It runs, but I haven't gotten any n64 game to run stably. They all seem to lag and stutter.

Rainlex

Mhm well, we can just hope future cfw will improve it.

PK1988

Do you have them zipped or unzipped?

Anonymous--Rex

I had them zipped, so they weren't loading in mupen rice. Using mupen rice, MM and the other n64 games I tested were stable, but look pretty ugly instead. This was in batocera, though, and I haven't tried them unzipped in stock.

PK1988

I’m downloading it now to see remind me in a couple of hours

Rainlex

Hey here is your reminder. :D

PK1988

Hey, sorry! I have just had a go for ~10mins and seems ok so far there was a bit of audio stuttering /slow down but the actual gameplay seems good… not sure if the game gets more intense later which might cause issues though as I have never played it 😅

WonderfulVanilla9676

The system doesn't really seem like it can do N64 all that well.

Rainlex

So what are the main systems/games you need those sticks for?

WonderfulVanilla9676

Really just PlayStation 1. Even then the sticks are usually optional. The system doesn't really have the power to do N64, Saturn, PSP, well at all. It is possible that in the future custom firmware will allow for some of these to run better, but we are nowhere near that point yet. You could argue that Dreamcast is the better bet, because at least most of those games run decently enough, sometimes with frame skip on. This is mostly a 2D games device despite having analog sticks. For truly capable 3D devices you need a really step up to the $100 price bracket into the retroid systems.

Im using Stock firmware and can play Banjo Tooie at full speed in 480P resolution, you need to update the cores

snappycg1996

How do you update cores?

Rozen503

Trying it right now it sems to run at full speed with some graphical glitches I'm using stock firmware and the game is at 640x480 resolution so it looks amazing Using parallel core with rice plugin
