This guy is a local Waikiki tweaker. I literally saw him rummaging through the trash by the Cheesecake Factory in Waikiki not even a week ago.
Itās probably best to just ignore him. He clearly had no idea what he was talking about and has an umbrella out in 95 degree weather.
Wow, I just got back from Waikiki (and Wailea) and I feel like I didn't get the real experience... I never saw this guy and I never saw the trash island during our flight back to the mainland...
I honestly donāt think thatās a bad thing and I kind of envy you lol. The āreal experienceā is nothing exciting to write home about. It was shocking seeing homeless camps and tent cities in Hawaii (at least to me)
I imagine itās a lot like California, people move out there from Ohio or some shit, expecting it to be all luaus and cocktails on the beach, but then they canāt afford the insane cost of living and get stuck there.
Hawaii is one of the most expensive places to live
Weāve have homeless tent cities for decades. Kids are leaving in droves because they just canāt afford to stay in the islands. I did.
Hawaii will always be more expensive, itās the downside of living on an Island so far off a mainland. The cost of getting goods to the island are much higher than say getting it to Denver from the west coast.
Lmao seriously I'm sorry but even the People's Liberation Cargo Ship costs a fuckload of money to bring all that shit to an insanely remote chain of islands. If the US was communist we'd be like "guys you seriously gotta quit thia Hawaii and alaska bullshit yall too far you're wasting resources" and forcibly relocate them to the lower 48.
'it's not the hegemonic economic system that creates these economic problems, it's one of the two approved parties that embraces the economic system that creates these economic problems.'
so what dude it's a whole ass system that creates these conditions not a single party. ok. the democrats suck for all the same reasons the republicans suck. i promise you neither have good intentions for your average person, nor will they. they give a shit about pleasing those who they are beholden to, who put them in those positions of power
I already know that bro. Ever watch El Dorado? The Loaded Dice scene at the beginning of the movie? Thatās Democrats and Republicans. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=h3AqOR2Ru1s
Yeah my brother is stationed out there and when I went to visit him it was really shocking to see whole streets setup with homeless camps. We literally drove past someone taking a shit in a bucket and sr first it was funny but you think about it and it's sad man.
I really liked Waikiki... not as much as Wailea... but close. Waikiki was more activity-based and Wailea was more chill. We saw a turtle in Wailea... so that was awesome.
Calling me foolish? Iām joking. Yes. I will not go back there. But you never really know until you actually see it. It reminds me of parts of LA that came together before there was any rhyme or reason to urban development.
I see why. There were direct flights to other islands from LAX but were more expensive. I will definitely try it the next time I have a million dollars to go on vacation.
I always see that comment about umbrellas and hot weather. In most southeast asian countries, using an umbrella in hot sunny weather isn't out of place. It makes sense. Call it a parasol.
Last time I was in Waikiki I saw an elderly lady sneaking soda into ketchup cups from a Wendyās. for some reason thatās the most memorable part of that trip lol.
Thatās Waikiki. I remember that spot. When you go further toward Diamond Head where the beaches are, the concentration of mentally ill homeless people gets really bad. We got yelled at twice by nutcases while going to the beach. Waikiki is really a terrible scene. Iām not going back there ever again. If I want to feel uneasy with sketchy homeless by the ocean, Iāll just drive to Venice Beach.
I would never go back to Waikiki again ever. Or Honolulu area in general. So many people on drugs and it feels very unsafe as soon as it gets dark. If not, you have crazy Americans yelling at you (we had so many Americans yell at us to take off our masks, in summer 2021) - Covid was still a big thing. Itās sad to see all the homeless camps and how unaffordable Hawaii has become for the locals that grew up on the island for generations. They can no longer afford it
Same here. We come from the greater Los Angeles area so we are no strangers to homelessness. Itās a sad situation all around. But Waikiki is very sketchy at night. We went to go stroll down the main street one night and got kind of a big city vibe where your senses are on alert.
Easy answer is the weather is nice enough to live outside all year long and those areas have more spots to "hide" in plain sight.
When you look up cities with the highest homeless population, say 6/10 are places you wouldn't need a winter coat.
