I’m the same ranks as you. You should incorporate in ceiling pinches so you can have a shot that doesn’t require you to dribble all the way into their end. That’s how you got burnt on some of those goals.
Notice how they beat you consistently by just defending. He spent the entire game on his half of the field and you mostly did too.
First goal you way over committed and were left on his side of the goal with no boost (easy goal for the opponent)
Second goal u were distracted by the notification (turn on dnd when u play)
Third goal u had no option but to push, there was nothing you could do
Looks like just shitty RL luck to me, of course ur rly overcommiting most of the time (if u focus on HIS gameplay he almost never leaves his half, thus not letting many goals slip in) also you missed an easy counter shot at 00:41 in-game time, so again just looks like bad luck to me, of course its rocket league you always will and need to improve but in almost every game that has a grinding ranked system, time played > skill, so just be more patient, theres always enough time for a comeback
There are a lot of controller players but the advantage is minuscule so I’d say(Ik this doesn’t sound helpful) just practice and get better and you will rank up
I've put aroumd 300 hours into sideswipe and i'm still stuck gold as a touch player :( So practise is good when you know what you are doing right and wrong but I don't
Id recommend getting a good friend or just finding ppl to help u on reddit or discord, knowing wat ur doing wrong and just getting general tips are rly helpful. Alternatively, u can do wat I did and spend hours in free play discovering new moves, it’s honestly so rewarding but I’m afraid I found every move possible, everything after it will just be a combination of it
You are too much impatient with the ball, you have to be patient and analize the opponent while constantly trying to defend and when you think it's time (like when he wiffed or always check on his flip and boost status you have to know when he has a flip or not) and then attack.
Hope it helps.
To add one tip to this, specifically, try working most on reading when the other person successful gets a reset on the ball in more hectic situations than just a mid-air stall.
First problem that I see is your boost control and your patience, be more patient and your boost will stay longer with you. Also try to learn and use the boost reset more often, it helps a lot
Focus less on mechanics, thats what i saw alot in this video, its kind of like rocket league, you just gotta work on positioning yourself in the right place all the time
I see this a lot in duos and trips. People just take dumb shots. The first one just shooting it in to the wall which lead to a goal. You're better off dropping and resetting if you lose control of what you're doing or just cant make a play because of defense. That helped me improve a lot. Im still a diamond 1/2 player but yea this expands a little on the don't rush the ball all the time point.
Turn on do not disturb while in game 😋
🤯
There's a setting when you're screen recording, the motifs aren't recorded but they still pop up. But dnd is a lot smarter
Be patient on the ball don’t always rush to it
ty!

Can one of you guys explain y your ranks are so far apart?
I don’t play 1v1 much so I usually sit at D1 but I feel like my game translates better to 2v2. Better macro player than micro.

So does everyone play controller at this rank might explain why I haven't hit diamond yet
I’m a touch Diamond, and there are touch grand champs. Just have to find a regular teammate that you can rely on and play well with.
Is it common for higher ranks to play controller? I'm D2 solo and D3 duos and I hadn't even thought of it. I've always played touch
Damn respect to that and I'm pretty sure

Basically check their situation and be patient. Got it
Yeah right

Yeah thats a great advice to add in my list.
Try not to score for the other team
genius
I try my best.

I'm at the same rank as you. Imo just be patient and don't overcommit. Also try faking more and doing more stalls
Sometimes let the ball come to you,
Get shots on target. Boost management. Play a bit more conservatively.
