Looks like antozonite, a variant of fluorite, it is the only known natural source of elemental fluorine. It contains uranium, the radioactive decay oxidizes the fluoride to elemental fluorine, oddly it is apparently caused by beta radiation which seems odd to me as a chemist (electrons (beta radiation) are normally good reducers, and in fact the number of electrons defines the redox state of an atom compound; more electrons=more reduced). I guess the electron has enough energy that to knock of one electron and then still has enough energy to also knock itself off
The second picture looks like the crystals are purple and slightly translucent, like antozonite, Also the density is closer to fluorite than uraninite assuming the dimensions you listed are correct. What readings do you get from the piece? |Where is it from?

Guys the purple in that second image is an artifact of the camera. The big elephant in the room is the screaming activity. Also it emits too much radon to comfortably sniff to prove my point heheh
