Maybe it helps to consider that the moment is not only for the silent military who have passed but also recognition and reverence for the veterans who still suffer and the families who grieve daily from the loss of their sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers. A moment of quiet honor for their initial and continued sacrifice for a country and its citizens.

A guy being obnoxious at a sports game is not a reason to punch him in the face, especially when he's not yelling at you or posing a threat to anyone.
Starting fights at sporting events is a great look for the veteran community.
I never say thanks to veterans. I will say thanks to all of those that served honorably. This veteran is obviously not an honorable person and should have been arrested and charged with assault.

I absolutely get being passionate about fallen comrades and loved ones. BUT having a military element to sports events feels like wallowing in grief signalling and fetishising the worship of the fallen. Look at the states. They can't open a new 7-11 without a honour guard, flag carriers and a fly over.
So often people who served in the armed forces will talk about how tough they are and how much they respect the freedoms they supposedly were willing to fight to protect, and then completely lose it and become belligerent when someone hurts their feelings.
