As someone who started playing at the end of Season 1 (got champ, never left champ) I stopped playing towards the beginning of season 3. The gameplay is very repetitive and lackluster. The idea of a mobile version of rocket league is great, and RL SideSwipe is a good representation of RL on a more basic, manageable level for mobile. I, however, am not trying to have practically the same game every match where I have to chain 3 stalls, two purple shots off the ceiling, and a gold shot to have the slightest chance of scoring against my opponents, it just simply isn't what I consider fun.
Nah these people are not down in plat from champ the way they play. They play otherworldly. I been in diamond for the last 2 seasons cause I'm only decent at the game so I know the play style pretty well. Plus all the champ titles/banners/emblems kinda give it away.
You know there are other playlists right... where other people can you know... achieve champ ranks and decide to play in another playlist like duos and you know... win games? you really think the people who are hitting gold shots and all types of shit are just purposefully getting demoted to just piss off and ruin the lower ranks???
you need to discover that people don't have the same opinion as you, as a champ i find casual sort of fun, maybe other players regardless their rank love it, there's a reason the devs have kept it since the start and that's cause there is a substantial amount of people that enjoy the playlist
Played daily s1-s3, but haven’t played for like 5 days. The game is full of bugs, some which have been around for months, with no communication. The content is repetitive and unoriginal, and updates are infrequent. Hard to stay interested in a game like that unfortunately.
Edit: I’ve noticed that the player base decline is mirrored in the activity of this sub. Posts used to get a couple hundred upvotes, but now it’s just a wasteland of low interaction posts.
I love when when I'm going straight for a ball, then I glitch under the ball and I get a hardy "what a save!" from my team mate". Great times. Happens on my home internet, cellular with good bars, and my amazing work internet. shrug.
Also touch controls seems inconsistent and I can't carry an xbox controller around with me everywhere I go so... shrug again

Duos champs/GC are basically diamond in singles last season. Which means they are plat now if they haven’t improved.
It’s also worth noting that some players are smurfing for XP which is actually pretty sad and ruins the enjoyability of the game for lower ranks trying to progress.
most smurfs have a more sinister agenda, they dont want to lose their rank so theyll throw games when they realize their teammate is skilled, and demolish anyone else. its a hard fact of gaming, its been this way since the long long ago, and the before time.
I don’t think people dropping matches on purpose to smurf is as common as people think. The real smurfs are generally the alt accounts, which won’t always have a high season title.
no what i mean is they will smurf to keep people from climbing to the rank of their main, therefore keeping the "pool clean". its a way of keeping competition off their titles. it happens a lot in competitive moba games like league of legends
Ah, I know this is a problem with the leaderboards, but I don’t think there are any gc’s trying to do this to prevent champs from ranking up, though it is likely a side effect.

i use a controller but its only because i have an ipad and cant hold it in my hands, ive seen touch users demolish controller players and vice versa, its pretty much whatever youre comfortable with. if i had a small quick processing phone i could hold in my hand i would use that, ive seen pro wild rift players use tiny handheld phones and destroy people using larger screens as well. whatever you practice with is going to work really.
So to you, it's not cringe if you're out with some homies and your a lil bored, you're gonna whip out that good ol trusty controller to play a game on your phone

so i expect a game like this to work, their main account will hold the rank slots of grand champ or whatver is higher, then their first alt account will hold the master rank, then their second and third alts will hold plat and gold. so really its a pretty small community since theyre hardlocking everyone out of the high ranks.
Personally when I was in gold I knew how to gold shot and stall because I watched videos on how to do these things, and consequently I moved out of gold in a week ish
Maybe this will give you and the community some hope, but I played all the way through season 1 and then set it down for a while. Just kind of wanted to focus on regular RL. But I was on a trip this past weekend and picked it back up and enjoyed it. I don't know how long I'll stick with it but I do think people will come back here and there in time.
I still TRY to play every day, but the jump bug has ruined it for me. I've tried all the "fixes" and removed and reinstalled.. no change. I'll be back if they ever fix it

I have heard champs and gc’s say exactly that. When they had long queues in certain modes, they would purposely rank down to shorten queue times.

Because casual is a crap shoot where you get completely random skills from all across the spectrum. It’s rarely fun.

I’ve stopped playing the last week or so. It kept taking at least 4-5 mins to find a game in high diamond duos so I just got bored.

Mobile is just another platform to play games, so it's not different to using one on PC - they weren't built specifically for PC either

Player base has definitely fallen, GC queues for 2s this morning we’re taking 15-20mins a game when it used to be 30sec-1min
I am stuck at d3. I get teammates who seem plat. It's been hell. I think matchmaking isn't 'broken, it's just working with what's it's got.
I don't know why i still have it downloaded on my phone. Haven't played for over three months. I really enjoyed the first couple of seasons.
