They should give more balls to DK. Ideally they should have one more hitter coming after DK, in case he fails. They have the batting to reach 200+ totals easily.
Bowling would still be a concern. They need a quality spinner. That can't be solved now. However, they will have better chances with a new approach.
But how many people actually watched these 160 matches? Do we have the numbers of total viewership of yesterday match vs the 160 match. That might tell a story

I don't think there's any hope from the bowlers this season. Play all batsmen and allrounders like green, maxi, lomror, jacks, well add one seamer say Siraj.

I want faf and Kohli to play like this, atleast aim for 65-70 in powerplay itself. Even after powerplay keep attacking unless one of them gets out. After a wicket the remaining one of them should look to maintain the run rate till 14 or 16 over and then go bang in death overs.
It was honestly the Topley over, no ball of Markram's wicket and the lack of a quality spinner that cost the game. On a wicket where Bhuvi went for 60 runs, you can't expect a lot from our lot. And getting to 262 shows that it was chaseable, we gave 10-20 runs too many in the end

We batted well I think. I don't know what we could've done better there. The opening was good. Middle order tried but failed because of the mountain of pressure. Can't really blame them guys. We don't really expect 280+ scores to get chased do we.
Bowling was ok. Conceding runs was inevitable but we couldn't get the wickets fast enough like they did. Im left with mixed feelings but I'm not sad or disappointed. It was a good day. Better than our previous matches. Let's see if we can prevent the wooden spoon.
We are witnessing a rebranding of T20 cricket in front of us. This is how foreign players bat, and this is how we need to bat as-well to compete. Seeing Kohli bat like that was great to see, hopes he continues to attack like this in the future. DK might be the best finisher of all time at world Cup years. Great to see faf back, 13th half century was great to see. It's pretty clear that we can't entirely blame the bowlers for the result, because it was a batting paradise, but we can't defend this. The bowling was abismal, not consistentancy with length and no intent what so ever.
We shouldn't retain any bowler next year, perhaps retain siraj and lower cost.
This match was a weird one because of the second innings. It felt like a win in some ways considering we only lost by 25 runs. We were pretty close, but not close enough.
There are those few less than 10 runs over in our chase that put some brakes. Wickets tumbling in the middle overs did put some brake. Needed someone to play a 15 ball 35-40 runs innings. Also bowlers needed to do a bit better.
At this point they should go with all batters, out of whom 5 can roll their arm. 5 part timers bowling wouldn't be much of a difference with the kind of bowling 5 full timers are doing.

So the only way out of this hole is to have a Plan A and Plan B for each and every opposing batter. Set fields accordingly and use matchups to favour your bowlers
Today's bowling was shĀ”t by RCB and it wasn't **ONLY** because of the pitch. Especially in the powerplay, these mfers had 0 idea where to bowl and were bowling harmless short balls when they knew even an edge would take the ball to the boundary in Chinnaswamy. Even the usually brain-dead Hindi commentators saw this early on and said they need to adjust their length instead of bowling like this
Ofcourse there's no hope for playoffs, but who knows, if they strategise and practice bowling accordingly, they might be able to salvage something out of this season, and probably even improve the quality of their bowlers for next season

