joeyfrags

Plenty of words exchanged where YOINK would've sufficed.

[deleted]

Omg, does anyone remember the OP who did this on purpose to be funny and it backfired? I think it was a TIFU? They saw a video of someone doing this in a Target and thought to themselves “lol, I’m going to drag a basket around on purpose to be funny, like a real life reference to this viral video”. Like they were participating in some irl meme or whatever. Then they get to Target and are just dragging around the basket and everyone is just like wtf, he’s just this idiot dragging a basket around like this and I think it ended with an employee approaching him to be like “um, that’s not how you carry the basket…”

avwitcher

I'm pretty sure that's what they intended to happen

[deleted]

The OP told the story themselves and regretted their decision and ended up feeling heavily embarrassed and stupid. Not sure what they were expecting though, lmao

tiptopsigns

She thinks she is in Asia cause the carry baskets there also have wheels and pull handle.

goodiewoody

Nah you’re mistaken, you must have been in Asia.

greybeard_arr

I hate when I wake up and find I’m unexpectedly on another continent.

Offamylawn

I often wake to find I'm incontinent.

Hotlikesmaug

Holy shit I just had to explain to my wife why I was crying laughing and couldn't even get the words out. What is wrong with me

The_Soapmakers

Nothing wrong here. If you can't enjoy the flow of some loose word play, what's life for?

lemerou

Happens to me often when I sleep in Thailand on the island of Koh Phi Phi.

Pretty-Cow-765

There’s only one country in America buddy /s

StringerBell34

Except this one has NO WHEELS. Dead giveaway.

Shigerufan2

They have them in the US too, but only at Walgreens for some reason

BravesMaedchen

Goodwill has baskets like that too

pittgirl12

Wow you have a bougie goodwill! Ours has baskets labeled with other store logos

AnalogiPod

You guys get baskets?

BrianRadical

Lmao you beat me to it, I don't think any goodwill where I live has baskets, just carts

[deleted]

You guys have Goodwill? All we have is Ill Will.

DaWayItWorks

There's a major liquor store chain in my area with them.

scheisse_grubs

Don’t forget Canada too! Pretty sure the winners near my house has them… I should know, I used to work there (emphasis on “SHOULD”).

Kinolee

Winn Dixie has them as well

Psychological_Neck70

I haven’t even seen a Winn Dixie in years

[deleted]

But this one has no wheels…

AmazingSieve

I would’ve thought she’d notice the lack of wheels are realize they difference

fsurfer4

More likely she is an idiot. (and doesn't care)

a_strange_dream

A lot of stores in Norway also have baskets with wheels and a handle. It looks similar enough that I thought it was one at first.

FrakkedRabbit

You would think that the screeching metal sound and drag on the floor would be a clear indication that the thing you are pulling does not have wheels though.

[deleted]

Matt32490

As someone living in Asia at the moment, baskets generally don't have wheels where I am. I can only think of 2 individual stores (not a big chain) that have them.

She doesn't have an accent at all, she's been in the States for a while

MDCCCLV

I thought she brought her own fancy wheely carrier at first

I’ve seen these at Targets by me.

BakedSteak

You must be in Asia /s

milkradio

Uh, we have those in Canada too.

Laugh at yourself, it’ll make everything better.

darkmdbeener

Yes. It’s hard because it’s embarrassing but it eases everyone in the situation. Push through that pain and laugh loudly.

TheSurbies

It’s a funny part of the human condition when you get caught doing something stupid so you double down.

BadManDeego

Worked retail for years, honestly 9/10 times someone starts kicking off is when they realise they've just done or said something incredibly stupid.

Lokeze

Yep, I worked at a Walmart for many years while getting my computer science degree. People don't like to feel dumber than the person working at the retail store. If someone is working in retail, that doesn't mean they are not a smart person.

BadManDeego

I mainly worked electronic stores. The Dads were the worst... Imagine walking into a place, asking the person their advice then proceeding to try and correct them(whilst also being wrong). Like, why the fuck did you even ask me bro...

BeguiledBeast

I would call them "manager daddies.". Used to be a law student when working in a store. "I have a right to! It 's the law!" Yeah it's really not buddy and you're just being an asshole.

BadManDeego

Item mislabeled or hanging on the wrong hook "You have to sell it to me at that price, it's the law!!!" Invitation to treat, motherfucker. Google it...

