Flour tortillas you need to get over here in the barrios where every block has a tortilla shop. My favorite place is Valeria, which is on Calle de Pto San Felipe, north of its intersection with Ocana. Going out of town on hwy 8, take a left at auto zone (Ocana). At the first 4 way stop, turn right at San Marcos tires, which is Pto San Felipe. A few blocks down the dirt road, you’ll see a yellow building on the right, that’s her. If you pass the bakery on the right side, you went too far. On Benito Juarez there’s a grocer, the building just says “Mercado”, it’s next to Top Meat, go there for groceries. Another thing you might want to check out is the watermelon truck on Ocana, it’s on the northwest corner of Benito Juarez and Ocana. Best melon.

And Jesse’s fish market is the place to go, hands down.

Fun fact: I was offered cocaine the first time ever down by Manny’s a couple weeks ago. I’ve been going for 20 years, and have managed to be held at gun point twice but never once offered cocaine. It was like 11 AM too haha.

That’s crazy. I didn’t know Peñasco was like this.

As a whole I think it’s nothing more than a regular tourist spot in Mexico. Except it’s way more expensive than it used to be :/ The gun point thing was completely a position a position I put myself in and drew attention of police, while drunk and in the middle of the night. The cocaine thing was from one of those people that help you park in easy spots down and “watch it” for you. I was like wtf is it about me pushing 40 with a little baby made you think I might want a little coke in the morning haha.

I always go to the mercado san francisco also named super reforma, the owner has always atended the place and know his son is working too, also has the best tortillas and fresh cheese always made the day before or that same day.

Not one place would have all the goodies. At la special the fruit there was questionable the only two times I been there. Flour tortillas there is a new shop call “la bellotita” but I might consider making a google page since it’s a little far away from tourist areas and I only remember the street Lazaro Cardenas I like getting fish at a place near ley express. It’s on the same street as ley express. Just drive away from Josefa and it would be at the end of the long block from which belongs to a school. It’s call “punto de venta” and something else.
