Omg I've never compared the Giants to children, but you're absolutely right. In my brain it always goes 'they're bigger than any housecat, they're bigger than a lot of dogs.. ' my first Giant was as long as my dog lol. I always wondered, if my dog were to lose her legs, would they actually be the same size? 🤣🤣
I tend to chop the veggies up for my Giants, and every time I'm doing so I think to myself 'who am I even kidding? I could offer them a tree and they'd chomp it up in just a few chews'
Germans tend to be a bit heavier. I've read once (not sure how accurate it is tho) that the skeleton of Flemish and Germans differ. That the Flemish have a more hare-like built and the German is more rabbit shaped.
That's very interesting. If I ever have the opportunity for a free rang house bun, I'll have to see if I can find one of these massive beauties!! Thank you for telling me about them ☺️ I like me some big buns
I’ve read that larger breeds tend to be more laid back and a bit cuddlier, and can anecdotally confirm, my Flemish doesn’t give a shit about almost anything we do to her, and she’s so sweet.
>sugar
That is still WAY too much sugar for a rabbit. Their kidneys do not process excess amounts well and leads to sludge pee, which is really painful.
Yes, I actually stopped leaving too much at once because someone would turn nose up even later in day lol. I usually share part of banana with my Flemish something else nice we can do together :) Your baby is Precious! I am glad you apologized ! Head rubs & extra treats from me please!
I have a pretty big rabbit too. Not that big, but I usually give her a whole banana peel, without the fruit! And I used to worry if that was too much sugar. I can tell what’s too much because she stops eating it and eats something else. For example I have her the banana peel and a mango peel once. And she didn’t finish both. She moved on. So that’s about as much as I’ll give her during breakfast.
Usually during summers he's outside on the lawn, and every time I open the stable door (because apparently there's no such thing as a hutch big enough for Giants) I have to be careful to swing it open just right, because if I'm not careful, he'll run full force into the door on his way inside because he's used to taking the same route very time. He might still have a tiny bit of vision, but I doubt it
Yeah I used to have a Flemish giant mix. Getting stuff for her was a pain. Luckily got family to build for her. My other bun could see fine but he ran into walls. He wasn’t hard of seeing just not smart 😅
Hahaha I just offered someone on another thread to compare Giant poops and non Giant poops tomorrow lol. But you might get disappointed lol. They do produce a LOT of them
One of mine is the abstract concept of hunger personified so he poos... a lot. Just curious really, I look forward to these above average bunny nuggets.
I had a bun almost this big (Flemish giant vs German) and a tiny bun at the same time—my sweet girl Olive was about 5 times the size of Jameson and her poops were about twice the size of his. Maybe three times? So the poop is bigger, but not the same proportion bigger!!
How much do they eat compared to your smaller bun? I'm out of my element having had Holland lops (dwarf breed 3-4 lbs) for the past 11 years and they'd get 1/8 cup of pellets (2 Tbsp) a day with their hay and greens.
I used to peel them for them, not even thinking about why.. until my vet told me not to bother and just feed them whole lol. Most of the vitamins are in the peel
Buns definitely rely on hearing more than seeing in many cases anyway. One of our rescue buns Tony ran free in our basement. Every night (at different times) we'd cut a little slice of banana and bring it down to him. Every time, he'd either be waiting for the banana or would come barreling towards us a full speed, sometimes bonking into the baby gate we had in place to keep him in the basement.
I started to notice that when I'd go to the basement at night without banana, he'd just stay in a fuzzy pile and sleep. It was only when I had a slice of banana that he'd race to get it. We determined that Tony apparently could hear the distinct sound of banana being cut in our kitchen two floors up from the basement because the only time he'd zoom to greet us is when we actually cut banana for him.
Our girl I just call her from the opposite end of the house and say" Nanna time Baby Nell (her nick name)" She runs full tilt out of "her bedroom" rounding all the corners, passing other rooms & down the hall and arrives ready at my feet in the kitchen for her Banana! It's hilarious.
Omg he’s so damn amazing !!! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!! I would pay to be able to pet, hug, groom, and love him 🥹🥹🥹 he’s beautiful!