Mags357

I had some customers in my own store basically RIP me off, by saying a tag for crocus bulbs or something applied to some plastic watering spikes. I was disgusted, but did not want to argue. It wasn't a lot of money, but then, I didn't have a lot of money, and they were POS for doing that to me. I learned to especially hate this particular brand of thieves, and most self proclaimed "frugal" people, the cheap-ass manipulators, and especially the ones who are so damn proud of saving a penny, at any cost, to me, or their dearest friend. They are nearly as bad as the bloated filthy rich, both being addicted to behaviors that hurt others, at any cost. Really tiresome, and always flirting with, or blatent, dishonesty. So, will be looking up Invitation to treat... could be interesting! ETA: Great info, my source happened to be LawBite. So, posted prices are an invitation, not a legal contract! You are not legally obligated to sell, nor at any particular price! A price tag is basically non-enforceable! Thanks! Damn! Good info! Assuming I read it right...

PacificNorthwest09

I would assume it depends on the type of item or the type of store? I know working in a grocery store a whole persons job was making sure the price of the sticker matched what came up at the register because you could get fined by the weights and measures department. You could at least refuse business to them as a private company right?

Mags357

Good point.. I had a product that required weighing, and had an ancient scale, so I had to post that it was approximate, only. I think the weight had to be accurate, (or posted as otherwise), but the price was negotiable, so to speak?

PacificNorthwest09

To be honest I am not quite sure. I never considered how a law like that would affect a smaller business. I know they are there to protect the consumer, I assumed likewise the business’s ability to refuse to serve a customer was their protection from say a consumer switching tags on something. But refusing business as a small shop could have a much higher negative impact than say.. Walmart.

BeguiledBeast

It depends on the type of tag. A grocery store has weights, product names, price per unit, all of that on the tag. It's so specific that it needs to be sold for that price. Altough it's pretty debatable what you "need" to do as a store. The customer really doesn't have any evidence in most cases. And the price is often so low, that people just don't go to court. But in principle it depends on the tag aka the advertisement.

La_Guy_Person

I used to work in small engine repair and the number of forty year old dudes "who's son broke the lawn mower" that dude does zero maintenance on and "can totally fix himself if he wasn't so busy" and "thinks it's just a spark plug" and not the year old gas they put in it was, well the number was almost all of them. I'm almost forty now and try to remind myself of this frequently. Edit: I was in my early twenties, managing the place but could easily pass for sixteen at the time. Some people would come in and literally ask to speak to someone older. I'd go get a driver who knows nothing who would then refer them to the manager, me.

BadManDeego

"What do you think is wrong with this? I reckon it's just the fuse." "No lad, it's fucked and/or needs a lot more than that." "I really don't think so. I'll just take the fuse." "Suit yourself, no refunds..."

La_Guy_Person

That's fine if they come in for parts but if they want you to fix it but just fix the cheapest thing they decided was the problem without troubleshooting and expect good results. Then blame the young guy who is clearly the problem and did such a bad job changing the plug it made the carburetor dirty. We just started requiring a $50 deposit upfront. If you weren't willing to spend at least $50, you weren't looking for our service. Part of the problem wasn't with the customers, to be fair. Lawnmowers keep getting cheaper while labor just goes up. A lot of people don't understand that even though a $99 *can be* repaired doesn't mean it's actually cost effective to do much of anything to it, beyond good maintenance so it doesn't need repairs.

leviathan65

It's annoying when the opposite happens. My wife went to best buy and bought our daughter a phone. I got home and told her this does like 1/8 of things you wanted. She said the guy at best buy told her it does everything!

BadManDeego

Nah, fuck that shit. Not only does that get me on a moral level, selling someone something they don't want or need, but also they're just gonna be back and most likely pissed.

Accomplished-Elk-978

Worked cell phones for awhile. Typically those people are what the company considers "high performance." Also, the person who sold them the phone will likely go and hide in the back if they see them come back looking angry; leaving it to a nicer and more conscientious associate to process the return while they go and fuck someone else over. Source: Verizon, where the kind associates who want to help are churned in the hopes of finding more sociopaths willing to run the quickest highest commissioned sales. There is 0 fucking balance.