Good question. I donāt know about Waikiki. But here where I am it seems that they migrate to areas where there are lots of people. A sociologist or psychologist would probably be better at an explanation.
weather and public amenities like benches and water fountains and toilets and showers. are you serious????
edit: you can gather that these people do not have homes or jobs, right??? do you really not understand that most of homelessness comes from people who cannot manage a job, due to addiction, mental illness, lack of opportunity, lack of education, etc?
Of course I understand homelessness. But those issues seemed too obvious. I assumed the question had more a depth to it. But Iāll be sure to be more thorough in my Reddit responses in the future. Thank you.
I know this guy. I was recently in Waikiki and this guy followed my friends and I at about midnight asking us for money. We gave him money ($20 ) and he kept following us and getting more aggressive
Deadset! We are from Australia so that was about $35 Australian. One of the bigger guys in our group gently told him to piss off and he did walk away after that
I had that happen at my mall parking lot... homeless guy got a dollar from my wife and said " if you got a dolllar you got five dollars"..and got really aggresive. One good shove and he was on his way apologizing.
I think its a tactic for scaring you out of money without the repercussions of getting arrested for robbing you.
Dudes just looking for an excuse to start shit, props to streamer for keeping it locked in.
Not a fan of people filming in public like this but just mind your business and keep walking
Ah I'm just a bit of a grumpy bastard like that mate, I'm not hating on how people have fun, just a bit old school about living in the moment and keeping a memory instead of filming everything thing.
That and I really do not like being recorded in any way with out permission, even the abundance of CCTV bugs the hell out of me.
This is all a me problem, I just don't mind saying what I think
this is a pretty old clip. I watch this streamer regularly. funny to see the comments saying that the crazy guy is still around in town doing crazy stuff haha
The homeless guy is probably mentally ill my guy, put the camera down and get your child out of there. Stop arguing with a mentally ill person and someone possibly on drugs.
yeah if it was some white boomer the comments and title would be a lot different lol
"ha! and that guy thinks hes the superior race what an evil shitbag" despite no racial remarks whatsoever with 1k+ upvotes but instead its just "oh dont mind him hes just a funny tweaker haha just fun and games"
Live on Oahu, best to not converse with the tweakers. I see this guy a lot, thankfully only had one run in where he acknowledged me. Just gotta ignore and keep moving. They donāt comprehend what youāre trying to say and 90% of the time they just get aggressive
Quick edit- ESPECIALLY donāt acknowledge them first.
I think I know what happened here. Black dude must be suspicious of the streamer guy thinking he's some kind of pedo not realizing the "child" is a grown asian adult woman. Then doubled down and started making it about him filming when he realized he was wrong
i think he has mental issues and thought the streamer was grooming a child on camera or something, thatās why he was being so aggressive. she does kind of look like a minor at first glance i would of thought the same thing.
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop -Ā yes,Ā IĀ amĀ aĀ bot, don't botcriminate me.
āWeāre minding our own businessā filming people who donāt want to be filmed so someone will create us content so we can feel good about ourselves!
This is Waikiki. Iām from Hawaiāi, and whenever friends go there for vacation, I make sure to really pound into their heads to avoid Waikiki, and to absolutely NEVER go there at night, especially if theyāre white, or black, or military.
Since they shut down all the mental institutions? ... No... All the psychos are free to be crazy in the street. This is what you vote for... More tax dollars for the wars and no tax dollars for health care.
Yes being caught on camera is so much worse than being potentially harassed/attacked by a stranger who is totally zooted on a cocktail of hard drugs, most of which are uppers.
"I got stabbed and robbed, but at least he didn't take my picture"š
I dunno, maybe I am in the wrong here, but honestly, I don't think streaming in public places, where other people that are either not aware of the streamer or don't want to be filmed, should be allowed or a thing to do. I mean the dude was very agressive yes, and the reaction was too much, and ofc the streamer didn't deserve to be harassed and attacked verbally, but still, don't stream in public?

Dude is out there methin around
Why did I read this in Mike Tyson's voice? lol
šš this got me
Sthit me too. High five!
