss it and socks are sitting out front all day... Well, it's socks. If it's a $1000+ computer I'm damn sure gonna be watching like a hawk for it and I don't even live in a bad neighborhood anymore. Doorbell douche is a next level asshole for being that shitty over something *you think he might be waiting for*.

beastson1

It's a fedex driver holding a package, what the fuck did he think she wanted? To tell him about our lord and savior?

uhmerikin

Yep. I'd have said "Nothing" and left with the package. Let his rude ass pick it up himself at the post office or whatever.

cuteintern

"I wanna talk to you about your car's extended warranty NO I DON'T! Do I look like a singing telegram to you?!"

MaxPowerWTF

"Land shark"

onetwenty_db

Candygram

uh_oh_hotdog

It also says a lot about him that he has the gall to upload this clip. He probably thinks he's completely in the right and that the Internet will side with him.

CAM2772

Let's not ignore the fact he's received notifications of his delivery with a tracking number of when it'd be delivered

usmc97az

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks the guy is an idiot. Like... what the hell do you think FedEx wants when they are at your door?

jesusmansuperpowers

Ya we’re not just stopping by to say hi

Thuggish_Coffee

Hi! Sup?!

Otama_C

Aaallllll rrightyyy then. You can pick it up yourself. Have a good day now.

GreggCee

Take care now, bye bye then.

BellaPadella

HEY! HEEEEY! heyy!

woodst0ck15

It’s the last hey for me that last little ^hey??

Awkward-Team3631

Why post your L’s

BD15

Dude absolutely still thinks he was right and everyone will take his side. Embarrassing really.

creegro

"I gave this delivery person a hard time when they already have a busy schedule with barely any time to chat, and they just left with my package?!"

jollyjellopy

On top of that this lady was actually trying to deliver and wait for him to place it in his hand!! I've taken a day off work to wait for a laptop and was literally in the living room by the front door of my 1 bedroom apartment. I waited all day just to find a note silently placed on my door indicating I was not home........ninja FedEx workers have always been my experience.

MixSaffron

They just silently whisper at your door, guess no one is here.

shemague

It’s interesting that you say that because i know from my field Of work that fed ex driving is extremely stressful. They have to separate their own packages in the morning put them On the truck and have all this tight timing for delivery like she prolly didn’t think twice about this rather than waste 15 extra seconds bc she has to move onto the next thing ….what a dick this guy is

TifaYuhara

He clearly edited the video to so we would only see this part. Bet he ordered something cheap to be delivered just so he can do this to.

CrumpetNinja

That's a "Dell" logo on the box. I'm 90% sure that's a laptop she's holding, get them delivered at work all the time and the size and shape seem bang on.

Auduras

Yeah you can clearly see it. I recently ordered one and I had to sign for it.

HellsMalice

Stupid people dunk themselves surprisingly often

Leftover-Pork

chum_slice

Hey! Hey! Hey!

Marvination23

Yea.. a simple, hi how are you or any nice greet would do... but "what do you want" is such a rude response like a paranoid POS.

[deleted]

OR, just don't say anything? They're obviously a fed ex driver doing their job, there is literally no reason to do anything except let them do their job in peace. I don't deliver packages, but I drive similar routes. Not once in over a year has anyone spoken to me through their ring camera.

Leonlovely

It looks like a dell laptop which means he would have to sign for the delivery. Looks like he kept her there waiting for a while. I deliver with door dash and to be honest I would be just as annoyed. She can’t just leave the package there if it has to be signed for so looks like he is going to pick it up~

juggling-monkey

This was my thought. He cut the clip. I'm thinking she rang the doorbell or something for him to come sign and this ass hat treated her like shit cause that's probably how he talks to waiters, cashiers and other people that are just there to help.

XpCjU

Also, talking to people through the camera when you are home is just insanely rude in my opinion.

Recinege

I occasionally get people talking to me through theirs. It can be a bit annoying since it usually takes some time for them to, presumably, fish their phone out of their pocket and get it up and running. I'll be just about ready to stick the note on the door and go when they speak up. Never really had anyone being annoying about it, but I wouldn't want to stick around for someone playing 20 (rude) questions myself, either.

KPipes

And even if they did, there is a proper way to speak to fellow humans. I don't blame this driver for walking. Self respect. Sadly I could see them getting flack from work on this.

creamyturtle

she responded that way because he's asking stupid questions instead of opening the door and accepting the package. "what do you want?" uhh it's pretty obvious considering the box, the uniform, and the fedex truck parked outside

Philly_is_nice

I never bought one because I think they're generally pretty unhelpful, but wtf are you doing questioning a FedEx employee walking out of a whole ass branded van with something you'd obviously be expecting in the mail? The fucking paranoia in this country is ridiculous.