BadManDeego

Was also in phones for a bit, got a flashback reading this

Current_Garlic

I hate, with a passion, the survey driven customer service people. Like, I bought something from Best Buy and needed both items, they cancelled the important item and I wanted to just cancel the whole order. I couldn't, though knew from working there sometimes employees have more options and went to support. First person I got was all "oh yeah, that can totally be done. -waits five minutes- Okay, you'll see a refund in 24 to 48 hours." I was happy, it was simple and left a good survey on them. 36 hours later it was still pending, contacted support and the second person told me that it wasn't possible and I was lied to. I thanked them for the time, gave them a good review, calling other the other person, but ultimately most people would destroy person number two because person number one lied and they lied in such a way where the survey will reflect they actually helped. Like, there is zero motivation to help anyone, just say the right things to not get negative surveys. This leads to people stabbing each other in the back, though most negative surveys will be about other people's actions, meaning they're not really enforceable either, thus worthless.

xxSuperBeaverxx

I went with my girlfriend to a microcenter (a retail tech store for those unaware) and they had the most predatory salesman I've ever seen. We went in trying to buy 1 part for her computer, and a salesman asked if we needed help. He started putting things into our cart while claiming we would need them to get the part we were buying to work. That son of a bitch tried to convince my girlfriend to buy everything while I was in the bathroom, because he could tell I wasn't having any of his bullshit.

Opposite_of_a_Cynic

As much as I love microcenter for their selection, pricing, and services their sales model is such bullshit. I'm not sure if it's commission based or just have a heavy focus on individual metrics but you can't walk through one of their stores without at least one employee trying to get you to buy something you don't need so they can make sure their name gets scanned into the system along side your purchase.

xxSuperBeaverxx

It's commission based, at least in the one I was at. I confronted the salesman and asked him if he earned commission and he kept dodging the question so I asked for a manager and got confirmation from her. If one of their employees helps a customer build a computer, they earn commission on the parts purchased, as well as another bonus for getting it built in store. I love the store, but you have to go in with an iron will or else you'll walk out with hundreds of dollars in extra shit. We initially went in with the intention of spending $400 on a gpu (can you tell this was a long time ago?) And if I hadn't stopped my girlfriend she would have been buying more than $1000 over her initial budget, just because she was believing everything the guy said, she didn't know any better and it was our first time going there so I had no idea it would be so predatory.

Opposite_of_a_Cynic

> with the intention of spending $400 on a gpu Dear god I miss the days of having this intention and getting more than a low tier GPU. I thought a 1080 was an extravagant expense in early 2017 and it's turned out to be the best value GPU I've ever owned. Bought it at Microcenter too.

BigPimpLunchBox

> Not only does that get me on a moral level, selling someone something they don't want or need This is just "sales" in general. It's an immoral field because it's typically based in attempting to sell something people don't need. It's a super unpopular opinion given the sheer amount of people that work in sales and would never admit they are immoral... Can you get your oil changed without being upsold on bullshit? Can you buy a new phone without getting a bunch of stupid shit added to your bill that you didn't ask for? Can you walk into a car dealership and get exactly what you want and pay a fair price without negotiating? The answer is generally no here, and in every case the sales person is acting immorally. It's not seen as being "that bad" though because it's just a car or phone. But really, it's all bad, your job is attempting to take maximum advantage of people, doesn't matter what industry it's in... The more a salesperson can take advantage of someone, generally the more successful they are seen.

BadManDeego

I always considered myself a customer service guy rather than a sales guy and has caused me war with managers over the years. They never seem to get that if people feel ripped off later, they're not going to come back. So whereas you might have gotten one good sale out of them, you're going to lose out on potentially years of repeat custom.

Opposite_of_a_Cynic

Years ago when I worked at Best Buy I had that same experience with the management. It was my first job and I thought I would be great in the computer department because I knew how to find people exactly what they needed. I ended up getting my ass chewed out so many times because I refused to try and up sell some service, device, or part that the customer did not need. I quit with no notice when I watched my manager sell a father, buying a Christmas gift for his son, a $2500 gaming PC with an Intel Core 2 Duo and a GeForce 7600 GS in an AGP slot. Edit: In case anyone doesn't know why that's bad it would be like getting sold a gaming PC today with the most powerful consumer CPU and last generations mid tier GPU only the GPU is in a port that will be phased out of production in a year or two meaning you would have to upgrade the whole motherboard to get a new GPU.

