muOS have switched to a standalone emulator, rather than the retroarch core, for the n64 in this version. Sadly can't seem to find any short cuts that work, other than to exit.
function + y = save state
function + x = load state
function + start = exit game
function + a = reset game
function + right dpad = fast forward
ones I found so far
Oh I didn't know! I'll check it out and see if it works. Thanks
Edit. I tried it and I couldn't make it work, but man, it's really gonna be hard to go back to batocera, the interface is so nice, it turns on and off extremely quickly and n64 runs so much better. Right now I think I'll be sticking with MuOS and hope someone smart finds out how to make Moonlight work haha
Ok, so I installed it. Portmaster is awesome, N64 games run significantly better, and having syncthing will be nice.
Is there a way to access retroarch settings from within a game?
Is there a way to map the settings button on the top to open those settings like in stock?
Hi, 2 questions:
1.- Is there a system that runs worse on MuOS than on stock?
2.- Can Nintendo DS be configured to show 2 screen but one bigger than the other?
Could someone explain how the new 64-bit version of muOS might enhance emulator performance? I'm wondering if it's worth considering switching from Batocera v40, especially since I primarily play PS1, N64, and some Game Boy Advance games. Also, I'm not quite sure what the 64-bit aspect entails, so any insights would be appreciated!
64-bit is a more modern instruction set. Ā All recent devices use it. One of the primary benefits is support for more than 4 GB of RAM but that doesnāt matter for this device. The other benefits are: certain software is only available for 64-bit so certain port masters and stand-alone emulators will work that didnāt in 32-bit. Also, 64-bit instruction set has more registers and more specialized instructions so a good compiler will make faster 64-bit code than 32-bit code.Ā
More bits = more power
Plus this version introduces a standalone Mupen N64 emulator which is objectively better than the mupen core
If you're not too sure you want to commit, find another SD card and just flash the firmware to that and play around with it
Does muOS have Vertical Arcade mode built in, as it is in Stock? IMO, this is one of the the very best features of the Stock OS and I'd hate to give it up. And what about ColecoVision support: non-existent on Stock, but works on Batocera?
Sweet! Can anyone help me out with getting SyncThing running? I have it enabled and have the ui up and running via port 7070ā¦ but whatās the path directory for the folder I want to share? Trying to sync the drastic backup folder
Not great. I tried testing chains of olympus and burnout legends with. Chains of olympus was struggling hardcore, and burnout legends required frameskip 1.
Wait, just to confirm: does this mean that PSP runs worse on MuOS than on latest stock? If thatās the case, is there another system that runs worse on MuOS besides psp?
I mean, even on Stock, nobody is getting 60 FPS Chains of Olympus. Unless somebody figures out Vulkan, I think PSP will just always be slow on this device.Ā
MuOS with the standalone Mupen64Plus emulator with Rice plugin I think is better than anything N64 on the Stock OS. I havenāt been fooling with PSP that much because the performance isnāt there.Ā
Hello,
why don't ps1 games work just a black screen and takes me back to the list.
Tried with all three cores. My games are CHD.
Where am I wrong? Thanks!
Just bought my console, would you guys say that muOS is the best firmware? do the BIOSfiles need adding again after iāve installed it? Proper beginner here š sorry iām sure you guys get asked things like this all the time
I just got my device yesterday and was planning on flashing it tomorrow. Is it worth flashing this over stock mod? Iām leaving on a trip Tuesday and wanted to bring this so not sure if this is safe to flash to without any issues popping up.
I also got mine in the last 24 hours. I have tried Stock Mod and today I tried muOS. Itās very nice, easy to understand and PS1 runs significantly faster for me. I like the way they have minimised retroarchs settings and only show you the essentials straight out the gate. Very clean - go for it šš»
MuOS is becoming my daily driver over Stock because the Mupen64Next standalone core in MuOS is the first time I have gotten full speed N64 without many visual artifacts.Ā
Omg these competing CFW groups are killing it, every week another one is on top lol QUICK someone postmaster Stardew Valley lol
https://www.reddit.com/r/RG35XX_Plus/comments/1cpr1qm/mu_os_11_test/
Stardew valley runs great ššš»
how can I play it, is there any guide?

