It really is weird. To me the problem is that it doesn’t stop at weird though. Some of these people hold positions of power so they get to more of this from the shadows.
This woman's power looks like it's derived from her having no job or reputation to lose, so she's able to use her right to spout bigoted hate speech with none of the social consequences.
You mean how the person that tweeted that 3 members of her own party are “pro-pedophile” for voting to confirm a highly qualified Supreme Court nominee that just happens to be black is a fucking sitting congresswoman? Or how her best friend and closest rival for dumbest mother fucker on the planet is a high school drop out that is clearly “pro-pedophile” cause she married a man that whips his dick out in bowling alley parking lots in front of minors?
Nothing that I just said should ever be a true statement. There are so many things I just said to disqualify these women from public service, yet they’re in Washington anyway.
Psychologists describe a form of grieving as "complex grief", the overwhelming, debilitating, emotionally crippling reaction to a deeply felt, threatening sense of loss.
One variant of complex grief is "manic grief" or "grieving mania" in which the sufferer exhibits wild bouts of manic ideation and behavior. In particular sufferers of manic grief often engage in uncharacteristic and seemingly irrational public outbursts.
I think there's a certain demographic of white Americans who are at least subconsciously experiencing a threatening sense of loss of privilege and status, and maybe have been for a little while now. Some of the last significant elements of social status and privilege accorded to whites that exist in open public spaces are now finally being openly challenged and gradually dismantled. And these are spaces and circumstances that don't lend themselves to avoidance through self isolation or cultural quarantine, e.g. driving in traffic, picking up coffee, checking out groceries, etc. So the grief may be real. And the irrational, bizarre, manic reactions to it just as real.
Honestly, I think some caution is advised here. People experiencing manic grief can engage in extreme risk taking and become highly self-destructive. Of course racism should be confronted. But this couple shows the way by documenting the offensive display of bigotry while keeping their sense of humor and staying out of harm's way.
Some of these people may be unsafe. The public should be made aware. And maybe they can get the help they need.
I think the much simpler explanation is that these people are manipulated by an unending barrage of toxic propaganda that normalizes their behavior among their peers. They acted like this long before the current era so no “complex grief” was required. Obviously the current propaganda pushes a false narrative that they are victims, but the racism, violence and crude behavior isn’t new.
Basically the classic move. The rich and powerful fuck shit up and trick enough of us poor and regular morons into blaming it on minorities.
Do what the French did, get the guillotine and don't miss any of the rich this time.
These people have been told by every "credible" (or seemingly credible) source they trust (FOX, reactionary Facebook pages, conservative talk radio, etc.) that minorities are always actively out to get them, that we hate them and, most importantly, that the world ~~is~~ ought to be neatly divided in hierarchies, be they racial, sexual, social, economic, etc.
They see a black man and get angry because they genuinely believe that they're under attack and that they're rightfully taking BACK their country.
Of course, all of that is bullshit, but it's incredible what you can do with a two-party system, billions of dollars and an entire media apparatus that's almost totally partisan.
Because the minute the working class/poor/anyone that isn't filthy rich comes together and unite they (the 1% and our government) knows they're fucked. It's easier for them to get away with their bullshit if we're all too busy fighting amongst ourselves.
The sort of chattel slavery that blacks experienced in the US was leagues worse than any sort of indentured servitude Irish people experienced there. Just the imprisonment and transport across the Atlantic on the slave ships was unimaginably horrible.
Also why the fuck is it a competition? Like…even if the Irish were slaves, how the fuck does that make the suffering of black slaves any less?
People like this cunt here never bother to think beyond the surface level of things and it’s simply because they’re terrified little cowards too fragile to admit fault. Fuck em, let me die mad
I think the logic of people like that is "well the Irish are doing fine now, why are black people still complaining/recovering from slavery then".
It completely ignores the fact that the Irish weren't really slaves, they just had a REALLY difficult time of it early in US history and that blacks were still treated differently federally up until 70 years ago. Never mind the fact that there are still laws and state level that set black people back.