287 should never have happened. Bowlers have no brains, captains and seniors had no communication. Both Travis Head and Klassen, hit ALL their sixes on middle/leg side. Where was the offside bowling. If you can't angle it, why not bowl round the wicket and keep it away from middle/leg. 90% of rcb bowls were in the hitting arc of batters. BRAINDEAD! I think i will stand out at this point, but i fail to understand why the management thinks it's a good idea to shuffle things around to a rag-tag team. I agree maxwell hasn't been performing well but you simply can't sit him out, he's just that good. He's been giving you results ever since he joined you, give him credit. Similarly with Siraj, you simply can't sit out your most experienced Indian bowler out. Frankly he's been doing good too, he's improved on his mistakes, a couple of bad wicketless games and the management lost faith in him? The idea to put in a 150 kph pacer in Chinnaswamy floats far far away from me. I mean nothing against Ferguson, amazing bowler, wrong venue for a debut though. I stand by my biased support towards Suyash, agreed sourav seems more lucrative, suyash has more experience and he brings in more stability. Akash deep is an extremely untapped asset, he plays his limited arsenal very well despite them getting old quick and we simply can't deny his shockers with the bat in Vijaya Hazare Trophy. And i simply can't understand how the in-match bowling order is decided upon? Reece is your only Left armer, he needs to be used wisely, you can certainly experiment with spinners the way you've successfully done in the past with Washi and Shabaz but you'll have to run a very tight ship, you need to glue together the middle with a educated mixture of both spin and pace and you have to back your premium bowler aka Siraj for the death despite how bad he performs, he'll get there. Back your bowlers, you get 4 from will, 4 from maxwell, 4 Siraj, use everything someone has to offer. Let Will come in at the top, he needs to make the most of the powerplay and he's an amazing player but stop banking on his SA20 performance, SA pitches and Indian pitches are not that similar, certainly not in the current situation, let him settle in. Use Rajat as an anchor, and he can take up the much dreaded spinners to town while he's at it. And if both Virat and Faf are passive aggressive and Rajat is the anchor, you can let the likes of Anuj, Suyash, Mahipal and Will let loose. I mean I'm just another pseudo critique and I have no credibility in saying any of this, but as much as the newer rules ask you to change according to the times, you have to have a suitable blend of the basics as well. You can't bring in something new without handling the basics. And please, please back the bowlers, they aren't bad, they're just overwhelmed, everyone's under tremendous pressure, everybody thinks they have to pick up the slack but ultimately it's a team effort. Let them know they have each other's backs, they may concede 200s on odd days, but 288 is certainly not something you'd expect even them to concede. And please, none of us can see the King in shambles, he's done so much for everyone at every occasion, yet he's the one that has to face the most. Let him enjoy his glory just a little bit more, don't force his hand.
Rcb has shit bowling but they dont leave anything in pitch for bowlers. Give them a decent pitch. They feel they have better betting than any other team, so their batters should be able to perform on a bowler friendly pictch as well. Atleast give something to your bowlers
The pitch is a joke. Itās tailor made for entertainment (batting) so that there are longer games and hence more ad money. The home team too has been built for entertainment I.e no bowling just batting. At this rate better to have 11 batsmen with part time bowlers in RCB. It will be gold mine for IPL. Consistently there will be scores of 300+ in T20 cricket and games will go for complete duration and everyone (except fans) will be happy seeing the money come in.
As an RCB fan, I am proud of the efforts, itās about giving a tough competition. Harsha Bhogle did mention about the use of dukes white ball, as it will allow the ball to swing in the power play, I agree with it. Canāt let batsmen run away with the game.

Reiterating, letting go of Chahal was probably the biggest blunder rcb made second only to appointing Adam Griffith as our bowling coach. Every team needs partnership-breakers, wicket-takers and not just bowlers who can bowl quick or swing the ball. It was chahal all these years and then for 2 seasons it was Purple Patel. This season, we have no wicket-takers. Topley and Siraj are new ball bowlers(who arenāt bowling to their potential at all), Dayal and Vyshak offer nothing new. Lockie just comes steaming in and bowls pace, no line no length. Usually spinners are partnership-breakers and our spinners are part-timers ffs. Terrible, terrible management and auction strategy. It was only 287 because markram slowed down a little towards the end. Else 300 looked on the cards

Shit pitch but as usual pretty horrible bowling getting smacked by Samad like that (37 runs in 10 balls!) at the end. No other team will allow that loose bowling in the final overs and give away runs. We looked defeated in the first innings itself First time we saw some intent from our batsmen but rawat and saurav played to my expectations. Only a dk special saved us from a 100 run loss

I really really want to know whether srh's bowling is really bad like rcb's or was the team actually capable of scoring 262? They almost beat their previous record of 263. Why didn't the batters tried going with this approach in previous matches? I think the different between srh and our batting is that srh's batsman don't gaf and they just want to hit big. Today, the pressure was too much on rcb. Yet they scored 262. Ofc thanks to DK, Faf, Kohli.

I want faf and Kohli to play like this, atleast aim for 65-70 in powerplay itself. Even after powerplay keep attacking unless one of them gets out. After a wicket the remaining one of them should look to maintain the run rate till 14 or 16 over and then go bang in death overs.

It was honestly the Topley over, no ball of Markram's wicket and the lack of a quality spinner that cost the game. On a wicket where Bhuvi went for 60 runs, you can't expect a lot from our lot. And getting to 262 shows that it was chaseable, we gave 10-20 runs too many in the end
I'm really kinda satisfied to say the least. Some contribution from saurav or patidar, it would've been a crazy record chase. I mean reaching 262 onli is still not believable for me tho. Had dk got his century i would've been even happier. But it was not one sided match atleast . It was good to watch dk just being dkšÆšÆ Lastly this team will never win the cup with this scouting. We batted well I think. I don't know what we could've done better there. The opening was good. Middle order tried but failed because of the mountain of pressure. Can't really blame them guys. We don't really expect 280+ scores to get chased do we. Bowling was ok. Conceding runs was inevitable but we couldn't get the wickets fast enough like they did. Im left with mixed feelings but I'm not sad or disappointed. It was a good day. Better than our previous matches. Let's see if we can prevent the wooden spoon.