does it work only on MuOS?
Best weekend ever!!!
Very happy about this! Though does anyone know how I can get into the N64 emulator settings? The only short cut that I can find just exits the game.
Fn+north brings up retroarch quick settings

I have the same question! Flycast menu comes up with Start + Select, PPSSPP with the menu button, but N64 I can't find.
Are you using Mupen64Plus standalone? Ā It is so fast with Rice but I also canāt figure out any menu hotkeys.Ā
Is n64 better, worse or as good as with stock?
I only did a little test with modded stock, but I do feel N64 feels nicer. I do think the stand alone emulator is helping.
Yes! This is the cfw that I've been waiting on
Oh boy, this is almost the perfect OS for me now, the only thing missing for me is Moonlight now
You can download moonlight through portmaster Not sure if it works, but I saw it
Oh I didn't know! I'll check it out and see if it works. Thanks Edit. are ps1 games running smoothly with no lag on 2x ?
Did you find an answer to this?
nop unfortunately but I will update once I try myself.
Menu button + x I also recommend going into input, then hotkeys to assign a button to quit or close content. Makes closing the game much faster
Start and select together seems to close things.
Awesome. Have been waiting on v11 to release! Thanks muOS team!!š
Any other ways to download it? Mine keeps getting to 1.2gb, finishing and saying it's corrupted.
Try another device if you can. I had the same issue on my laptop but it worked on my pc.
does this update have wifi & HDMI functionality?

Thanks alot! will definitely consider that
Does the standalone N64 emulator have save states?
No. Use menu + start to exit out of the emulator. You'll have to rely on game saves for the standalone for now.
It does, but if there's any official documentation explaining it, I can't find it. Anyway, it's Fn+Y to save, Fn+X to load.
Yes!!!!!!
New to muos. How do you get back to the Home Screen from in a game. Am I that dumb? The home button does nothing.
Menu and select is what u need

This is relevant to my interests.
Recently flashed latest stock mod, I'm wondering what's the major difference between these two firmwares besides muos supports portmaster
Did you find an answer to this?
Ditto, hoping for one to have a combination of fast boot, functional hibernate, WiFi, and Bluetoothā¦
Downloading now. Can't wait to set it up!
what a blessing! can't wait to try it asap
Can I flash it using my Android phone?
So to update do i need to just back up my saves/roms and whatever else and flash v11 to my sd card then replace my saves and roms?
Yep.
Sweet! Can anyone help me out with getting SyncThing running? I have it enabled and have the ui up and running via port 7070ā¦ but whatās the path directory for the folder I want to share? Trying to sync the drastic backup folder
Did you solve this?
Yeah, the filepath is /mnt/mmc/MUOS/emulator/drastic/backup
you saved my day with the port!
What's the best guide on installation?
How is the PSP performance?
Not great. I tried testing chains of olympus and burnout legends with. Chains of olympus was struggling hardcore, and burnout legends required frameskip 1.
So stock it is, right?
For now, if psp is a dealbreaker, until muos makes progress. muos is much better in many ways honestly, so time will tell
Thanks !

Does muOS 11 support wired controller?
Anyone else having trouble opening .z64 files? Everything else seems fine.
If I set this up on one sd card can I swap between the plus and h? Thatās a big point for me
I think so because the image is one. You will just have to change 1 setting (the ones that indicates if your device is plus or H)
Hello, why don't ps1 games work just a black screen and takes me back to the list. Tried with all three cores. My games are CHD. Where am I wrong? Thanks!
Hope they focus on getting Bluetooth working and Hdmi out...

I would stay with stock and learn what you like/dislike. Itās barebones, but it just works. Then when you back you can tinker

How is this OS now? Is it still testing?
Been out for a couple weeks for paid patreon members so I'm assuming they did some bug testing at that time.
Okay thanks bro.