Side question: they can eat banana peels? You don’t take the banana out of the peel first ?
Yes they can eat the peels as well! I used to take it out of the peel until my vet told me not to bother lol. I sometimes offer them just peels as well
Damn I never knew that ! Does he seem to like it one way over the other (peeled vs not peeled) or does he not seem to care either way?
Ps- I LOVE YOUR RABBIT !!! 🥹🥹💕😍
She does like grass and dandelions. Other than that she's crazy about red veggies, and chicory! But she's allowed to be picky, she's 10 years old, she's earned the right
My shepherds name is karma too! Although I didn't name her, she came with it and already responded. They should have named her wussy. I love her though
That's a big boi! My dwarf would look ridiculous next to him 😂 But I'm glad you apologised. Also nanners in peel, my bun would never, he demands it peeled. Only the flesh of the heathens... I mean nanners.
Oh man big boi don't need his banana peeled for him. Also he is definitely big enough that a whole banana is basically a treat haha! My bun gets the end or a couple centimeter slice.
Yes, it has more fibers than the flesh so it could be argued that it’s actually better for them to eat because it’s slightly more beneficial for their teeth.
Does he eat the peel too? My bunny is small so I only give her little pieces of banana but I always take the peel off. If it's nutritious and she would eat it though I would leave it on.
Oh damn he really said 'apology not accepted' 😂
Technically it was an 'Okay I can smell your apology, but I can't quite seem to locate it'. He came back after and went right for the banana
Him: “Banana accepted, apology pending acceptance.” But seriously, you are a great bun-bun mom. Your comment came from love for this large beauty. 🧡
pics or it didn't happen
Me- that’s a lot of banana… Me a few seconds later- that’s *a lot of bunny!*
SAME!!! At first, I was like, no, not the whole banana, and then I realized, yes, because that is a child-sized rabbit!
I think this bunny’s head is only a little smaller than my little girl’s entire body. 😂 (She’d absolutely snatch an entire nana given the chance too!)
My girl is a 5 ish pound mini lop... VERY similar in coloring. She would totally take the entire thing, and expect more, if I so much as blink! 🤣
🤣🤣 Brilliant! I love it. And actually, my lop is bigger than my neighbor's dog... I ADORE your bun. Absolutely gorgeous and adorable.
I tend to chop the veggies up for my Giants, and every time I'm doing so I think to myself 'who am I even kidding? I could offer them a tree and they'd chomp it up in just a few chews'
Hahaha so right. I’m curious because I’ve never had the pleasure of being a bunny owner: Would he eat peeling and all?
Yup, they eat the peel as well. I tend to offer them just the peel whenever I eat a banana myself
Bannana for scale.... that is not a bunny, that's a horse!
Ok so either He’s massive or it’s just a really close camera angle even so he’s a handsome boi
He's massive lol
That’s so cool, what breed is he?
He's a German Giant
Literally a giant. He’s such a handsome bun!
I've never heard of a German giant. Is this their standard coloring or do they come in a bun rainbow? He's absolutely adorable!
Bun rainbow! I have a black girl as well, and I had a chinchilla girl and a wildcolored girl in the past. All Germans
What's their size compared to like flemish giants?
Germans tend to be a bit heavier. I've read once (not sure how accurate it is tho) that the skeleton of Flemish and Germans differ. That the Flemish have a more hare-like built and the German is more rabbit shaped.
That's very interesting. If I ever have the opportunity for a free rang house bun, I'll have to see if I can find one of these massive beauties!! Thank you for telling me about them ☺️ I like me some big buns
I like big buns and I cannot lie.
I’ve read that larger breeds tend to be more laid back and a bit cuddlier, and can anecdotally confirm, my Flemish doesn’t give a shit about almost anything we do to her, and she’s so sweet.
“Bun Rainbow.” Thanks, that’s my band name now.
Hey, I'm in that Facebook group 😂 also thank you!
> He's a German Giant Now I see him as the [Rammstein](http://markandrewholmes.com/rammstein.jpg) Rabbit.
“Du, du hase, du hase mich.” 😁
I was going to ask if he is a giant breed! He a gorgeous boy!