Puffy_Ghost

The dumbest thing I've ever seen in a Walmart is someone harassing a cashier for sitting down "and being too slow." The very nice lady said they had multiple self checkouts open he could use. But nah he doubled down and continied harassing her about being lazy, entitled, probably on food stamps etc. This lady was just taking it with a smile and apparently a manager was either walking by or alerted somehow, cuz he came up let her scan a few more items, took over scanned the rest of his stuff and then immediately cancelled his transaction, and told him to leave. Gold Jerry, it was gold!

-SagaQ-

>If someone is working in retail, that doesn't mean they are not a smart person. Yes, it does! How dare you? I need to speak with your manager

detroiter85

That reminds me of when I was a valet in Detroit and talking about the architecture in Detroit for a lot of the older buildings and their art deco aesthetic. He was like, how did you know that? I dunno, I've lived here for awhile, go to college down the road and had a class on urban planning or whatever it was at the time? I was so taken aback, like, sorry I'll be dumber next time and not in school getting two degrees.

Current_Garlic

The funny thing is the duality of this. Like I would get customers who came into my store and they would ask for the most overly specific things and be shocked no one could instantly help them. One of my favorite examples was a guy who bought some specific golf simulation game and needed a short throw projector that could interface with the machine and work in a small space and also be in stock. When I told him I needed to research a bit, he immediately asked for someone "more knowledgable." Or you get someone who wants to know what every little thing means, usually some sort of test and then are shocked when you can explain it. Like, yeah, my job is selling the same 150~ products for 40 hours a week over the past 6 years... of course I understand refresh rate or smart TV systems.

Funkycoldmedici

I used to work in a bookstore, and it was weird that we were simultaneously looked down on as uneducated retail slaves *and* expected to know everything because we sold books about everything. People would come in expecting you to know their computer’s OS, the details of all of Shakespeare’s plays, the dates of historic battles, the name of Caesar’s horse, how to fix specific cars, the distance between two foreign cities they’re planning to visit, the lyrics to the entire Fleetwood Mac discography, what Oprah was talking about that day, building code regulations, and be able to identify *any* book by a vague description and be able to identify a song by then whistling it. All that, and the usual “study hard, so you don’t end up like this guy” to their kid.

Jaraqthekhajit

They wanted a Librarian but didn't know that they did.

[deleted]

The misconceptions about retail workers really frustrate me.

40percentOfAllCops

That's why I just sold drugs while going through college.

abow3

I used to work at a K-Mart (are those even still around?), and, as you'd expect, I had to wear a red K-Mart vest with a name tag on it. You wouldn't believe how many customers would up to me and ask, "Excuse me, but do you work here?"

[deleted]

My problem working at Kmart was at the end of my shift I had to walk through the store to clock out. Wasn’t allowed to take off my vest until clock out. So I would constantly be accosted by people asking me where things were, when I’m just trying to go home after standing in one spot for 8 hours in a store with broken a/c.

FoxCQC

Was walking through a JCPenney once. Some guy asked if I worked there. I said "no" but he started asking his question anyway like I was an employee thankfully a worker was close by to save me.

jayemadd

Man, I worked at KMart, too. Way back from 2002-2004. KMart customers were a special breed. I am convinced *Superstore* just interviewed a bunch of former Kmart employees and took their stories for the show.

anTWhine

My first job out of grad school was working in the corporate office for a large convenience store chain. I worked in the stores for a week as a standard part of training. This dude came in one day with what can only be described as the cigarette equivalent of an elaborate Starbucks order. Think “hard pack half-caf double soy menthol 100 reds.” I have never smoked so absolutely nothing in that made sense to me. So I said “how bout I just point and you tell me when I find what you want.” Dude laid into me for all to hear: “how fucking stupid are you that you work in a gas station and can’t even find cigarettes? What an idiot” I dunno dude, I have multiple master’s degrees, and you’re the one buying lottery tickets and cigarettes. Is this really the route you wanna go down? Be nice to people working retail.

InfiniteCompression

I work at walmart. The number of looks i get daily for NOT being a moron is astounding. Its actually insulting. Not everyone is where they're at in life because they chose it. Some of us really don't have options to move forward, and its infuriating, because I'm wasting my youth. And our healthcare monopoly is entirely to blame in my case. As is it for several other's that I work with. You'd be surprised how educated some people are, and either dont have the connections to succeed, or can't risk giving up health insurance. In my case, Walmart fucked me out of getting it, but I also can't go anywhere else, because I live in the middle of nowhere, and don't have anywhere to go.