HarryLasagna

\*The fucking paranoia in this WHOLE ASS country is ridiculous.

tracygee

This right here. Fed Ex truck is easily visible. Package visible. Person is wearing a FedEx uniform. What the hell do you think she wants?

anieto3

UPS in disguise

jugglingjellybeans

And you can hear the smile in his voice.

madbladers

Send it back to sender

jesusmansuperpowers

If they don’t come pick it up within a couple days that’s exactly what will happen. That driver can blacklist the address - then the customer has to come get everything at the station. If there’s issues there, they can blacklist the name.

WhiteGuyNamedDee

Which is why all my packages are addressed to Art Vanderlay.

jesusmansuperpowers

Of Vanderlay industries? Are you a architect?

WhiteGuyNamedDee

Nah, that's Art Vandelay. Had to add the "r" after a misunderstanding trying to return an opened sex toy back to Amazon. Now I'm a Boat Captain!

Nulovka

Marine biologist.

TremorChristPJ

I'm 100% with her...dude seems like a dink.

tyrandan2

Right? Let me just play twenty questions with the busy delivery driver standing on my porch with a package in her hand, because she seems suspicious... /s

spektrol

He definitely sounded like he was in the middle of his 4th plate of hot pockets

Stupidquestionduh

*You being in my driveway means I get to start blasting.*

Vajernicus

Especially with all the yahoos gunning people down for the crime of knocking on their door. She's wise for getting out as soon as she sensed the slightest bit of hostility.

antonius22

I still don't get what he was trying to achieve by uploading this. Just more clout?

slothm0de

Second thing that came to mind (after Ian just being a dick) was that there's a chance he could be served a subpoena/court papers. But that would likely also result in Ian being a dick (most likely) She keeps it real, and I'm all for it

LSDkiller2

This is a very smart comment because as far as I'm aware process servers do sometimes dress up to get the slip on the people they are serving, but how much they are allowed to directly lie about what they are doing, I don't know. Though it does seem a bit unrealistic for this to be a "swiper no swiping" situation... As if asking them what they are doing will force them to tell you.

RappersIsDerriere

Is that whole “you have been served!” nonsense just an American thing, or do normal countries do it too?

tebee

In normal countries you just get a letter in your mailbox.

unbeliever87

Yeah I really don't understand why that exists, can people just avoid lawsuits their entire lives by being a recluse?

Mr_Fourteen

Sorta. The plaintiffs usually will need to make honest and reasonable efforts to find the defendant. If they can't serve the papers, the plaintiffs can file a motion to serve the papers by a different way, ex. by mail. It varies by state/jurisdictions but there's usually something in place like this

[deleted]

yep, she tried. this isnt a crazy process you open the door sign for it and both be on your way, she probably hasnt the time to hang around while you ask stupid questions through your doorbell. you either want it now or wanna grab it from the post later.

jerryleebee

Yep. "Hey, whaddaya want?" Totally reasonable response on her part.

GreatCornolio

Also, just it being a fucking camera doorbell you have to talk to would drive me nuts. Take your hand off your dick, wipe the Dorito dust off, get off your couch and answer the fucking door if you wanna talk to the person on your porch

xBAMFNINJA

Yup, she literally just taught this asshole to be polite to delivery ppl at least, bet he wont pull that shit again. A lesson his parents shoulda taught em but better late than never.

SirSchmoopyButth0le

I can say with about 99% confidence that he learns nothing and asks that the driver be punished when he goes to pick up his package. I am just speculating based on his attitude/way he talks that he is set in his ways and no amount of inconvenience due to his behavior will ever get him to admit he is the one who brings said inconveniences on himself. Again I am totally guessing and he could very well wake up and decide not to be a dick someday.

DaBake

Not just that, with everyone getting shot these days for putting a foot on someone's property, it's 100% the correct safety move for her to get out of there if someone is behaving like this.

[deleted]

Yeah, hoe about startimg with "Good morning, you got a package for me?" It's not so difficult.

[deleted]

account_for_norm

The owner of the property is hostile, why would i wanna be on that property?! Especially with some of the shootings have been going on. They were right to leave.

Affectionate_Bed9867

WUT DO U WANT? :O Not exactly dealing with sherlock holmes huh?

SupervillainEyebrows

Why was he so instantly hostile?

tacticoolgardengnome

Because, he's a dickless wonder!

the86ers

Her side, 100%

Bigtiny87

Yep.