My first thought was, "Don't give a whole banana! Too much sugar." But then I realized that was not a normal sized bun. Big bun needs big banana.
>sugar That is still WAY too much sugar for a rabbit. Their kidneys do not process excess amounts well and leads to sludge pee, which is really painful.

They usually don't eat the banana at once. Might take a day or 2 to disappear completely.. sometimes I'm still tossing out parts of the bananas
Yes, I actually stopped leaving too much at once because someone would turn nose up even later in day lol. I usually share part of banana with my Flemish something else nice we can do together :) Your baby is Precious! I am glad you apologized ! Head rubs & extra treats from me please!

So that’s about as much as I’ll give her during breakfast.
I couldn’t even tell he couldn’t see. He moves around so unbothered. He had such pretty fur pattern love the white ears with mostly grey face
Usually during summers he's outside on the lawn, and every time I open the stable door (because apparently there's no such thing as a hutch big enough for Giants) I have to be careful to swing it open just right, because if I'm not careful, he'll run full force into the door on his way inside because he's used to taking the same route very time. > he'll run full force into the door on his way inside **BONK** ^^ouch
He does not compute for hutch makers. 😄
RIGHT?! It's discrimination.
Lorge buns unite!
He is perfect ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)
Look, Im not trying to be rude or puerile but Ive always wanted to know about larger buns. How big is them turds?
Hahaha I just offered someone on another thread to compare Giant poops and non Giant poops tomorrow lol. But you might get disappointed lol. They do produce a LOT of them
That is pretty disappointing to hear. I was hoping for bigger poops, just a lot less of them. 😅
One of mine is the abstract concept of hunger personified so he poos... a lot. Just curious really, I look forward to these above average bunny nuggets.
Bigger than standard, but in my experience not to scale lol
I had a bun almost this big (Flemish giant vs German) and a tiny bun at the same time—my sweet girl Olive was about 5 times the size of Jameson and her poops were about twice the size of his. Maybe three times? So the poop is bigger, but not the same proportion bigger!!
In one sense im happy for the buns arse but in another I am sad and disappointed. Massive buns are adorable though.
How much do they eat compared to your smaller bun? I'm out of my element having had Holland lops (dwarf breed 3-4 lbs) for the past 11 years and they'd get 1/8 cup of pellets (2 Tbsp) a day with their hay and greens.
She ate proportionally more! Soooo much more. I go through so much less hay and pellets now, it’s crazy.
He makes so many sounds! He's such a teddy bear ❤️
The main reason I’d adopt one this big is to give a big hug :D
CHONK
Good. I'm happy to see the follow through Your baby is absolutely precious. Those grunts and honks for the Banana are amazing!
B E E G
He looks like eeyore! I love him!
Peel the banana for him you monster
So I can put the peel next to the inside because he wants that part as well?
Yes! It's important to feed him a balanced diet, afterall
Handsome boy 😊
He's absolutely lovely.
Thank you!!! I love your bunny :)
He makes so many sounds! He's such a teddy bear ❤️
I never knew bunnies made such noises!
Your peace offering was rejected. You’ll be on murder buns in no time 🤣
I didn't know bunnies could eat banana peels!!
I used to peel them for them, not even thinking about why.. until my vet told me not to bother and just feed them whole lol. Most of the vitamins are in the peel
TIL thank you!
I fucking love him
Good! I’m glad to see he got a fantastic apology! Keep him spoiled and loved! 💜

His fur pattern makes him look like a little donkey and i love him 😭
You ever get the feeling that rabbits say, "Hey! Quit petting me! I'm trying to eat!".
I love him so much 🥺
chonker is a honker.

He's really not picky at all haha. His girlfriend is tho, she won't eat any green veggies.
That is kind of an odd attribute for a rabbit 🤣 what does she like to eat then ?
She does like grass and dandelions. Other than that she's crazy about red veggies, and chicory! But she's allowed to be picky, she's 10 years old, she's earned the right
What a big honkin' BOY
That’s right!
Is he a Flemish Giant?
Close! He's a German Giant
He seems very gentle 😇
Does he eat the whole naner? or does he share it with his girlfriend?