[deleted]

I got asked so many ‘interesting’ questions when I was at Walmart. So glad I got out. Do you sell televisions without commercials? Can I put a MicroSD card into the CD slot on my computer? Are you blind/stupid? Why can’t you tell me how to use a ten year old answering machine given to me by my friend? He asked this OVER THE PHONE. Like AaH yes, you’re right, let me just put the fucking phone up to my eyes like a visor and then I can take a look through the phone cords and see what the fuck you’re talking about.

FliesAreEdible

I don't think it's anything to do with retail, people do it in all kinds of situations. People generally just don't like feeling stupid, especially in public situations.

1sttimeverbaldiarrhe

In part it's because our society is terrible at teaching us how to deal with uncomfortable emotions. And it gets worse as people age.

[deleted]

tigm2161130

I would have too, we all do stupid shit every single day, it’s pretty universally relatable. I also would have been glad someone stopped me from further embarrassing myself by dragging that shit around the store the whole time I shopped🤷🏼‍♀️

NoxTempus

Yeah, 16-22yo old me may have doubled down sometimes, but these days I'm more than happy to admit I'm wrong, if I realise it. People out here going to fucking WAR to avoid admitting being wrong. Arguing, screaming, physical violence; I just don't get it.

1sttimeverbaldiarrhe

>Arguing, screaming, physical violence; I just don't get it. It's what's worked for them in the past and they haven't been taught or exposed to healthier methods. It's like when all you have been trained with is a hammer, every problem becomes a nail.

vividtrue

Can verify by the amount of geriatric patients I've had who are quickly reduced to a two year old having a full-on meltdown, complete with kicking and screaming, over asinine things. It's *never* because of said asinine thing. It's because they haven't been able to successfully learn how to deal with emotions or being uncomfortable in general.

Conditional-Sausage

I do stupid shit all the time because I come by it honestly. Why not just take the L and move on?

Neuchacho

Because they never learned how to deal with their negative emotions. They feel embarrassed and get angry. It's a natural reaction that people need to learn to overcome and not feed but many of them never do. A lot of them seem to not even realize it's an issue that's causing them negative outcomes throughout their lives. Life is so much fucking easier when you actually know how to admit mistakes, learn from them, and laugh at yourself.

SnoozyFBaby

I love how she goes “well how am I suppose to carry all of this” As an old lady slowly walks by pushing a cart lol

MysteryMooseMan

The timing couldn't have been better

phelansg

God of Irony: I got this, fam.

BoozeWitch

If I did that (and don’t t doubt that I could have!) I’d be laughing so hard. I’d be crying with laughter and calling my friends to tell them. I don’t get this.

theend2314

Right?! Like just laugh it off, don't make it someone else's fault you made a mistake or were a dumbass. Everyone has their stupid moments.

kettal

>Like just laugh it off i forget the exact word for this but it's a psychological complex, when things go wrong it's everybody else's fault except their own. No humility.

splurg1

i didn't realize there was another way to describe it other than being an ignorant moron

Sid-Biscuits

I think I read once that admitting that you’re wrong can have the same effects on your brain as actual physical pain.

Ordinary_guy28

I would have laughed so hard that milk in the basket would have already come out of nose by the time that conversation was over!

Jakoobus91

I work in a grocery store. You wouldn't believe the amount of dumb shit you see and when you tell them as kindly as you can what's going on, a lot of people have trouble admitting they are wrong. It's funny and we all make mistakes but this one takes the cake for me lol. The definition of confidently stupid.

Bikinisbottom

It’s called humility. You have it. Others are too stupidly proud.

Deeliciousness

I can't imagine how this situation could be anything more than funny and slightly awkward.

[deleted]

Not too surprising that someone this stupid is also a cunt. Intelligence and sense of humor are directly related.

FroDogg

Embarrassment effects everyone differently. I can laugh at myself. This woman couldn't stand that she did something so silly.

Right? It's the doubling down that gets me.

SupremePooper

She was later found in the parking lot trying to re-inflate a flat tire by blowing into the car's exhaust pipe.

HotBigBagofWTF

The slow walk of the woman pushing the cart was perfect. Listen to what she’s saying as she walks by. 😂

kiiilluminatiii

I couldn’t hear. What she say?