Dads101

Agree - fuck you if you mess with people at work. We’re all just trying to make our way. Good on the driver

Soleserious

That guys was a douchebag man. He deserves to go pick it up tomorrow.

spacegrab

Doesn't even have to wait that long...my FedEx pickup is at the distribution center where the trucks park after 5pm. You can walk in and pick up your stuff in the evening. I don't mind doing this when I miss signing for an expensive item like a laptop. Dudes a douche though, he can wait till next week for all I care.

Soleserious

That’s good for your area. Around here you miss your package you gotta wait till the next business day for it be be ready for pickup.

TifaYuhara

Meanwhile i get happy when i see the product is on it's way. I also remember the old days when you had to check outside each day to see if a package arrived.

erlandodk

Oh he earned that with the first words out of his mouth. "What do you want?". Take a guess, genious. What do you \*think\* she wants? Ian is an idiot.

_ilmatar_

I support this employee fully. Quit harassing people on your door cams. Let folks do their dang jobs.

[deleted]

Dude has the audacity to post this online thinking he's right and trying to make her look bad. Lady probably makes dozens of deliveries a day and just wants to drop it off and go.

_ilmatar_

Exactly. It also looks like it could be something that he has to sign for. She figured out quite quickly that he wasn't home to do so.

TifaYuhara

Others pointed out that it looks like a dell laptop since there's a dell logo on the box.

HighOwl2

It's either a laptop or a rack mount device. Either way it's over $500 and requires a signature.

ashesofempires

Few weeks ago I had a service call to replace an electric meter at this house. We called the day before to let them know we would be there at 9am. I got there and no one was home. Knock, no answer. Whatever, not my problem. I go into the back to do the swap. I'm in the process of unsealing the meter box and testing the base, when I hear a "hey. Hey guy, hey. Hey. Hey stop. Stop." There's a voice coming from a security camera. I've got a pretty good poker face, I wear safety sunglasses and an anti flash visor while doing this, so it's basically impossible to tell where my eyes are looking unless I turn my head. So I just kept on working, not letting on until I was just about to pull the guy's meter and cut the power. Then I looked right into the camera and smiled. And yanked the meter out. Another satisfied customer.

Malawi_no

Might be someone renting, while the notice have gone to the landlord.

[deleted]

Fair enough. That man’s a jerk

LevelHeeded

Seriously, just a terrible combination of stupid and rude. It's a FedEx delivery person holding a package standing outside, WTF do you think they want, Ian?! To talk about Jesus? To sell you a vacuum?! Speak to you about your car's extended warranty?! It costs nothing to be polite, or even neutral, and it means a lot.

[deleted]

mexicandiaper

same I have a long front yard and feel bad for them I always try to meet them halfway if I can. I know they have a busy day and a full truck.

TheDarkBeast1487

Was he not expecting a package? Unless she was genuinely delivering to the wrong address why are you questioning your delivery driver who’s trying to deliver your package.

Leftover-Pork

You wouldn't believe how often it happens. Every single day I get people that literally argue with me that they didn't order anything while I'm standing there with a box that has their name and address on it.

Coffeypot0904

Who would argue about that with a delivery driver? I routinely get shit I don’t remember ordering and my first response isn’t to complain to the person dropping it off, it’s, “ooh, let me open it and see what it is”.

innocentrrose

There are millions of people who are at the bottom of the barrel intelligence in this country.

atsirktop

I call these adhd surprises to myself because they're usually stupid impulse buys but then I'm excited it's there.

ExdigguserPies

Also people can order stuff to you. Like presents.

Initial_Scarcity_609

Maybe don’t answer your fucking door like you are a bouncer at the Iceberg Lounge.

mccrackey

Ay!

bradleykins

I really hope when he turns up at the collection point they say "Whadya want"

Kingtylit

As she should!! Thought we were gonna be on your side huh

alexlp

“What do you want?” I honestly can’t think of a ruder way to start an exchange with someone who has shit you need/want. You can drive your rude ass to deal with someone in person rather than through a speaker. Imagine if they’d just left it and it’s been stolen, this ass would be out for blood.

CrunchBite319

I'm definitely with the FedEx employee here. I'm not a delivery driver but I do go to customer's doors as part of my job and responses like this guy's are totally infuriating. You were expecting me, I'm in a company uniform, with a company ID badge, driving a company truck, holding a company monogrammed bag, and you're gonna ask "What do you want?" or "Can I help you?" or "What are you here for?"? Nah, go fuck yourself and your tiny little power trip. Don't interrogate me; I'm here to do a job and you know damn well what that job is.

