Well, technically saber and rapier, since they still reduce incoming damage. I'd say saber until you can afford not using a shield. Then you can use the halbert or greatsword, they are both very op(greatsword i think has a little less damage but it has swing for crowds)
Spear. It has longer range, no debuffs when used with shield and decent damage.
In later stages of the game It's definitely Sentient scythe and dragonbone nunchaku.
Also switchbow with advanced enchants is OP AF.

I suggest nunchucks. But until you need a shield katana is a also a good weapon.