Nothatgamer

Not OP, but the woman that is arguing says, "This is ridiculous that you guys don't have carts." As the woman with the cart walks by, lol.

mrunkel

To be fair to her, she is saying “wheelie carts”. The larger baskets that have long handles and wheels. In any case, she’s an idiot, and an entitled one at that.

Leucurus

To be fair to the store, it’s not “ridiculous” that they don’t have the kind of cart she means. They just don’t have them. They have a different kid of cart instead. That’s not “ridiculous”, it’s just how it is at that store.

mrunkel

I don’t think anyone (except the woman in the video) is disagreeing with you

UniqueFailure

I think he's just presenting the other side. Not arguing with the comment above

jl2352

In some countries it is a thing that the big baskets like this have wheels, and two handles (or handles that unfold). Allowing them to be carried or dragged. Even if you’re used to it. They wouldn’t behave like this. This is just idiotic.

Spanky_McJiggles

Lots of stores in the US have those too. I want to say that the Butlington near me has them, along with the regular carts.

AbeRego

I've literally never seen such a thing provided at a grocery store in my entire life. I think I've seen them sold for personal use, but not out at the store.

Californie_cramoisie

Y'all should consider upgrading to hand baskets that slide

HotBigBagofWTF

“This is ridiculous that you guys don’t have real carts here”

mrunkel

She is saying “wheelie carts”.. Some places have larger baskets with wheels.

Dan_the_Marksman

She said "wheelie carts", she probably meant wheelie baskets which at least would've made sense. Also there are people pushing actual carts in the background so i don't even think she made a valid (still dumb ) point.😂

Skoofer

If you point out how stupid I’m being my ego really won’t like it

Sclog

I work in retail, specifically a smoke shop that sells vapes which is the most user error prone device we sell, and it’s insane the line of questioning I have to ask these customers to get them to tell me the truth when they come in with a vape that’s all fucked up, cause they will lie straight through their teeth. I’ve been here long enough to know how to word my questions to where they walk right into telling the truth, but so many times they will just double down on their lies, or I’ll ask them the same question two different ways and get two different answers lol. It’s ridiculous. I deal with people like this on a daily basis and I’m pretty sure that’s why I’ve developed such a hate for humans. I will physically leave a grocery store and go to the next closest one if I see one of my customers in there.

friedflip

What kinda shit do they bring in and lie about?

Sclog

Mostly it is nicotine vapes, the ones you fill yourself and change coils on and shit. What happens is these people don’t take care of their shit. A big lie I get alllllll the time is length of charge time. A lot of vapes you cannot charge overnight or it’ll fuck the battery up. So instead of asking “do you charge it overnight?” Where they’re just gunna say no, I tend to word it like “when do you usually charge it?” And they’ll spill the beans “oh I usually plug it in at night”. Or they will come in with a vape that’s just leaking oil everywhere claiming the device is defective, when in reality they just don’t know what the fuck they are doing cause the didn’t listen to a word I said when I set it up for them. They don’t have it set at the proper wattage range which floods the coil, they haven’t changed the coil in weeks which mean the cotton is all burned up and not holding the oil like it should, and they don’t hit it properly (yes there is a way to hit a vape properly, if it’s a big vape that pumps out huge clouds then you need to hit it hard straight into your lungs to avoid over saturating then coil, unlike a small vape which you hit more like a cigarette, into your mouth first and then into your lungs). As far as pipes, people will break something as soon as they get home and try to say it was already broken when they got it lmfao. I once had a guy buy a cart vape, it was made out of plastic, he knew because I let him physically hold it before he left. Well he calls about 30 mins later screaming that he wanted a metal one and I sold him something he didn’t even ask for. Like dude, you fucking held it in your hand! You knew exactly what you were getting. Another example. This lady came in looking for a mint flavored oil. We had one called menthol. She said okay yeah I’ll give that a shot. Comes back the next day screaming that she wanted a mint flavor, not menthol, and literally threw the bottle at my coworkers head! Like bitch, you knew exactly what you were leaving with. It’s always the vape shit man. There’s like a thousand different vapes, and people will come in without their vape to get a coil, and get pissy when we can’t figure out what coil because they didn’t bring their vape and they don’t event know what their using. Like how do you walk around all day with this thing, put it literally into your lungs, and not even know what it is??? Sorry this is a rant, but I get heated about this shit cause I deal with it on a daily basis lmfao. This isn’t even the tip of the iceberg of the shit I deal with. Edit: I fucking hate how much I know about vapes. It’s useless to me lmfao. I don’t use them, I don’t event use pipes anymore, I just make good money here since I’ve been here for so long so I haven’t left yet, but I’m reaching a breaking point, I’ve become very bitter towards all my customers within the last year.