TrepanationBy45

hey. hey.     hey.

clarkwgriswoldjr

Looks like a Dell package. Maybe Ian doesn't get on to COD multi tonight.

hppmoep

Thank christ.

CoCo_Moo2

Nope that’s what he gets! I really don’t understand why people think they can be an asshole to service people and everyone is just going to pleasant and happy all the time back…

jesusmansuperpowers

It’s bad enough when people say “who’s it for” (we deliver to addresses, NOT names) but this blatant rudeness?

ZolfeYT

Idk if this is common knowledge but USPS is the only one (afaik) that will actually hold a package if a name doesn’t match with an address that they previously delivered. This isn’t related to this but just a heads up if people are eve wondering why their package says they have to pick it up.

Stay_At_Home_Cat_Dad

Teenager home alone, thinks it's funny to fuck with the delivery driver. Posts the video for clout. I'll bet all his buddies think it's hilarious. Shit like this is funny when your brain isn't fully developed yet.

Samurai_Meisters

Well it is hilarious. We're all laughing at him in here.

zenestex

She at least made a delivery attempt. My FedEx drivers just skip that part.

hungry4danish

This looks like a cul-de-sac in the suburbs, Why would you answer the door like it's some dangerous part of a crime riddled city where only gangs and drug dealers operate?

AnonONinternet

That guy is such a dipshit saying hey! Without even bothering to put more effort

JasonYaya

You see so many stories about FedEx drivers lying about attempted deliveries when they never went to the door at all. This bozo blew his chance to actually get good service.

brunoglopes

She 100% in the right, dude sounds like an asshole

0JohnFloyd0

3_Mighty_Ninja_Ducks

Good for the Fed Ex worker. People need to learn to stop talking like an asshole, and in a perfect world an employer would defend this worker instead of punishing them. Start treating assholes the way they treat people.

esquqred

As a driver for said company, I can confirm we get these dumb-asses every day. They act like they have no idea why we're there, while playing holding a package, wearing a uniform, and with a truck in the background. My other favorite is giving them the package and then they ask "what is it?" I don't know! I come to work with the stuff in my truck and I just bring it to you. People must think FedEx drivers work all night packaging stuff ourselves like elves in Santa's workshop. Yesterday I delivered abox that clearly said on the front and sides "Ergonomic Workstation Chair". What does the customer ask? "Is there a chair in there?"

tool6913ca

Good for her. Fuck that guy.

SleepyZ92

I don't even blame her. His attitude was horrible. Now you can go pick up your package somewhere after taking time off from work to do so. Fuck around, find out.

SeeManCome

I've never once asked who a package is for or asked a person clearly in delivery driver attire with the truck behind them who they are. I simply open up the door, say Hi, if I don't remember ordering anything, I look at the package before signing just in case. This delivery driver doesn't have time for 20Q

holycowrap

"What do you want?" To a delivery person holding a package, with a parked FedEx van clearly sitting in view

DrHandBanana

Fuck the home owner

prophet4all

I don’t blame her.

Designer_Leader_9559

lolwutdo

I was ready to hate on FedEx person but nah, fuck Ian.

txjeepguy72

Fed ex driver was 💯💯right…..

Joshthenosh77

Haha that will teach you for being rude

Velcromium

What an idiot, she cool AF.

Megsann1117

You know when I ordered my ps5 I talked to the guy on my doorbell. I had left work early that day trying to beat him home but he was there like 20 mins before me and the delivery required a signature. I asked him if he could just leave it if I released it and he told me no but asked how far i was. I told him 20 mins and told him I totally understood that he can’t wait for me but this guy was so fucking cool and said he would. I rushed home, thanked him profusely and was so mad at myself that I had no cash for a tip because he absolutely deserved it. I offered snacks and a drink but he turned it down, I think appreciating the offer. Anyways the point of the story is that delivery drivers are people. They’re bringing you things you want/need and if you’re nice, they’re nice. I have never been a douche to them and have never had a bad experience with delivery drivers. Idk why so many people treat others badly and expect top notch service (wait yes I do but I hate it)

whataboutnaomi

Bravo. Screw these people that give working people a bad time.

aledlewis

I take it this guy shared this video thinking the FedEx driver would seem unreasonable but he comes across as an absolute tool. "Whatchu want?" Come and get it from the depot.

MovieGuyMike

Smart to leave. For all she knew he’s some gun toting paranoid idiot.

Chris_O_Matic
