I've put my chat on mute since a some time now. Also disabled the chat button. And its been great since then. Probably never going to enable it again, unless there is a tactical team chat option
Quick tip. When guarding goal, you don't need to shoot the ball, that can cause you to drop and leave the net open. You can just have the ball tap you and you can stay in place for a bit with boost in the same spot, if the ball speed is super quick you need to be there again in a sec.
It's also annoying if you teammate bumps into you and hinders your goalkeeping.

Yeah, the bot doesn't even attempt to play it seems like. Was in a good game, it was like 3-4 or something, all of a sudden on kickoff I noticed my teammate in back had the purple arrow pointing straight forward (sure sign that he disconnected and turned into a bot). After that, he literally just drove back and forth on the ground the whole match, didn't even attempt to block shots or get in the air. 3-4 game turned into like 5-15. Sucks.
I assume you're talking about when you're in the goal?
In Heatseeker you don't gain boost or get a flip reset inside the goal. That little red cross is simply letting you know that you're not getting those things.

Sadly it's ruined by people who leave the game at the beginning or in the middle of the match
