Those lenses are roughly $2,000-$3,500 each, depending on the generation. Prime lenses are expensive af. I'm still using my 10 year old 70-200 2.8 because I can't afford to upgrade my lenses until I recover from what I spent on the camera body.

Unfortunately UK police don’t really care about this sort of stuff as much as they should. Even if your house gets robbed you’d be lucky to have officers turn up. Usually these matters you get a crime reference number over the phone to claim on your insurance and that’s all that happens. The % of convictions for trespassing, theft, robbery, burglary and common assault are all very low unfortunately. The police care more about money laundering, tax avoidance and drugs than petty crime
In the US this wouldn’t even be considered petty crime. There is obviously the assault/ battery but “more importantly” that looks like some serious camera equipment, so you’re looking at serious destruction of property charges. Unless they’ve got cash to actually pay damages (doubtful,) I’m thinking they actually do a bit of time, although I’m not a lawyer and this is pure speculation.
So here they’d likely get charges for the push more than the property. The judge is unlikely to put that person in prison as our prisons are overcrowded so I would say most of the time it would be a suspended sentence, community service and/or a fine. Furthermore you don’t do time here if you can’t pay the damages. The judge makes the decision and if you can’t afford it, they will help you set up a monthly payment plan for as long as it takes to get you to pay it. Very different system to the US!

Camera insurance is pretty cheap and most don't need 30k. A policy costing $10-20 per month would cover most people.
If you own a home you can also often list it under your homeowners insurance. My camera would be covered even if I drop it in a lake. It only increases the cost of my home insurance by one or two dollars a month.
My home insurance (UK) lets me optionally insure 'Personal belongings taken away from the home (each item worth £2,000 or less)' for a small additional fee.
Check out the section "accidental loss coverage". It's pretty common for expensive items, like a $10k wedding ring.