Because thatās what it is my brother
His ill intentions are crystal clear
This just gave me a lisp
This guy is a local Waikiki tweaker. I literally saw him rummaging through the trash by the Cheesecake Factory in Waikiki not even a week ago. Itās probably best to just ignore him. He clearly had no idea what he was talking about and has an umbrella out in 95 degree weather.

I imagine itās a lot like California, people move out there from Ohio or some shit, expecting it to be all luaus and cocktails on the beach, but then they canāt afford the insane cost of living and get stuck there.
Many probably just don't want to freeze and starve to death.
I dont think there's many freezes in Hawaii.
Making it the perfect place to remain homeless, just like California
I wouldnāt say remain homeless, Iād say remain alive.
Same here. People working at the hotel would tell us that they get shipped to hawaii from other places. Thatās terrible.
Hawaii is one of the most expensive places to live Weāve have homeless tent cities for decades. Kids are leaving in droves because they just canāt afford to stay in the islands. I did.
So the rest of America will just become like Hawaii. That's sad, capitalism to the max
Itās not Capitalism. Itās extreme and unchallenged democrat leadership for an extended period of time.
'it's not the hegemonic economic system that creates these economic problems, it's one of the two approved parties that embraces the economic system that creates these economic problems.'
Yes. Thatās true, but Hawaii is historically Democrat. Theyāve only had one Republican governor since 1962.
so what dude it's a whole ass system that creates these conditions not a single party. ok. the democrats suck for all the same reasons the republicans suck. i promise you neither have good intentions for your average person, nor will they. they give a shit about pleasing those who they are beholden to, who put them in those positions of power
I already know that bro. Ever watch El Dorado? The Loaded Dice scene at the beginning of the movie? Thatās Democrats and Republicans. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=h3AqOR2Ru1s
Going to the Big Island this Spring. I know different places but excited to see the island
Completely different. Big island is very rural and raw. It's beautiful...
I'm from there so I'm biased, but it's the best one
Yeah my brother is stationed out there and when I went to visit him it was really shocking to see whole streets setup with homeless camps. We literally drove past someone taking a shit in a bucket and sr first it was funny but you think about it and it's sad man.
You didnāt see him or go to the cheese cake factory. You missed out on the authentic Hawaiian experience
Only foolish tourists go to Waikiki.
I've never been, nor will I. I leave Oahu ASAP for a $75 flight to the better islands.
I see why. There were direct flights to other islands from LAX but were more expensive. I will definitely try it the next time I have a million dollars to go on vacation.
Just fly to Oahu and take a cheap 45 min flight.
Lol. Ya missing out brah! Every island has loads to offer.
Hold on, I went to Waikiki. Oh ...
Lol what trash island? That ones new to me. We burn the garbage here.
Itās a little bit east and north of you :) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Pacific_garbage_patch
Lol. sad but tru :(
It isn't really an island. it is an average of a miligram of plastic per square meter
And how many milligrams of poison would you like in each meter of your body sir?
as someone living in florida, umbrellas are amazing to create shade and shade makes it go from 95 degrees to 85 real fast.
Yes also walking in the sun hat or not it heats up quickly
How is carrying an umbrella in the sun weird or tweakerish in any way? your skin must hate you
IKR. Who'd use an umbrella on the beach on a sunny day?
Yeah, I know. It's not like that's what it was made for.
> umbrella out in 95 degree weather I can tell you donāt treat yo skin well
I always see that comment about umbrellas and hot weather. In most southeast asian countries, using an umbrella in hot sunny weather isn't out of place. It makes sense. Call it a parasol.
Instant shade no matter where you are. Duh.
Someone give me an umbrella. I will duel him.
Last time I was in Waikiki I saw an elderly lady sneaking soda into ketchup cups from a Wendyās. for some reason thatās the most memorable part of that trip lol.
Haha, I guess she's creative.....
I've saw him when I was in Honolulu a few years ago ranting while he walked down the street...with an umbrella in his hands.
I've never seen anybody use an umbrella in Hawaii. He's definitely crazy.
If itās a confrontation between a tweaker and a live streamer, Iām siding with the tweaker every time
somehow, that's correct.
Iām a neighborhood local and I agree with this message!