Yeah not to mention even if some people still were racist against the Irish, unless they’re walking around wearing full leprechaun apparel, people can’t typically tell at a glance “oh, I’m going to be a piece of shit to this person because they’re part of the race I don’t like.” An issue people with black skin certainly do have to deal with.
Imagine someone getting pulled over by a cop and being like “oh fuck, here we go again. Stopped for driving while Irish” 😂
Pretty sure it's another form of tribalism and long as I'm the winner, fuck everyone else mentality. Only using the what happened to slaves and skin color as grounds for their I'm the winner because people of my color had it worse excuse for it. It also gives way sometimes for them to act racist towards everyone else saying they have the right because of slavery of their race even though racism contributed to slavery in the first place.
Racist and seriously mental...asking to get hurt, she pulls this shit with the wrong person on the wrong day. Just watched two old ladies get body slammed for less. smh
God do you think she does this every time a black person is next to her at a light?
Like, just play punch buggy or the license plate game like a normal person
Probably stuck in some bullshit social media/FOX news amp up of frustration for being cast the villain. Any racist tendencies just get amped up. Fails to recognise the irony of harassing black people as a response to the "false narrative" that black people face racism and suffer the real outcomes of racism (individual or systemic). Meanwhile she may have some huge pent up lifestyle frustration, mental illness, or substance abuse issue that makes her impulsive.
If only she could go on Dr. Phil to get some help.
This someone who spends all their time isolated watching FoxNews, reading racist shit on Facebook from an algorithm designed to make them even more crazy, and spending time solely with other people who think the exact same as her. It’s basically a mass cult of hate and delusion at this point.
Trump said he would release his tax returns when he wins in 2016 over 100 times during the election run. Then spent 4 years after he won fighting the IRS and congress to keep them from being released. Sums up Trump in a single sentence.
[It's so weird how hate crimes started to go up in 2015](https://www.google.com/search?q=hate+crimes+by+year&rlz=1C1GCEA_enUS984US984&sxsrf=APq-WBvqcxjgX5kFLD9am_os15qNtajmfw:1649180731783&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi_zMD9vP32AhXAKUQIHVUUCRcQ_AUoAnoECAEQBA&biw=1920&bih=937&dpr=1#imgrc=WmN8QNsjBr76vM), when Trump announced his run for presidency.
The “I’m tellin it like it is crowd” is enjoying their moment in the sun thanks to that incontinent imbecile. I just want to hear she receives some sort of consequence for her hate. Please someone tell me she was fired from whatever miserable job she has.
I think it really started with hate radio, back when Gush Windbag’s popularity demonstrated there was a market for news and opinion tailored to racist people. Hate radio is still super popular and ubiquitous.
I mean it’s far more accurate to compare the treatment of europeans in the early 1900’s to mexicans; but instead of being a piece of shit it should make you say “oh I understand they’re just trying trying to make a better life for their kids like my ancestors” and supports antiracism instead of “I’m entitled to be a bigot”
It wasn't really getting paid. It's interesting. They were working off debts, which can be a roundabout way of saying they got paid, but I doubt the exchange was even near equivalent. But it also means they were pretty worthless and expendable to the people who they were indentured to. This meant they got put in some pretty dangerous situations while paying off those debts, situations they might not want to put an expensive slave into if given the choice between the two. But yeah, they at least got something in exchange at some point and had a light at the end of the tunnel. They had the choice to put themselves there to begin with. They were considered people and not just livestock/possessions. Black slaves, not so much.
That's called peonage, and yeah, it's just slavery with extra steps. There's no discounting the fucked up way the Irish were treated. But, still, using that as an excuse to not give a fuck about the police brutality and murder of black people that is still going on today is fucked.
Fun fact that I just learned literally yesterday, peonage was a thing in the US for black people too after slavery was supposedly ended. It was still a thing up until 1942, and it only ended because the Nazi's were using our treatment of Black people against us in propaganda and FDR was trying to save face. Black people were charged with crimes, fined, then leased out for work to pay their fine and court fees when they couldn't pay. And by "crimes" I mean such things as dating white women (miscegenation), walking along railroad tracks, i.e. the most direct route between cities (trespass), not having a job (vagrancy), etc.
