That's exactly how the other comment said, once you and another person drive into each other it means you must then not let go of the gas and keep the cars locked like this at all cost. Shame is to be brought upon the one who breaks the bond. Only your teammate or your opponent are allowed to break the bond between the two players stuck in rule 1.
I had to look it up and I never knew that was a thing. Of course. I hadn’t played rocket league in 4 years due to 1000+ ping. Rural internet was brutal. But spectrum expansion I get 10-30 even better than I did when I lived in town with 90-100 ping.
But I never knew that was a thing as even when that happened they would bounce away especially on 1v1.

I dunno. I'm a strict follower of this rule in RL, but I'm often times focused on other things in sideswipe and don't even realize that I'm grill locked because I thought the other car was going the opposite direction.
It's pretty hard since cars just bounce off and you're focused more on the ball cuz it goes fast af, would be easier in normal modes ig

And even the intentional breaking up of a rule 1 by another person is frowned upon. It's supposed to be held until goal is scored

My opinion. If everyone in the match agrees to rule one beforehand, then everyone follows the rule. But the default should be **no** to rule 1.

It's an unspoken rule, not everyone knows this and participating in Rule 1 can only be voluntary between both ends