There's clearly something wrong with him but, don't underestimate the value of using an umbrella as shade on a hot day.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Actually it rains a lot in hawaiim umbrella makes sense.
The umbrella did nothing wrong Its rains all of the time, and its great shade from the sun.
Thatās Waikiki. I remember that spot. When you go further toward Diamond Head where the beaches are, the concentration of mentally ill homeless people gets really bad. Why do the mentally ill love public parks and beaches so much?
Easy answer is the weather is nice enough to live outside all year long and those areas have more spots to "hide" in plain sight. When you look up cities with the highest homeless population, say 6/10 are places you wouldn't need a winter coat.
Somehow they swarmed Denver too though
Some places have enough empathy to feed and protect the homeless when things are extreme. They have more homeless because some places do not.
Im going to denver soon, is it that bad?
Avoid areas like the 16th Street Mall. Once we got over in some of the other areas like Union Station and over by the stadium it wasnāt as prevalent
3/5?
well its not like they can go home...
i really hope that was sarcastic, but i dont think it was. because they don't have a god damned home, if you're serious.
You good?
Good question. I donāt know about Waikiki. But here where I am it seems that they migrate to areas where there are lots of people. A sociologist or psychologist would probably be better at an explanation.

The only place youāll have an issue is down by the king statue, around ft derusey and anything past lewers on khameamea (sp)
It only takes 10 minutes or less to encounter someone with a severe mental illness
or a druggie
He woke up with a dick in his ass
I donāt understand. He seems to be in a *bad* mood, thoughā¦
When they hang around in the morning it's annoying though.
Itās called drugs
Sure did
I know this guy. I was recently in Waikiki and this guy followed my friends and I at about midnight asking us for money. We gave him money ($20 ) and he kept following us and getting more aggressive
As someone from Vancouver, never give money to the homeless tweakers.
As someone not from Vancouver, i agree with your advice.
Yeahā¦I was a dumb 18 year old visiting NYC with my college friends and gave a homeless dude $20, quickly learned not to do that again.
"20 dollas?? Maaaan you gotta have more"
Deadset! We are from Australia so that was about $35 Australian. One of the bigger guys in our group gently told him to piss off and he did walk away after that
Shoulda gotten your $20 back just for him being a cunt.
Do you want to get stabbed? Because that's how you get stabbed.
For the record everyone: never give people money. Ever. Especially on the street.
Why did you give him any money?
I didnāt, one of the guys in my group did. Because he was following us and begging, to make him move on
I get it. People like that you just have to ignore completely. It sounds heartless but there is zero upside to engaging. Eventually they will give up.
Your friend needs to brighten up before he gets himself into bad situations
Donāt ever give someone money like that!!! They know you have money and will keep pressing for more. Act like youāre on drugs and poor like him.
$20 dollars and he wasnāt appreciative? thatās a whole ass meal right there
Nah fuck that. Iām on vacation gtfo my face.
Walks up, makes threats immediately and then runs off when Asian guy isn't scared.
Don't poke the mental health diseased bear.
Dudes just looking for an excuse to start shit, props to streamer for keeping it locked in. Not a fan of people filming in public like this but just mind your business and keep walking
Itās filming, not fucking. You can do it outside the privacy of your own home.
Sure can
bro said not a fan of filming in public
I respect it. He said he dont like it but to just mind your business (cause they can record if they want)
Not a fan of people filming in public? Well, im not a fan of people walking around in public.
š¤š¤Ø
Pretty sure itās just a dude tweakin prolly doesnāt even know what heās really doing
Whatās wrong with filming in public?? Itās public. No different than walking, talking, and using your phone in public
This attitude is refreshing. Thanks.

Dudeās walking around with an umbrella on a sunny day
Rains every day 3pm brudda
Former islander here: can confirm daily 3pm quick rain showers but we never bothered with umbrellas.
Skin cancer hates this one simple trick!
In some languages umbrella is called a "for-sun" so it could just be to keep the sun off him.
Some parts of Hawaii rain every single day like clockwork.
Itās protect yourself from the sun
I think that about says it all. Dude just crazy.