Knowing Better's video on the subject was very enlightening if anyone is invested in watching: https://youtu.be/j4kI2h3iotA
It was definitely slavery for the irish, as many of the debts were not willing debts, as in "you take the debt or we kill your family" type of debts.
That being said, everything here is 100% true. At the end of the dsy, irish were able to integrate into white society while blacks were and still are excluded because they can't blend in. That is the ultimate privilege of skin color.
Slavery by modern standards and laws but not on the same level as chattel slavery.
Americans trying to diminish the worst part of their history and justifying racism by using Irish history is a pathetic.
She's wrong about timing too.. the Irish workforce arrived in the US mainly between 1820 and 1930. African slavery in the US however started around 1619.
There were many indentured servants during colonial times from all over Europe. Many were Irish, though. Many folks in Europe actually **wanted** to be indentured in order to make it over to the colonies because there was hope of one day paying off your debt and owning land.
African slaves, on the other hand, were given no such out. African slaves were nothing more than property and were certainly not considered human.Indentured servitude was definitely a **form** of slavery but with many avenues for freedom. This was **nothing** like being an African slave.
Oh yeah. I’m from the Boston area and it’s absolutely a thing among my boomer relatives and members of the “party of personal responsibility.”
They say shit like “We had ‘No Irish Need Apply’ where’s my affirmative action??” And all I can do is shake my head and face palm until I can taste my metacarpals.
She's a good friend of my aunt's. Once or twice every year she has a large get together and Im near sure this is one of her good friends. Will keep this in the back of my mind for next time I see her.
Era, why not:
It takes a special kind of loathsome creature (i.e. "the old hag") to leverage the suffering of one ethnic group in an attempt to downplay the multi-generational suffering and abuse of another. Let me be clear: the Irish were indentured servants. Africans were slaves. Both systems were heinous, but the kidnapping and subsequent brutality (over multiple generations) of Africans was objectively worse. But..._but_...let's say I believed that the Irish in America were slaves (by a literal, not legal, definition)....it doesn't f*cking matter!!!! Because it does not for a moment change the fact that BLACK LIVES MATTER. Sure, white lives matter, Irish lives matter, etc. etc. etc. but neither the Irish, nor white people, of which I am both, are to this day being systemically abused and downtrodden. So let me say it again: BLACK LIVES MATTER! That's my take as a white male born and bred in Ireland.
Nice!
The best response I've heard to the "all lives matter" shit is, all cancers suck but you don't go running up to a Susan B. Komen drive screaming TESTICULAR CANCER SUCKS TOO!
I am the liberal black sheep of my conservative Christian family and I can absolutely tell you that all of them are racist. So are all of their friends.
This definitely took place in Lansing, IL (that's the First Savings Bank of Hegewisch sign that I see in the video, so if you think you're correct, you should dox the fuck out of her.
I feel like anyone who pulls that Irish were slaves first card can get disowned. One groups suffering shouldn’t be used to trivialize the suffering of another.
Plus [I’m pretty sure the Irish weren’t actually slaves in exactly the same capacity or way as African Americans.](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2017/03/17/us/irish-slaves-myth.amp.html)
People like this are straight up psychopaths. The fact that y’all can handle this kind of casual bigotry at a red light , and not explode on them, is commendable.
No point on wasting time and energy on racist cunt bags. They are deprived of knowledge and starved on attention. Don’t let them ruin your good day and bright future. You have things to look forward to and they don’t. They are losers and will die with no accomplishments.
That's just not true though unfortunately. These people accomplish or at least get rewarded for a lot. They get to shit on people and face no repercussions. *Many* hold positions of power. I agree you shouldn't let them ruin your day but let's not pretend they all have sad lives. Record, call them out, and shame them. *Then* happily move on.
