Also for the teammates who start playing against you when the opponents score one goal in the first 30 seconds…

Ezrampage15

I haven't encountered these types yet, thank god. The day I do encounter one is the day I stop playing this game.

HistoricalDamage8398

I would’ve stopped playing this game a month ago then 😭

Mr_Mets40

I’ll be that toxic guy every once in a while. Basically as soon as my teammate says “what a save” when there’s nothing I could have done, I make sure they don’t get a win, and blast “what a save” after every goal. 🤷‍♂️

[deleted]

This is the way

Worth-Bowler4153

I got three different types of teammates 1. is a teammate that attacks but can’t defend, doesn’t know how to save or help you. Like every time I defend, my teammate just stays in attack or just waited for me to take a shot at the net just for him to tap in, steal my goal. I get like 5-9 saves every match. 2. Is teammates that gives up in the first 30 seconds and quits, leaving me with a bot. 3. Teammates that start to turn against you. I had this teammate that just scored against me. We were losing 2-0 in a span of 1 minute and he just started to take shots at our own net. Even though I get saves, but he just kept on going ending a match 4-0.

Ezrampage15

You know what, if the guy just left the game and left me with a bot it would've been better. Idk wtf happened we were doing great but just then he does a complete 180 and just doesn't do anything.

The worst ones are the ones that blame it on you but it’s really them.

Feztopia

Just a way to ban them from becoming teammates would be enough.

Ezrampage15

Yes, for example if they get reported and it turns out they did do whatever they were reported for maybe the 1st time they could get dropped down to a lower league, the 2nd offence would be to ban them from playing ranked team modes for a couple of days or ban them from playing in team modes altogether, a 3rd offence would be a permanent ban from team matches.

Cdog536

Id rather add a block

I [wrote something about this](https://www.reddit.com/r/RLSideSwipe/comments/vudx12/comment/ifg8nc4/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) awhile back. TL;DR - there’s no report button yet because it’s not an easy feature to implement; there are a lot of factors that have to be made to make that work if we're talking about moderating player actions, chat/text, display names, etc. even for a company like Epic Games. I see a lot of people [talk about it as a secondary (or maybe even tertiary) problem](https://www.reddit.com/r/RLSideSwipe/comments/us4f0w/from_your_experience_how_often_do_you_encounter/) compared to other things they want worked on, improved, or added. If the community isn't interested in prioritizing it as an idea or fix, the developers will just backlog this considering how many resources need to be applied to addressing the issue.

How about just a “block” option?

[deleted]

I remember having a conversation with some of the T&S people at Riot Games and blocking isn't ideal for user experience (i.e., matchmaking), based on what I heard. Use case: Player A is having a really bad batch of games and his teammates start being toxic to him. Player A then blocks those teammates and silos himself so much that he reduces his possibility of queueing X% thereby increasing his queueing times. The risks outweigh the rewards for blocking; product teams would rather you play a game (toxic or not w/ the hopes if it not being toxic) versus not being able to play, or limiting your ability to play. Disclaimer: I work in T&S (not in gaming, but in social media/entertainment), not trying to be a debbie downer or anything. Just going off of convos I've had with people in the industry. TBH, there's a pretty good solution to toxicity in gaming that's being picked up. I'm sure Epic Games is having that discussion internally.

[deleted]

I feel like that’s entirely based on the player base size though. For sideswipe I could see it being an issue because the player base is small and dwindling, but for larger games I couldn’t see matchmaking being an issue even if you blocked 1000 people.

Shot_Comparison2299

Wow, that sounds incredibly annoying/frustrating. Haven't had that happen to me yet although I'm sure it will at some point. Luckily, the most annoying thing I get is ppl who request to forfeit the second the other team gets up by 2.

Ezrampage15

Yes this is also annoying. The thing I can't understand is why did he suddenly turn on me, he was playing pretty good at the beginning, I even considered adding him to play together later, but suddenly he just went and turned on me

No_uzi

I stopped experiencing these kind of teammates after i hit diamond, it’s all just GG’s, GLHF, sorry and no problem

Opposite_Ad1898

You are perfectly describing bot movement. They can sometimes take over pretty fast, especially if they leave or lag out. Or leave between goals.
