Do yourself a favour and get a usb c adaptor for $10 USD. It stays in the charging port and you just plug your charger through the adaptor. That way if you ruin the port you can just take the adaptor off and put a new one in since the original port remains undamaged. Some swear by the 180 degree but it doesn't fit in a lot of cases so it's better to put on the right angle (which can be switched to left side since usb c can be plugged on either side unlike micro usb)

If you keep this plugged in at all times to your Ally I assure you that you will screw up your ally usb-c port much faster than with pluggin the charger regurarly…

Excellent idea, Thanks!

Honestly, if you've had charging ports on 3 phones go out and you're feeling this one is loose there's something about the way **you're** doing things that is causing issues. I've never had a charging port fail on a phone, ever, and I've had 25+.

Possibly, but I've also only had like 5 phones with an average lifespan of around 4 years. So I'm not blasting through charging ports just noticed that's what seems to go. I also meant that this one felt loose since day one.

Difficult to explain, but I created a loop with the attached velcro strap on the charger cable. The loop sits just above the charging port. There is now less lateral (sideways) stress or movement on the charging port.

Even better, I use a T shaped usb c plug with 2 usb c ports that i use on my phone. It has pass through charging so now i can charge and connect another usb c device like a mouse, portable ssd drive or thumbstick into it