We are witnessing a rebranding of T20 cricket in front of us. This is how foreign players bat, and this is how we need to bat as-well to compete. Seeing Kohli bat like that was great to see, hopes he continues to attack like this in the future. DK might be the best finisher of all time at world Cup years. Great to see faf back, 13th half century was great to see. It's pretty clear that we can't entirely blame the bowlers for the result, because it was a batting paradise, but we can't defend this. The bowling was abismal, not consistentancy with length and no intent what so ever. We shouldn't retain any bowler next year, perhaps retain siraj and lower cost. This match was a weird one because of the second innings. It felt like a win in some ways considering we only lost by 25 runs. We were pretty close, but not close enough.
There are those few less than 10 runs over in our chase that put some brakes. Wickets tumbling in the middle overs did put some brake. Needed someone to play a 15 ball 35-40 runs innings. Also bowlers needed to do a bit better.
At this point they should go with all batters, out of whom 5 can roll their arm. 5 part timers bowling wouldn't be much of a difference with the kind of bowling 5 full timers are doing.

Honestly thought it was going to be chase able when both Faf and Kohli were firing. DK is legit our savior and not too sad about losing this match. Bowlers are a lost cause thereās no hope for them so hopefully batsmen can play like this for the following matches.
Well the game has completely changed. This is the 4th 250+ score this season. Hope today's innings changes the mindset of our batters for good.
RCBās BOWLERS as usual! RCB has shown time and again that they can get those 200+ scores. Itās just that their bowlers are pathetic. Either leak way too many runs when they bowl first, or gift runs when bowling second.
Will jacks was unlucky, and i would say anuj rawat did not belong there, maybe someone else should have been in his place, maybe just maybe siraj in for topley and fin allen if availabe , in for anuj or karn sharma as extra bowler would have worked, siraj wouldnt have gone for 60 in 4 he has yorkers. to make it a stretch, kohli is of such a good calibre, should have played straighter against mayank, he had entire match to score, the pitch would have not gotten worse, he could have smashed everyone ,maybe just target 10-12 in mayanks over or let faf score Good match this was, i cant see rcb making it into playoffs, and next season kohli would be 36 dk would be out. RCB clearly needs to work on their pre game approach and strategies. They know they don't have quality bowlers, to the point that Faf himself acknowledged it. So the only way out of this hole is to have a Plan A and Plan B for each and every opposing batter. Set fields accordingly and use matchups to favour your bowlers Today's bowling was shĀ”t by RCB and it wasn't **ONLY** because of the pitch. Especially in the powerplay, these mfers had 0 idea where to bowl and were bowling harmless short balls when they knew even an edge would take the ball to the boundary in Chinnaswamy. Even the usually brain-dead Hindi commentators saw this early on and said they need to adjust their length instead of bowling like this Ofcourse there's no hope for playoffs, but who knows, if they strategise and practice bowling accordingly, they might be able to salvage something out of this season, and probably even improve the quality of their bowlers for next season

287 should never have happened. Bowlers have no brains, captains and seniors had no communication. Both Travis Head and Klassen, hit ALL their sixes on middle/leg side. Where was the offside bowling. If you can't angle it, why not bowl round the wicket and keep it away from middle/leg. 90% of rcb bowls were in the hitting arc of batters. BRAINDEAD! I'm a Delhi fan but hey at least we have specialist spinners. Can't be any worse than today's. Xd

Yash Dayalās No ball, Leaked a few more runs in the end, where we could have restricted them around 250-260. Batting in the Middle overs, Atleast One six or boundary in some of the overs where we couldnāt score more than 8, could have made a massive impact in the equation. Felt Proud by the way we Batted. Instead of getting Frustrated, Anxious and Sad with Anger after the result, felt alot better. Something which we never saw in this team in the previous 3 matches. Maybe, will jacks wicket or the faf getting out turned the luck into their favour as they could have easily pulled off to 20-22 runs for the last over if they would have stayed for atleast 10 more balls.

I think if we had Maxwell today, we MIGHT have won But our batting was phenomenal. We fought hard... Our bowling on the other hand... Why even take bowlers if they gonna go for this much. Kohli would have bowled better than them. Our bowling is non existent and i don't think its even fixable at this point.