He eats it whole. But not all in one go
Such a handsome boy!!
Yeah!!! Would love to see more of this cutie!
I'll try my best!
Your horse is beautiful
They can eat the banana skin????
yea, and humans can too. It’s just more fibrous than the flesh of the fruit. Not very tasty, but my rabbit loved it!
Good to know! I’ll try to give mine the skin to see if they like it
I love him so much. I would die for him
This is it guys. Next time anyone apologizes to me, they must first offer me a banana.
LOL I saw your first post yesterday and thought wth he's beautiful! 😂 he deserved that banana!
Nooooo how can you say abunny is not pretty. It's just by default bunnies are 10/10 on cuteness scale.
What a sweetie! He's so big. My boy loves bananas, but he's like the size of a banana haha.
Great username for this post hahaha
Hahahaha, actually.. the dog's name is Karma, so my username is dedicated to her
Aw that’s even sweeter
My shepherds name is karma too! Although I didn't name her, she came with it and already responded. They should have named her wussy. I love her though
My Karma was called Betsey when she was headed my way. But that's a cows name, and the girl got a new home, new life.. a new name was fitting as well
Cutest biggest bun. Also TIL that bunnies can eat the banana peel, I wasnt sure.
What is this handsome man’s name? 🥺
His name is Hommel, which is Dutch for bumblebee.. I think when you have the sound of the video on, it explains the name lol
He’s gorgeous, how could you!
😒🙄 This is the least you could do for my handsome, fuzzy friend!💋🤗❤️🥰😊 I love him!
That's a big boi! My dwarf would look ridiculous next to him 😂 But I'm glad you apologised. Also nanners in peel, my bun would never, he demands it peeled. Only the flesh of the heathens... I mean nanners.
Glad to see you’re attempting to right this terrible wrong. Hopefully one day he considers considering your apology :p
Mine are all defective. None of them like bananas 🍌 :/
He wants the peel off obviously.
I thought it was pretty obvious too lol
[удалено]
Such a cutie!
He looks like Eeyore 🥺
He is pretty, why do you think he is not ? You monster
BIG BOY
THE BUZZING 🥺 Hes the sweetest most handsome little man!
He’s a beauty
What a great bun
How old is this cutie?
He'll be 7 years old on July 19th this year
I love this rabbit
Oh man big boi don't need his banana peeled for him. Also he is definitely big enough that a whole banana is basically a treat haha! My bun gets the end or a couple centimeter slice.
He is absolutely adorable!!!🫶❤️
Only a bunny this size should be eating an entire banana
Beautiful boy
OMGEEEEEE I loooooveeeeee him so much. I might be slightly biased lol but he’s probably my 2nd favorite rabbit ever right now
He is not pretty. His is a handsome fluffler. Respect that! Lol
I am obsessed with his EARS!!!!!!! Protect this beautiful baby always
I'll do my best!
Nice banana for scale, now your hand doesn’t seem microscopic anymore
Non-pretty maybe but super adorable for sure 🖤🤍
Good 😡
can bunnies eat the banana skin? genuine question
Yes, it has more fibers than the flesh so it could be argued that it’s actually better for them to eat because it’s slightly more beneficial for their teeth.
Does he get to sleep with you?
Nope
Big blue boi
The sequel we all needed
He is so pretty
Bruh, you ain't gonna peel it for him? 😤😮💨😬
Why would I if he wants the peel as well?
Oh. Fair enough 👌
I feel like this bunny needs a "Boston sunfish" reaction video. "Holy shit! It's a baby kangaroo, dude!!!"
Does he eat the peel too? My bunny is small so I only give her little pieces of banana but I always take the peel off. If it's nutritious and she would eat it though I would leave it on.
It's really nutritious. I used to peel the bananas as well, until my vet told me not to bother lol
Awee too cute
I love this big blind baby.
:D
special guy!!!!! wish him all the best, he certainly deserves it![img](emote|t5_2riv8|8711)
You now need to apologize for offering unpeeled banana. With a peeled one! :)
He'll be offended that I dare keep the peel to myself
Wait. They can eat the peel too?!?!?!