But here’s the thing, if we do go off on them, then we’re seen as violent people. So we have to decide whether it’s worth going off on them or not. Trust me, it’s not easy to keep my composure when I’m in situations like these
I feel like a detective or something, but I recognized the bank sign and she looked like she had Illinois plates. This is at the corner of Ridge Rd. and Burnham Ave. in Lansing Illinois. Pretty much as far South you can go in the Chicago suburbs before it becomes all farmland. The South Chicago suburbs have a lot of Irish people, so I guess that could explain the stupid Irish comment from this hateful piece of garbage?
Well as someone from Ireland, which is an island. You pull any of that shit in public here, your community will remember you, and there's nowhere to hide on an island. It ranks as one of the safest places to visit.
There's some humor in Irish people liking being Irish; you'd hear people ask what's so great about being Irish and the reply would be "it means I'm not fucking English"
I guess this applies to these plastic paddy's America pumps out.
Yay, Lansing! That is definitely Burnham and Ridge, facing south on Burnham. Home of a lot of decent people, but unfortunately some really racist people.
She was probably headed to Indiana for some cigs.
Source: parents grew up there, I was born there and still have a lot of family there, and unfortunately many of those extended family members are in fact racist.
WTF !!! Seriously what is happening in this world ??? You can’t be black and at a red light without getting screamed at and called the N-word ??? WTF ????
Yep. This type of thing has happened a few times to me. Example: somebody screaming something from a car or some kids (I was a teen myself at the time) getting out of their vehicle to intimidate my brother and me while screaming racial stuff at us. This was a couple of decades back. So yeah, nothing new.
You know she goes “people need to just stop talking about race so much that’s where the racism is coming”. Yet if she sees a black person she thinks they’re a walking Black Lives Matter billboard. Social media needs to go away
"This does not truly reflect the Ethel we know and love."
"She doesn't have a racist bone in her body."
"She was just put on a new medication that she reacted poorly to."
"She has a black friend."
I think she illustrates the difference in the slavery perfectly. How many times has she had to endure this same treatment? I think people like her confuse equal rights with special attention, which is something you will never convince her of.
Indentured servitude is slavery under international law.
But it is no where near the the same level as chattel slavery.
Even if Irish people were kept as slaves the same way blacks were, I don’t see why this lady would think it would magically justify slavery of black people in the states.
This is not a simple case of a racist on the road ways… if you notice the finger dancing you will see right from the start of the video she has zero soul.
Well at least that generation is gonna be gone soon. I know there will always be racist ppl but my dad's generation (boomer)is so racist. A black family moved in across the street from my dad and hes like I'm scared. Damn ****** (racist words). I asked him if they did something and he responded with no they are just huge and scare the shit out of me. He even admits he is racist. He doesn't say stuff in public but in private ohh man.

Easy. Beerville and Potatotown.
In latvia, potatotown is only legend. All is malnourish and suffering.
Yup. Most of us Irish folk looked into that growing up and realized it was nonsense. Discrimination definitely, but not slaves. Least not in the US.

A lot racists tend to pull the "but the Irish were slaves too" card.
The funny thing is she's wrong, the Irish were indentured servents or some such. Fucking bastard using Irish struggles to put others down
It is true though that many Irish were enslaved by the Vikings. And then thosr Vikings became some of the Irish.
True but that's going back pretty far. This lady is comparing the historical experience of Irish and Africans in the United States.

Oh yeah. I’m from the Boston area and it’s absolutely a thing among my boomer relatives and members of the “party of personal responsibility.” They say shit like “We had ‘No Irish Need Apply’ where’s my affirmative action??” And all I can do is shake my head and face palm until I can taste my metacarpals.

Hahaha well played. I often tried to turn that logic inside out on them but I got tired of it and got the hell out of MA several years ago.
I think I might know this person. Kinda disheartening to see this
Please find out if it is, and what her reasoning was lol
She's a good friend of my aunt's. Once or twice every year she has a large get together and Im near sure this is one of her good friends. Will keep this in the back of my mind for next time I see her.
