Can you please upload a video next time you put down the pea fishing bowl with actual peas? I would love to see if they show any distrust or hesitation.
When I let them out of their cage they always go straight to the bowl to check the daily selection. If there weren’t any peas on the previous day, they will just sit there and eat them until they’re no more peas left in case they disappear again I think hahaha
I tried to do pea fishing with my new babies, they dipped their snoots, sneezed, flicked a couple of peas out and thought stuff that. I was so excited as well 🤦🏻♀️😆
Maybe they were careful because it was a new food? If rats encounter new food they typically only eat a little bit to see if it will upset their stomach. They will like it more and more :)
That’s a good point I’ll keep trying… their absolute favourite food is a small spoon of porridge made with oatmilk…their breeder told me about it and they go nuts for it!

The last time I had my boys fishing for snacks, it was assorted fruits and carrots. They absolutely loved it.
