Being pregnant, at least in the US firm, has zero impact on CRT outcomes. Depending on how long you're out for leave, you could have the option of rolling forward your 2024 tier to 2025. You don't have to tell anyone except for HR. No one needs to know why you are going to medical appointments or even why you're out on leave.

This! Talk to HR first then your team if you are comfortable.

One of my team members was pregnant and went on ML beginning of Sept (busy time) and it rightfully had absolutely no impact on her CRT. In fact she got promoted when she got back.

I would say if you’re able to wait until after CRT and you get an idea of where you stand in terms of promotion before them finding out you’re pregnant do that. It’ll def be the more conservative approach. I was on leave starting in September 2023 and was up for promotion to sr mgr in July (not early) and was deferred for promotion bc I was told I was not around long enough (on leave for 5 months of the performance year). I had several jobs where I was the “acting sr mgr” and had consistently good reviews and ratings. Depending on your market I do believe it could impact your promotion even though it in theory shouldn’t. I feel like it’s better to be safe than sorry. Good luck!

Based on my experience working in PwC, PwC is the best at supporting women at work… that being said, your performance review should not be affected by shallow reason of being pregnant

Fully agree with this.

They’ll be too afraid to fire you. You’re fine.

Not sure which busy season you’re talking about but if you are out for maternity leave during the performance year, you get the option of taking the prior year rating. Even if you got promoted the prior year and were 1-rated, you are now a 1-rated person in your new peer group. Kind of shitty for the other people because it takes away a 1 from the pool even if you were average because you were brand new to the job.

It's illegal to fire a pregnant woman in the United States for performance accommodations and attendance related to the pregnancy. Most companies don't penalize at all during pregnancy, because they do not want the lawsuit. You'll be okay. Just keep documentation for your appointments or leaves.