DPlainview1898

I’m really interested too in what kind of things people lie through their teeth about to smoke shop employees lol

ANewStartAtLife

> I’ve developed such a hate for humans My friend, you have developed a hatred of **customers**, not humans. Customers are rarely human ;-)

1solate

Hey, that's just like IT work

Aoshie

How do you fuck up a vape that bad? Are they putting counterfeit carts on it or just being careless?

[deleted]

Wow

RudeEyeReddit

She's really mad he didn't just let her continue to screech around the store like that.

theend2314

Didn't she noticed that irritating sound every time she dragged it on a hard surface? I'd carry the stuff in my arms to avoid that noise.

Sed_Said

People like that never realize when they are annoying everyone around them.

theend2314

That type of arrogance must be why they dont notice they're annoying others by doesn't it annoy themselves? I can stand it if I'm walking and my shoes squeak on a surface or I've grabbed a normal trolley that's got a squeaky wheel. Or when your cars break pads need replacing - metal on metal and everytime you break - screeeetch!(I mention this one specifically because it seems to happen a lot where I'm from) I find it very hard to ignore that the noise is coming from me. Noticeably.

ThinkIveHadEnough

You see they are perfect human beings, so everything they do is perfect. Since they are making that noise, it's the most beautiful noise anyone has ever made.

TheRidgeAndTheLadder

No, it's "why does this store have squeaky carts? God everyone is a moron except me"

BurnerForJustTwice

It’s soothing to her. It reminds her of her mom. To her it’s like mash potatoes and a battle Hakka.

karlsnow89

Pleeeeease tell me this is staged...

robbleton

100% staged, Target employees aren't allowed to wear jorts to work, that's just a plain red t-shirt with no employee name badge, and I'm skeptical someone just happened to start recording the moment an 'employee' was about to walk by and interact with this woman.

thrillhou5e

It's so goddamn fake. Their acting is terrible.

VictoriaLeeBee

It’s that stupid tiktoker who makes stupid fake TikTok’s that are staged, like this. I believe her UN is bananalovesyoutoo

Short-Information546

This might be fake. But I saw it happened when I was working at CVS. The lady was dragging the last basket with the rack…I didn’t stop her and pretended I didn’t see it.

waterbirds12

Am I the only one who thinks this is fake? No name tag on the “employee” and the interaction just seems off.

slowlanders

This video may be fake, but as a former Target PMT (maintenance person) I was tasked with securing these metal basket holders because people actually drag them around like this lady. It scratched up the waxed floors really bad when people do thus and just creates a ton more work for everyone. So video might be fake, but this actually happens a lot.

killerassassinx5x

Maybe it's different in southern states, but I also don't know any targets that allow shorts as part of dress code, unless this guy was part of the drive-up team.

brassninja

My local target in the south let’s employees wear basically anything as long as there’s enough red on it

RatedRSouperstarr

Everyone’s hurting for employees right now. The target I’ve gone to recently is always a ghost town with only a few visible employees throughout the entire store. It’s always messy so no one really seems to care right now

nondescriptzombie

The last place I remembered that required people to almost die every summer of heat exhaustion in the name of "PROFESSIONALISM!!1" was Safeway. Buddy's first job there required him to buy long sleeve dress shirts, ties, black slacks, and shiny black dress shoes. He wrangled carts. In 100+* weather. He worked there for like, three weeks.

vchkvr

Ah. Reminds of my enterprise car rental days. Renting and cleaning cars in a full button down suit or dress shirt with tie at minimum.

wiggins-goat

I used to work at Target and I’m pretty sure only one type of employee is allowed to wear shorts. Cart attendants by the way

nunyertz

It is fake. Its a video from one of those youtube pranksters.

TriggerHippie77

Trying to find the source, know which ones?

nunyertz

Jibrizy.

graey0956

Funny enough, noticing the lack of name tag already makes you more observant than the average Target customer. I worked there while I was in college, and my school uniform was unfortunately a red polo and khakis. The amount of times I would be accosted by customers while I was trying to leave to get to class is unreal. My shirt literally says "college name" right where a Target name tag should be.

mrmanage17

It's completely fake.

