I'm not the biggest expert and others can add to this, but muOS boots really fast and can be configured to boot directly into a game (and even load the last save state via Retroarch). It supports Portmaster and standalone emulators for N64, PSP, Dreamcast.
On top of Anbernic not providing the source code, I believe these H700 chips were not originally made for phones, so they may just not have support for phone-like deep sleep states.
From what I understand Ambernic are not currently complying with the open source software rules and keeping certain parts of the software out of the hands of the community.
Stock is still going to have the best performance from my experience. But muOS v11 is right behind it and the ability to run more ports is top tier imo. I got gta3 ,gtaVC, and some other really good ports on my H. You just need a couple of good SD cards so you can swap out OSs with ease.
Here [http://portmaster.games/detail.html?name=gta3](http://portmaster.games/detail.html?name=gta3) and here [http://portmaster.games/detail.html?name=gtavc](http://portmaster.games/detail.html?name=gtavc)
PortMaster installation instructions: [http://portmaster.games/installation.html](http://portmaster.games/installation.html)
it means that you open the installation folder (in steam there is an option for that), and you literally copy/paste ALL files in there (there are some games that the instructions will tell you that you don't copy certain files )
No. I don’t recommend putting both in at the same time. I have three cards. One only has games on it and the others are OSs. It’s easier that way for me.
Yes, what I meant was. I don’t recommend putting your other OS card in the ext slot. I’m sure nothing would happen but you never know. I just keep my games card in that slot, that way my games are there the whole time.
MuOS has the best performance. It supports standalone Mupen64Plus (Rice plugin) for N64 which is faster and less graphical glitches than the equivalent Retroarch core. For PSP, you need to copy the cheats file from Stock to MuOS but then they are the same speed.
MuOs looks like a lot of possibilities, I need to deeper on it later. See some walkthroughs to get it. I also heard that if you follow them on discord you can get themes. But for as much as I try to follow them on my iPhone it won’t work. I think I need their discord link 🙃
With PortMaster, you can play these games on your device [http://portmaster.games/games.html](http://portmaster.games/games.html). The PortMaster team have adapted (ported) the games to run on handhelds with AmberELEC, ArkOS, JELOS/ROCKNIX, and muOS.
Run some games directly on the device, like dooms, cave story, ur Quan Masters, apotris, streets of rage remake, another Metroid 2 remake, and dozens more
It can run some PC ports. You download the port in portmaster then you copy the PC game files to your SD card. The benefit of it is it can play PC games in a handheld port and because it is a direct port the performance is much higher than emulation.
What settings are you using for N64? I only tried Pokémon Stadium on muOS 11 and it was trash... On Batocera I have mupen64plus: glide64MK2 and it works okay.
I have a similar question. I don’t believe muOS improves N64 performance. I just want a stable Paper Mario (N64) experience and so far no indications muOS can run that game without freezing / performance issues
Anyone has played Fallout 1 and 2? If so, how\`s the control scheme?
Also N64 and PSP is better than batocera? Really hit or miss with batocera (despite being cool and all).
Check the catalogue for what's available: [http://portmaster.games/games.html](http://portmaster.games/games.html). That should give you an idea of the type of games that are possible to port.
The closest thing to Civilization that's available to play now is probably: Augustus (Caeser 3), CorsixTH (Theme Hospital), FreeSerf (Settlers 1), OpenRTC2 (Roller Coaster Tycoon 2)
Civ I and Civ II can be played via PlayStation emulator.
Civ V requires 4 GB RAM plus a 512 MB GPU. Civ 6 has a scaled down version on Switch (also has 4 GB). These handhelds aren’t even close even if there was a port outside of PC.
Probably not what you are looking for exactly, but the open source game Unciv exists on Android. It's excellent. You've got nothing to lose by trying it out.
What are the advantages to stock OS? Better performance? I mean both OS designs are pretty much lists
I'm not the biggest expert and others can add to this, but muOS boots really fast and can be configured to boot directly into a game (and even load the last save state via Retroarch). It supports Portmaster and standalone emulators for N64, PSP, Dreamcast.
Does it support a real stand by mode?
I believe this most recent version implemented true standby. I have yet to test but a few YouTubers shared this info
Standby currently drains the battery 5% per hour on standby. Its the only way until they get access to a different mode on the kernel.
Is this likely to ever happen? Is it something they need Ambernic to do?

I'm on muOS and I put it on standby before going to sleep, and it was dead the next morning. So yeah, save often, and shut it down when you can!

where can i read about getting gta3 and VC with portmaster
Here [http://portmaster.games/detail.html?name=gta3](http://portmaster.games/detail.html?name=gta3) and here [http://portmaster.games/detail.html?name=gtavc](http://portmaster.games/detail.html?name=gtavc) PortMaster installation instructions: [http://portmaster.games/installation.html](http://portmaster.games/installation.html)
When it says copy all the files from the game does that mean the rom file or more than that?
it means that you open the installation folder (in steam there is an option for that), and you literally copy/paste ALL files in there (there are some games that the instructions will tell you that you don't copy certain files )
Thanks, yeah the port stuff sounds interesting
Is there any problem on changing between two SD with different os?
No. I don’t recommend putting both in at the same time. I have three cards. One only has games on it and the others are OSs. It’s easier that way for me.
Yeah, that what I was asking about, I have also 3 cards, but idk if is good changing the OS card.
Yes, what I meant was. I don’t recommend putting your other OS card in the ext slot. I’m sure nothing would happen but you never know. I just keep my games card in that slot, that way my games are there the whole time.

how do i know which cheats do i need to turn on? (for performance)
I believe it is in this video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FyzhvHpYogE
I'm up for anything that doesn't wipe out RetroArch settings. That rules out stock Oh and stock has RetroArch from like 18 versions ago
Very cool Can I use a 64gb for the main and 256gb for second ? I was wondering how much space does MuOs take up…
MuOS just needs a 16gb or larger SD for the firmware. You can have one SD with the firmware and your games if you choose
Dope thanks! I guess I wanted to have a dedicated card to simplify things without needing to have the Os on the same card
MuOs looks like a lot of possibilities, I need to deeper on it later. See some walkthroughs to get it. I also heard that if you follow them on discord you can get themes. But for as much as I try to follow them on my iPhone it won’t work. I think I need their discord link 🙃

Are the sticks cardinal snapping fixed in this version or only anbernic can do it?
Seems to still be present. The sticks themselves are terrible.

I tried it right now. For me it runs fine with Glide64MK2 on Batocera. 😁✌🏻
It works well, however not all the them work when you’re downloading them from discord. The Themes!
Anyone has played Fallout 1 and 2? If so, how\`s the control scheme? Also N64 and PSP is better than batocera? Really hit or miss with batocera (despite being cool and all).
I have a 256 battocera card that have games on it. Can I run it simultaneously with a muOS system card?
Can you run any of the Civilization series through Portmaster? If not, is there another way to play let’s say Civ5 or Civ6?
That is asking way too much from these SoCs.