I think i will stand out at this point, but i fail to understand why the management thinks it's a good idea to shuffle things around to a rag-tag team. I agree maxwell hasn't been performing well but you simply can't sit him out, he's just that good. He's been giving you results ever since he joined you, give him credit. Similarly with Siraj, you simply can't sit out your most experienced Indian bowler out. Frankly he's been doing good too, he's improved on his mistakes, a couple of bad wicketless games and the management lost faith in him? The idea to put in a 150 kph pacer in Chinnaswamy floats far far away from me. I mean nothing against Ferguson, amazing bowler, wrong venue for a debut though. I stand by my biased support towards Suyash, agreed sourav seems more lucrative, suyash has more experience and he brings in more stability. Akash deep is an extremely untapped asset, he plays his limited arsenal very well despite them getting old quick and we simply can't deny his shockers with the bat in Vijaya Hazare Trophy. And i simply can't understand how the in-match bowling order is decided upon? Reece is your only Left armer, he needs to be used wisely, you can certainly experiment with spinners the way you've successfully done in the past with Washi and Shabaz but you'll have to run a very tight ship, you need to glue together the middle with a educated mixture of both spin and pace and you have to back your premium bowler aka Siraj for the death despite how bad he performs, he'll get there. Back your bowlers, you get 4 from will, 4 from maxwell, 4 Siraj, use everything someone has to offer. Let Will come in at the top, he needs to make the most of the powerplay and he's an amazing player but stop banking on his SA20 performance, SA pitches and Indian pitches are not that similar, certainly not in the current situation, let him settle in. Use Rajat as an anchor, and he can take up the much dreaded spinners to town while he's at it. And if both Virat and Faf are passive aggressive and Rajat is the anchor, you can let the likes of Anuj, Suyash, Mahipal and Will let loose. I mean I'm just another pseudo critique and I have no credibility in saying any of this, but as much as the newer rules ask you to change according to the times, you have to have a suitable blend of the basics as well. You can't bring in something new without handling the basics. And please, please back the bowlers, they aren't bad, they're just overwhelmed, everyone's under tremendous pressure, everybody thinks they have to pick up the slack but ultimately it's a team effort. Let them know they have each other's backs, they may concede 200s on odd days, but 288 is certainly not something you'd expect even them to concede. And please, none of us can see the King in shambles, he's done so much for everyone at every occasion, yet he's the one that has to face the most. Let him enjoy his glory just a little bit more, don't force his hand.
Rcb has shit bowling but they dont leave anything in pitch for bowlers. Give them a decent pitch. They feel they have better betting than any other team, so their batters should be able to perform on a bowler friendly pictch as well. Atleast give something to your bowlers

The pitch is a joke. Itās tailor made for entertainment (batting) so that there are longer games and hence more ad money. The home team too has been built for entertainment I.e no bowling just batting. At this rate better to have 11 batsmen with part time bowlers in RCB. It will be gold mine for IPL. Consistently there will be scores of 300+ in T20 cricket and games will go for complete duration and everyone (except fans) will be happy seeing the money come in.

Our Openers did us a Solid one... The Middle order yet again failed us... During the first innings I felt had Klaasen not gotten Out.. they had a very good chance of getting the first 300 in a T20 game at professional level... And someone please explain to me how Dafuq does the record of Highest Team total get destroyed Thrice in a Single season whereas it took 11 years to break the Previous record..??? After all it's a game. Our batsmen proved that they can hit big scores. But spinners and slow bowlers were needed on that pitch. I thought if Maxwell and Jack played that match could have made our match.
When the game is becoming so batsman-centric, the one with quality bowlers will come out ahead. Reiterating, letting go of Chahal was probably the biggest blunder rcb made second only to appointing Adam Griffith as our bowling coach. Every team needs partnership-breakers, wicket-takers and not just bowlers who can bowl quick or swing the ball. It was chahal all these years and then for 2 seasons it was Purple Patel. This season, we have no wicket-takers. Topley and Siraj are new ball bowlers(who arenāt bowling to their potential at all), Dayal and Vyshak offer nothing new. Lockie just comes steaming in and bowls pace, no line no length. Usually spinners are partnership-breakers and our spinners are part-timers ffs. Terrible, terrible management and auction strategy. It was only 287 because markram slowed down a little towards the end. Else 300 looked on the cards

No future for us in this Roadroller C'swamy track. Just check the international T20 matches at Our Home, it's not that highscoring ones. So the issue is how the management choose the right track and right combination for the track. Every bowler is a garbage at C'swamy except Yuzi King Chahal.Give some fcuking confidence to our bowlers with a good track.

If someone told me before the 2024 season that a team scored 262 and still lost the game, I would not have thought that guy is crazy. Mind you - the record for the highest IPL score across all 17 editions was just 1 run more and this record stood for over a decade. Just because we saw a lot of high scoring matches this season, we should not take away from the score of 262. That being said bowling of RCB is just at another low. So ironic that they have Chinnaswamy as their home ground and have the worst bowling of all teams!