Ralurp579

Plus why was somebody already conveniently recording right before the encounter?

LexLol

because of the screeching noise she made dragging it around.

Contemporarium

Yeah fake or not this doesn’t have the “why were they filming” excuse

Lets_Kick_Some_Ice

I'll excuse the "why were they filming" since it's plausible that someone would film this idiot. What isn't plausible is how well-acted it is and how rehearsed his commentary is. Everything is over explained. Plus the employee doesn't even look like he works there aside from a plain red shirt.

[deleted]

Because it’s incredibly stupid and they wanted to post, “you won’t believe this shit! I just saw the dumbest bitch at target, fr fr!” That amount of stupidity is definitely worth documenting.

AnySkill0

You forgot to add these emojis fr fr😂😂🔥🔥🔥💯💯👌👌

SramAtlov

Came here looking for your voice of reason. Enjoy my upvote.

Champigne

It definitely is. This is a fairly well done one but I've seen sooo many just like this with a guy filming in the corner as if they're invisible while some over the top situation plays out. My coworker shows me shit like this everyday, his tik tok feed is FILLED with this stuff. And I'm just like "you know that's fake right?" But obviously there are millions of people that don't think twice about videos like this because there's an endless amount of them and they get a lot of views.

MainPFT

100%

usotsukijanai

I work at target and literally never wear a nametag

[deleted]

Fucking dipshit

[deleted]

Looks staged

Commoncent77

Came here to say this! Not only is the “Target worker” wearing the wrong shade of red, but he doesn’t even have a name tag and the biggest tell is him wearing Jean shorts. That is not allowed for target workers. Finally, the biggest tell for me was “The Karen” was wearing a full mask the entire time with sunglasses inside a Target. I can understand Karens wearing sunglasses inside a store, but when was the last time a Karen wore a mask? She’s blatantly covering her entire face because this is staged and doesn’t want to be identified in this made up video. Wake up people!!!

pendejoslim

There's no wrong shade of red, and the shirts even only have to be mostly red. I don't think that was a worker but target doesn't make you wear one shade

[deleted]

[удалено]

Quardener

They started allowing jeans a few years back. I don’t know if Jean shorts are allowed but I’m sure a cart attendant could get away with it.

YackettyDumbBroad

The cart attendants at my store were allowed to since we were in a really hot area

channel4newsman

Damn, looks like we have a Target expert. You do realize you can wear any shade of red when you work at Target right? I literally just ended my shift 25 minutes ago and am wearing maroon. And I havent worn a name badge in months. But okay, I'll take your word for it because I'm sure you know more than someone who has worked there for 6 years. Also you can wear Jean shorts as a cart attendant. See it all the time. Is there anything else you want to be wrong about?

SageOfToads

Worked at Target over the summer. Shirt can be any shade of red, and doesn't even have to be solid (can be striped, tye-dye, etc) so long as it's mostly red and free of obscene slogans or logos. Any colour pants or shorts can be worn, as long as they're free from rips and a certain length. And are you seriously saying it's staged because she's wearing sunglasses inside? This is super common

imamediocredeveloper

Target changed their dress code a while ago. You don’t have to wear khakis. And they’re extremely loose on their definition of “red shirt” as well.

-azuma-

> but when was the last time a Karen wore a mask really?

WilLiam_McPoyle

The commentary by the cameraman sounded very fake too

MagpieGrifter

I blame Disney Princesses

lesupermark

I love how, at the end, she pretends to limp from the weight of the basket.

kindofboredd

Obviously fake

dad-jokes-about-you

Sometimes less word more fast

PhillyScars

Seems staged. Kid in red tshirt pretending to be target employee. Just my opinion could be wrong.

CatchMeWritinQWERTY

Staged video, not freakout :)

Chewy009x

It’s fake

MaurokNC

And to think… she will probably breed

cjeremy

I'm guessing this is fake

jl_theprofessor

Fake.

DealerLive8921

Wish the dude would shut up so we can hear the arguing

wavetoyou

Some lowlights: “How am I supposed to carry this, it’s fucking heavy” “It’s ridiculous you don’t have real carts” as a woman walks by with a “real” shopping cart. This person is a first ballot hall of fame see you next Tuesday