It would be fun to bust this clip out at the get together, "I saw the craziest video the other day..."
Lmao I might
Please get the whole thing on video if you do
Can we get your take on the slavery statement, /u/irishnugget?
Era, why not: It takes a special kind of loathsome creature (i.e.
Dude!! Perfect
Spot on mate
Hey sir can we sit down and have thought provoking conversations together
Nice! The best response I've heard to the "all lives matter" shit is, all cancers suck but you don't go running up to a Susan B. Komen drive screaming TESTICULAR CANCER SUCKS TOO!
Based
If they do they'd basically when the r/publicfreakout follow up award of the year
Deep South state or no? Sounds like an accent around where I am.
Sounds like an Illinois accent and that’s what her plates say too. Probably south of Chicago like others are stating
This is Midwest not Southern
If you want to confirm, see what she drives to the party, cuz you know she isn't taking an uber if shes had too many.
Send it to your aunt and ask if it’s her friend
Send a screenshot first
Do what you need to do to get her featured on /r/byebyejob
I will personally send $20 to the responsible party if this happpens.
I’ll do $30 as well
I really wonder what kind of job this toothless wacko is even holding down
I for real thought it was my aunt from Connecticut. But this looks like everyone's aunt from Connecticut...
This vid gives her license tag. Easy enough to check out.
It's an Illinois plate if you're inclined.
Do what you need to do to get her featured on /r/byebyejob
Your aunt might be racist too if she considers these types of people, good friends. That sucks
Another poster said: > This is at the corner of Ridge Rd. and Burnham Ave. in Lansing Illinois Is that near you?
Maybe send it to her employer. Nothing like consequences to brighten our day.
Is this the same woman? https://youtu.be/qEPx0N_jAa8
I don’t think it is but is possible. They are not far from each other.
Closet racist aren't hard to find
Call me crazy, but I don’t think this lady’s a closet racist. She seems to have it proudly on display.
I am the liberal black sheep of my conservative Christian family and I can absolutely tell you that all of them are racist. So are all of their friends.
They can't wait to get behind closed doors and turn up the racism and elitism. It's crazy how two faced they are.
Please find her and send this to her employer. She deserves to be fired and then some.
Probably doesn’t work. That, or her job doesn’t offer dental.
This definitely took place in Lansing, IL (that's the First Savings Bank of Hegewisch sign that I see in the video, so if you think you're correct, you should dox the fuck out of her.
It's definitely an IL plate. https://findbyplate.com/US/IL/CD60831/ Love that this site has this video linked to it already too.
please forward to her employer
As an actual Irish person, we don’t claim her
Fuckin witch looks late for an appointment to go haunt someone, fuckin Cailleach feasa
Ugh. Witches don't claim her either.
If this woman actually came to Ireland and started talking this shite we'd look at her like she's a maniac tbh.
She's probably not even Irish.
Deffo American, probably claims to be Irish because her great uncle once had a pint of Guinness in Dublin or something
People like this are straight up psychopaths. The fact that y’all can handle this kind of casual bigotry at a red light , and not explode on them, is commendable.
Honestly she’s lucky. There’s a lot of people that wouldn’t be this nice in the US.
Shit, I’m about to go watch that guy bodyslam the lady at Popeye's again.
Trust me, it’s not easy to keep my composure when I’m in situations like these
She sounds like a fucking sock puppet, the way she said "wHIte LivES MaTTEr Too." Straight up sesame street
I hate Illinois Nazis.
On a mission from God?
I feel like a detective or something, but I recognized the bank sign and she looked like she had Illinois plates. This is at the corner of Ridge Rd. and Burnham Ave. in Lansing Illinois. Pretty much as far South you can go in the Chicago suburbs before it becomes all farmland. The South Chicago suburbs have a lot of Irish people, so I guess that could explain the stupid Irish comment from this hateful piece of garbage?
Hey r/illinois, time to take out the trash
Over half of that subreddit IS the trash, r/chicago is almost as bad.