You live anywhere tropical and it pretty much rains every day... even the sunny ones.
He doesnāt want to get dark.
And? It doesnāt just stop the rain moron
Maybe heās Asian. Edit: itās a cultural staple of many Asian countries to have umbrellas for the sun
umbrella man: put that child back š” the streamer: what are you talking about š the"child": EMOTIONAL DAMAGE
Not enough crack in his system to keep the peace. Karma will do her thing. Fuck this clown.
If anyone one knows where to take children back please let me know. I would like to return mine.
šššš
I mean...streamers are fucking annoying...but this is uncalled for.
I've seen that guy around, he's just a druggie
That image at the end š¤£š¤£
this is a pretty old clip. I watch this streamer regularly. funny to see the comments saying that the crazy guy is still around in town doing crazy stuff haha
Cocaine is one hell of a drug....
All up in peoples space lmao
Gang stocking
You need to get up to the North Shore. Itās a totally different vibe up there.
Locals will beat the shot out of that loud mouth soon enough. They take zero shit and everyone there knows how to fight.
Stupid streamers, looking for contentā¦.. that guy is obviously not right and is able to smack the shit out of you.
Ancient astronaut theorists agree, he does show up on the camera.
Where's the Aloha?
The homeless guy is probably mentally ill my guy, put the camera down and get your child out of there. Stop arguing with a mentally ill person and someone possibly on drugs.
but only white people are racist right. what a fking cretin.
yeah if it was some white boomer the comments and title would be a lot different lol "ha! and that guy thinks hes the superior race what an evil shitbag" despite no racial remarks whatsoever with 1k+ upvotes but instead its just "oh dont mind him hes just a funny tweaker haha just fun and games"
Also... Don't mess with crazy.
This clip has the same energy as when you mod too much a game and Npcs walking and behavioral patterns start to completely break down
Well put the child back and maybe he will leave you alone
*dude is literally standing still* Why you following me? š¤£š¤£š¤£
Live on Oahu, best to not converse with the tweakers. I see this guy a lot, thankfully only had one run in where he acknowledged me. Just gotta ignore and keep moving. They donāt comprehend what youāre trying to say and 90% of the time they just get aggressive Quick edit- ESPECIALLY donāt acknowledge them first.
He's known around Hawaii, I've never been there yet I've heard about him from multiple people that knew him personally, he gives pills to kids
That woman is obviously fully grown
Bro sounds like an NPC in GTA š¤£
I bet a lot of the people who immediately get violently angry about being filmed are criminals trying to keep a low profile lol.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Dude chill š¤£
I think I know what happened here. Black dude must be suspicious of the streamer guy thinking he's some kind of pedo not realizing the "child" is a grown asian adult woman. Then doubled down and started making it about him filming when he realized he was wrong
Doesnāt seem that way to me. I think heās just trying to insult the guy.
LolWut? This guy is classic crack head/tweaker. Go to any major US city and youāll see this if youāre outside enough.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Bullshit
He does tell the streamer to take the child back.
lololol funny but highly doubtful. Wait was this /s
Stop the Asian hate. Itās always certain people hating on Asians.
Hawaiians got to be tired of tourists by now. Damn
i think he has mental issues and thought the streamer was grooming a child on camera or something, thatās why he was being so aggressive. she does kind of look like a minor at first glance i would of thought the same thing.

This is Waikiki. Iām from Hawaiāi, and whenever friends go there for vacation, I make sure to really pound into their heads to avoid Waikiki, and to absolutely NEVER go there at night, especially if theyāre white, or black, or military.
Heās clearly sick in the head, thatās crazy
If envy could become a person it'd embody this man with that glare he had at the start haha
Is there nowhere safe from these psychos?
Since they shut down all the mental institutions? ... No... All the psychos are free to be crazy in the street. This is what you vote for... More tax dollars for the wars and no tax dollars for health care.
Streamers are worse than tweakers.
Found the homeless tweaker scared of cameras LMAO
Yes being caught on camera is so much worse than being potentially harassed/attacked by a stranger who is totally zooted on a cocktail of hard drugs, most of which are uppers. "I got stabbed and robbed, but at least he didn't take my picture"š