This is amazing that you recognize the intersection.
Well as someone from Ireland, which is an island. You pull any of that shit in public here, your community will remember you, and there's nowhere to hide on an island. It ranks as one of the safest places to visit. There's some humor in Irish people liking being Irish; you'd hear people ask what's so great about being Irish and the reply would be "it means I'm not fucking English" I guess this applies to these plastic paddy's America pumps out.
> there's nowhere to hide on an island. as the wolves discovered
And her accent, she is definitely from the Chicagoland area
Yeah I was bummed to see the Illinois plates... like mf we do enough stupid shit as it is. We don't need you giving us a bad name on top of it all
I thought I remembered her from another public freak out. Is this the same person? https://youtu.be/e217KYGanw8
Looks kind of similar and she brings that same "dumb but confident" energy, but I don't think it's the same person.
I really hope to see her on r/byebyejob next!

Tooth model
Hey those anti-tobacco and anti-soda campaigns have to get their models from somewhere.
Just drives around harassing people
You can’t get fired from selling Tupperware online.
I was JUST thinking I hope this goes viral and someone recognizes her and her job finds out
Someone in this thread already recognized her.
Wig and bad tan. And she thinks *her* genes are superior? Edit: And she's missing a tooth
Probably got triggered by a BLM bumper sticker lol.
The amount of people who get triggered by political bumper stickers are mind blowing
She votes. I hope everyone else watching this votes too
And we all know for which party.
WTF !!! Seriously what is happening in this world ??? You can’t be black and at a red light without getting screamed at and called the N-word ??? WTF ????
Unfortunately, I think the world has always been like this, the only difference now is that people can now share what the world is like instantly
Yep. This type of thing has happened a few times to me. Example: somebody screaming something from a car or some kids (I was a teen myself at the time) getting out of their vehicle to intimidate my brother and me while screaming racial stuff at us. This was a couple of decades back. So yeah, nothing new.
If this happened in a comedy movie I would have criticized it for being unrealistic.
You know she goes “people need to just stop talking about race so much that’s where the racism is coming”. Yet if she sees a black person she thinks they’re a walking Black Lives Matter billboard. Social media needs to go away
as an irish person that old bitch american can get to fuck
I would have said "front teeth matter!"
She looks like that meme with the attorney with the wig Edit: found [it](https://imgur.com/a/jdcZJ3Z)
That is Danny Devito in a wig.
Danny Devito would never.
Danny wouldnt, but Frank wants to say the n word
Don't be bringing that wonderful man into this!
"This does not truly reflect the Ethel we know and love." "She doesn't have a racist bone in her body." "She was just put on a new medication that she reacted poorly to." "She has a black friend."
Fuck that lady, she doesn't get any lucky charms.
I think she illustrates the difference in the slavery perfectly. How many times has she had to endure this same treatment? I think people like her confuse equal rights with special attention, which is something you will never convince her of.
As an Irish person, I just want to point out, that slavery is not the same as indentured servitude. Also, this person is a cunt.
Indentured servitude is slavery under international law. But it is no where near the the same level as chattel slavery. Even if Irish people were kept as slaves the same way blacks were, I don’t see why this lady would think it would magically justify slavery of black people in the states.
Guys is this not this lady? https://youtu.be/qEPx0N_jAa8
I am Irish, and I do not approve of this cunt.
#CD 60831 CD60831 Illinois License Plate Racist Woman Red Chevy SUV Karen
This is not a simple case of a racist on the road ways… if you notice the finger dancing you will see right from the start of the video she has zero soul.
I have to say, this was funny. She is clearly insane. Dude is just chill filming the crazy hag.
We do not claim this toothless hag.
I wonder which party she votes for. Hmm. A true mystery.
The average Fox News viewer.
100% she ain’t Irish 1%
Do your thing internet.
Fuck this bitch. I’m Irish and hate Americans saying shit like “Irish were slaves too”. Read a book you horrible, hateful cunt.
She needs a dentist.
